  • Should I? Or shouldn't I? 2005-10-07 06:57:45 Well... right now I just released my latest video. I think it's something quite good. But I know I have 2 or 3 other ideas right now which are nagging me to be made of which are going to be way better than anything I have ever done before... Of course there's Project Dawn which is one of these ideas...

    But anyway, I'm stuck right now... I'm itching to do some editing but quite frankly my uni work is just stacking up to me... I'm barely keeping my head above the paperwork... and tomorrow I want to start my final write up for my thesis...

    Just today I started at 9AM... went from meeting one academic to another, every corner I turn, another professor wants my attention... and then there were the printing people that needed to have the quote done for the book we are publishing, of which it then needed to be brought to the finance department, found a "purchase form" for, got back to the printers and then now I have to wait till Monday to see it... and of course there's the catering crap...

    I should by all rights exploded right now, but in my panic, I still feel that there's something I can and should do... at 6PM, I went home from uni and did a few more email runs and schedule changes. Damn the stupid faculty politics... why do we have to get dragged into this just because we are the Project Management team...

    *sigh*

    I know... I should shut up now...

  • Long time indeed 2005-09-28 12:14:10 Yes, I haven't written anything in this thing for a long time owing to the fact that I was just plain super busy. But I have a few moments of breathing space right now before I have to dive into it again.

    Manifest (Melbourne Anime Festival) is over and it was tons of fun being the AMV coordinator. But of course that means getting the raw end of the deal when people start to voice their opinions. For the most part, everyone loved the Iron Chef comp and enjoyed the AMV comp enough, but there were rather large concerns in the ending ceremony when most of the winning videos were internationally based. I guess the video community of my town just isn't used to being so open to the international crowd, but quite frankly I wouldn't have it any other way. We've received more entries this year than in previous years (we actually had to cut down on entries because we didn't have enough time to show them all) and certainly the quality of the videos were dramatically better. I don't blame the local contestants for being intimidated, but I guess it's all part of the managerial image... not everybody will understand.

    Anyway, video information for my latest video is not up though I'm waiting for about a week or so before I release this. Animania is just around the corner and this is where the video is going into competition. It is true that this video has already premiered in Manifest during the AMV Exhibition (right before Reflections of Style 2 which I was just so excited about), but I want it to be as fresh as it can be for the people of Sydney.

    So yeah, please wait up... it's coming.

    And now to begin planning my parody video. 
  • Runner up syndrome 2005-08-09 08:58:56 Well... yeah, got another one... very very happy I even got this far, though of course there'll always be the disappointed part in me to not have done better (seriously, who wouldn't have wanted to win if the prize were those shiny glass trophies)... oh by the way, I'm talking about Animethon here, and AVCon as well I suppose...

    I hope this isn't where I'll be stuck forever... :P
