  • me?.... talk too much?..... never! 2002-04-10 21:47:14 yeah ok i know i just wrote a long entry but hey, what can i say, i like to talk. even more now that i have a *working* mic (see earlyer entry for rant) and dictation softwear. i love bitch, he can get all the neatest stuff. (yes, his name really is "bitch")

    i don't think i've done any work this week, on anything..... not school, not my video, or anything else. i just sit around eat, and play online. tho its not like i've been on TFC that much more (yet another referance to an earlyer rant)

    i recently learned that there really is a thing called an "AT field" in real life. its a term in physcholagy for the mental defence that that may be put up by autistic children. its supposed to be particularly hard to break.... learn new stuff every day huh? so YOU TOO can have your own AT field! that is if you don't mind being autistic.

    i should work on my chainmaille again or something. i havn't touched it since christmas. (i'm just a great big mixed bag of hobbies!)

    aaaww screw it i'm going to bed. i'll yap more latter 
  • responce to sixstop.... 2002-04-10 20:35:32 i'm not exactly sure what your motivation is for asking this, but what the hell, i'll fess up.

    i have no idea when i learned about anime. or i should say, to the point here i could look at something and say "that's anime". but i remember a long time ago seeing this one show while me and my sister where flipping thought the channels. nither one of us knew what is was, or that it was anime (i must have been 9 at the time) it wasn't in english, it wasn't subtitled, it was just this cute girl in the woods with a pink motorcycle that turned into a mecha. (didn't know what a mecha was at the time either) this is all i remmeber of the show. neither of us knew what it was, or why it wasn't in enlgish, all we knew is that we reall yliked it. and after it was over we never saw it again. i remmembered that show for very long time jut wondering what it was it was only after becomeing a anime fan later thet i was able to think "oh, that must have been anime!" to this day i have no idea what show it was. i wish i did, i'd go back and watch it all.

    but the first time i watched anime knowing full well of what anime was, was back in high school. during the days of scifi's saturday morning anime (when it was at 9am too) i believe it was Iria: Zeriam the animation that was on the first week, and this really cought my attention, i don't think i missed a week after that, Iria, Akira, cashan, vimpire hunter D, these were my first anime. i even followed it to the 3am time slot when it was moved, and all the other times.... for the logenst time it as my only source of anime. it wasn't till Sailor Moon (not DBZ!) on cartoon network that i was really able to sink my teath into an anime series. and when the dubbed episode stopped i went out and learned of fansubbs, and got the remaining three seasons subbtitled (back before S and SuperS were dubbed). this is also my first exposure to subtitled anime.... and found for myself the difference. i was compeletely obsessed with sailor moon for 2 years before i moved on to other anime. now i'm a pretty well rounded anime fan. (i have the Oh My Goddess movie DVD right next to the Perfect Blue one)

    and while i feel chatty..... HOW I GOT INTO MUSIC VIDEOS!!! ( i just keep going and going....)


    the first anime music video i ever saw was an extra on one of my fansubbed sailor moon tapes. the video was sailor moon (duh) to the song "kiss from a rose". this basicly blew me away. just the fact that people could do that. i watched that video more time then the actual tape itself. i had the song stuck in my head for weeks. tho my actual music vidoe collection didn;t start till my first year of college. the video that stared me collecting was kevin caldwell's engel video. the source of this video is a most odd one. i was given the video (i digital format) from one of my roomates, the second biggest asshole i ever met (the biggest asshole i ever met was my OTHER roomate that year) right after that i started scouring the web and file sharing programs for music videos and begging my friends to burn them to CD for me. and thus begain the one of (like top three) largest AMV collections of my college, and at my college that means a lot (anime club here is 300 people strong)

    and look.... i didn't write this during Diff Equ!!! 
  • guess where i am..... again 2002-04-08 15:10:25 **Okay this is the second time i've had to write this, i was a good hour into it when explorer went down. so now i have to type it AGAIN, and i'm trying to type it exactly the way i had it before**

    yeah, you guessed it, differential equations. i mean what else am i supposed to do in this class? pay attention? i don't think so. i also couldnt help but notice that the number of hits my jurnal has gotten has doubbled sinse my last entry. i wonder if theres anything to that (it can't be my magnificent spelling that's for sure)

    i actually went bowling for the first time in over a decade this weekend. and it was very apperent that it was my first time in a decade. my score for the first game was 35. tho there were some intresting points in the game. at one point i thew the ball so hard when it reached the end of the gutter (which is where most of them went) it hit a small lip, popped out of the gutter, and knocked down 4 pins. i've never even heard of that happening before, and apperently neather had the people i was with. they all fell over laughing. but hey! points for me! i actaully managed to get a strike later in the night, andi'd have to say it just about suprized the living hell out of me. all in all i think i would have done better if i just tried to shotput the ball down the lane.

    this week at my anime club i plan on showing the "hair" video. turns out a friend of mine actually had a version that didn't have that huge video error. so YIPPY! i also plan on showing the " my obnoxious neighbor" video from aluminum studios. (hopeing they won't mind a free viewing at a local anime club)

    while i'm on topic (for once), my local anime club has given me the go ahead to put on an AMV marathon this quarter (my college is on aquarter system no semister). that means i get to pick 6 HOURS of my faverate videos (and the ones i made) to a, mostly, captive audience. i might even take requests too. there was a marathon last year but it wasn't put on by me. now its my turn. i feel vindacated for spending so much time amassing the collection i have. tho its not even the largest one of the people i know anymore. the friend i got the unerrored "hair' video from jus got ANOTHER injection of videos form a guy he made a 'trade" with. so now hes up to..... 1200 i think.... maybe more. (don't worry the "trade" was just access to his AMV server). its a good thing he's my friend. you can never have too many reasources. (or buddies)

    i think i want to change majors.... all this engineering mathis really starting to get on my nerves. i was thinking about going into industrial desgin. its drawing with the illusion of engineering. they work with more how things look, engineers deal with ow things work. its not just diff. equ. either, dynamics is no picnic. i'd like to see you solve a problem in three coordinate systems at the same time! (x,y) (n,t) (r,thata) fuuuuun.....

