JOURNAL: Infinity Squared (Mark )

  • a first time 2006-05-09 05:47:30 Wow... I did quite a bit of betaing today... I think I've gathered quite a number of opinions already to keep working to the next level now... it's always nice to have a different set of eyes to pick out what you might have missed (in this case, a lot since I wasn't really doing much to pick them up :P)...

I don't know why I feel I gotta make this thing a tad more pleasing than any other MEP I've done... oh yeah, that's right, it's run by the twins... I should stop being a fanboy...
  • trinity 2006-05-07 08:28:44 Alrighty then... my track is done... well... the basic video behind it... if I were to all of a sudden turn lazy between today and tomorrow, then I have at least something to hand it (although it's by no means complete in terms of what I had in mind). I should be finishing this in about a couple more days...

For the first time really, I'm going to be doing a full betaing of this, meaning I'm not just going to show it to people to get interest or whatever... I'm actually going to do it to improve the video, to get people's opinions of what works or what doesn't. Honestly, in the past, all of my videos were rather a surprise, or just sometimes, people know the source, but it's not till it's on Local that anybody even has a clue what to expect.

I don't know, I guess I'm just a very independent sort of person when it comes to this... I learnt more from reviewing and receiving ops than from showing people my work in progress. I also think that I love surprising people...

For now though, I'm going to sign off for the night... it was a productive day today.
  • gloating... 2006-05-06 08:50:48 Ok... got some news... I am once more in control of the Manifest website... Ultimate Power!
  • frustration 2006-05-06 08:03:06 Why isn't anyone from the Manifest Organising Committee online tonight?!

I need to find out what happened... apparently I accepted a nomination to become the webmaster once more in the meeting today which I did not attend... so did I actually get voted in?

    gah!
  • vector failure 2006-05-05 10:16:21 Ok... damn... vectoring was much harder than I first imagined... this may take a lot longer than I first anticipated and I really did want to get it done (mainly for a wallpaper competition which luckily has a deadline quite a long time from now).

What I'm a bit jaded now though is convention politics.

It's stressful being in a committee... there never feels like an order, it's almost like pure luck that a convention comes out at all at the end of a year's worth of bickering and frustration. And there are certain outside individuals, privy in the past to my convention's inner workings who seem to delight in sullying the work put forward by the committee and even when they realise that something good was done, they still try to look for faults.

Yeah, it's not a pretty picture. Hopefully some sanity is brought back into the committee after this weekend's meeting, which I will not be attending... partly because of fear that it might become the most stressful meeting yet, but mainly because of family reasons...

I don't know... I just got riled up today after seeing one post by this individual who seems to delight in saying nothing but disheartening comments, and seems to go beyond the call of duty to make it a personal vendetta that my convention looks bad.

"This too shall pass..." quote always works for me, albeit sometimes it takes longer than other times...
