Man... sitting down is tiring... I need to lie down XD
Bought myself a new harddrive case... $65... and I tell you this thing is gigantic... Most 5.25 inch drive cases I've seen pretty much fit the drives snuggly, so they're pretty ok size, but this one I got is monstrously large... at least twice the size in terms of volume of the drive itself. Awesome thing about it is that it's well ventilated and has a fan! Hopefully I won't be suffering any meltdowns soon :D
I never knew how much happiness a humming box of metal can bring you... oh, and it has a nice LED too that changes colour based on what it's doing XD (yeah, lame)...
Amvience MEP is progressing relatively nicely... after this... well, it's back to university I suppose... so I'm probably going on hiatus from making videos in general... only one more thing to release... Anime Academy Heroes... who wants me to release now? XD

First order of business...
2006-01-23 02:41:30
Alright, excited as I am with becoming AMV coordinator for the second time for Manifest, I think I want to just get a little bit of a question out there in the AMVing world before I set up the whole competition all over again... namely:
What would you want to see in an AMV competition today?
I might feed this to the forums/IRC some time later, but for now, I'll just try to catch whatever answer I get from here for now.

Ok, so I guess I was so excited, I forgot to write something on the journal post before this... -_-;
Well... let's see... I guess I'll start from the beginning...
It was one of those 40+ degree days today (that would be like 100 for you American f00s)... and it just so happens that it was also a Manifest organising committee meeting day...
The train ride, the car ride and the tram rides to get to the university where the meeting is being held weren't bad because they were fully air conditioned. The momentary journey from one transport to the next wasn't too bad most of the time... but when I got to the meeting, I realised that this was to be an *outdoor* meeting today...
Apparently, the inside of the Union building in the university was fairly closed off because there was a Magic card tournament going on... now the rest of the committee didnt really want to enter the builidng apparently because it was full of adolescent and adult men alike, all smelling their otaku-est inside the video games room of most conventions...
But that's besides the point... smelly card players, or stinging hot outdoor meeting... I had to come to todays meeting... because today was the election for the AMV coordinator for Manifest 2006... and I ran for it again.
And I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Manifest 2006 Anime Music Video Coordinator...
ME!
I swear, I'm going to whore this competition more than I've ever done... we had 44 videos last year... I'm seeing to beat that... and have better videos and more renown creators... and we're going to bring back medals and awesome plushies and DVDs for prizes... as well as the second year of the running of our unique(ish) Iron Chef comp (24 hours)... man... expect rules to be out in the next week or so... should look the same as last year's since I wrote those :P

Day out in the city...
2006-01-18 07:35:37
Ok, so I went out to the city today (Melbourne for all those uninformed). Almost didn't happen, wished it could have started earlier, but what are you gonna do when you gotta live by public transport timetables...
Anyway, the topic of today was art... Took her to the National Gallery of Victoria, then to the Arts Centre next door, basically trying to find an entrance to one of the play house theatres there, going as far as we could, hoping no security guard finds us out, and finally went to the nearby St Paul's Cathedral and marvel at the high ceiling and coloured glass windows...
Then I let her decide where to eat... suggested a Japanese restaurant with her quite the expert on the food (is the reason why she went to study Japanese I think :P). Went to those sushi train bars after our first choice was found to be closed.
Again, I confirmed that I am not a big fan of Japanese food, at least not the raw stuff... give me takoyaki, ramen and the rest of their *cooked* dishes and I'll eat it, but raw and sea food I guess is just not my thing. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was really good food, but it's just not in me to enjoy it to the max...
Overall, it didn't matter, because it was fun... now I'm off to plan to get a third day out with her :P
Editng... well, shoot, choice between going out with girl or edit... yeah, none today... all I know is though that I have to finish all my MEPs in the next couple of days because it seems life is about to get busy on me soon with job interviews and shifts at the job I already hold... I'm scared of this new job I'm about to apply to... I'm hoping it doesnt screw over my university studies...