    uh oh... looks like im starting to rant again.... those of you who have read my jurnal before know to leave now while you still can. the rest..... you've been warned......

    i bought a mic/headset yesterday from radio shack. how is it that they can have some products that kick so much ass, and other that suck so much ass? someone tell me! i mean i got the thing home and when i plugg the thing in the first thing i noticed is that the left channel doesn't work AT ALL! i mean really.... is it that hard? every compinay seems to be comeing out with there own version of some kinda of 'hands-free" phone system and this doesn't even have to put the two technolagies togeather. i mean its a headphone with a mic on the side! they even have their own cables. i could do better just useing ducttape them buying that. so i returned the thing and don't you knwo i searced that whoel city for a good replacement and couldn't find anything anywhere. not best buy, not circut city, not media play, or any of the other 5 places i went. ::grumble, grumble::

    i shouldn't play scoccer (or try to spell it apparently) all i did during the game (how i was talking into playing i don't know) was fall.... with style...... heres the break down: i trip over myown feet (thats what i get for playing in hikeing boots covered with ducttape), while falling i manage to turn myself around so to land on my back. as soon as my back hits the ground i use the remaning forward momentum and a little bit of a kick to do a backroll, land back on my feet and get up hardly missing a step. sports just arn't my thing.

    okay class is over.... well i guess that wasn't too bad of a ranting. not compaired to whatever week it was when i proclamed my love for chesse.

     
  • TFC is the devil 2002-04-04 08:16:24 you know i would probably have my second video done by now if it asn't for the fact i seem to be spending all my free time playing TFC. i thik i played for like 4-5 hours yesterday. that could have been quality video time. i need to learn a little more self control.

    well today i won't even have time for that. its an anime club night so i'm pretty busy today. i've recently been made the person responsable for showing all the music videos for club. which is great but just before then i let someone borrow 12 of my newest AMV CDs so i'v been haveing to go back to stuff thats like almost two years old (but still really good) so everything looks a little less shinny. oh well. i suppose coulkd jus go out and look for new ones right now, but as i said i don't have time today. not to mention its already too late, the tape has already been recorded. some time i have to work up the nerv to show MY video. i was going to do it this week but i don't want to say i was the one who made it. call it humbale, call it "i don't want to look like i'm abuseing power" i just don't want to (i think i mentioned this before). anyway i completely forgot i put my name at the end of it, so now theres nothing i can do to have my name NOT know. looks like i'll have to wait for my next video to be done before i can show anything at club.

     
  • stupid math..... 2002-03-25 14:55:24 well here i am in my differential equations class again (i don't know if its a good idea for us to meet in a computer lab) i don't really like this class, its the second time i've taken it, i sware the guy spends more time in dramatic pause then actualy talking. and he leaves his mouth open like he's trying to catch flies or something.

    anime music night was this weekend, and there were enought people to justify a second one this quarter (RIT's version of the semester) which if you read my last jurnal entry (which i wrote in the same class im in now), you know i have a crap load of work to do. 7 hours worth of music videos, yippy!

    you know this entry will probably be quite long. this is a two hour class......

    yesterday, or the day before (days mostly blur for me) someone sent me an e-mail saying he was looking forward to my "Lain - I Love My Computer" video and he wanted to see even the uncompleted video. while i found this almost flattering i had to refuse for two reasons. 1) i have no surver. so i don't even know who i'm going to get it out when its actualy done (yet), and 2) i promised myself that i wouldn't give ANY sneak previews of this video i wanted everyone to see it all for the first time, at the same time. no spoilers. so i won't even show it to the person who lives 5 feet from me. but now that i knwo that there are more people then just my friend pete waiting to see the video it gives me a little more motavation to get it done. tho i HAVE been working on it. i just havn't been as productive as i was in the first couple days.

    damn this class isn't even half over yet......

    in other news, i got the song 'country road' form the 'Whispers of the Hart' soundtrack, and i have a import DVD of the movie on the way (hopefully) so it looks like i won't have to wait as long as i thought to make that video. i got the idea/obsession right after watching the movie with my local anime club. <plug> its a very good movie, i recommend everyone see it like i recommend breathing. </plug> anyway.... im really psyhed about this video. i just hope i don't screw it up.

    .....gaah.... First Oder Linear Differental Equations.... I ALREADY KNOW THIS!!!!......

    you know i'd probably get more work done on my music videos if i spent less time playing TFC (Team Fortress Classic). but, you know, some times you just need to shoot people. (well not REALLY shoot people ^_^ ) but i have to say i do get a *little* satisfaction out of useing the chaingun to mow down those damn snipers.

    [more calm now] you know i could solve any problem in this class with one command in Maple 7(a computer program).

    my friend, pete, has a new card game he picked up recently called 'Munchkin'. i'd have to say its probably the funniest card games i've ever played. in what other game can you use the "broad sword"(only usable by female palyers) to defeat a (level 8) "stonned golem", or use the "boots of running really fast" to escape the (level 12) "pukeachu"

    lets see... how far off topic can we get....
