Requesting feedback...
2002-05-08 22:02:46
Just yesterday I threw my 2nd AMV, Nugget onto the server. All of a sudden the place was overloaded with downloaders,(many of whom I remembered seeing download Lord of the Butterflies :D). The place has slowed down to 3 users at the moment so I can take a breather and not worry about the whole thing crashing from overload.
So far, no one has reviewed Nugget and only 1 person has reviewed LotB and I WANT MORE FEEDBACK! This weekend, when I have the time, I’ll offer a couple review trades on the Opinion Exchange forum.
Meanwhile, if anyone out there has some free time at the moment, please consider checking either video out and offering a quick opinion.

I am happy

Yes that's right, I am happy! Happy because I finally got that FTP server working! (thanks to Klinky) I've got my first AMV, Lord of the Butterflies up for download and it's going out slowly but surely. Hope I get some response!
I'll throw Nugget on to the server sometime soon but for now I want to see how LOTB does.

My 2nd AMV is completed!
2002-04-07 20:02:56
It's finally done! It took 6 or 7 weeks but it's finally finished! My Furi Kuri AMV, for which I used Cake's Nugget is finallized and ready to go in the can. Now if I can just find a can, (a.k.a host) to put it on...
I spent six times the amount of time it took to make Lord of the Butterflies and though regretfully, I don't think it's six times better, it's a big improvement.
Spending a lot of time on it also jolted up my experience points. I’m a much better AMV creator/artist than I was before and it shows when you watch through Nugget’s four minutes. I make AMVs going from beginning to end and as Nugget progresses, it gets more layered and more complicated. I could’ve made improvements to make it look complicated throughout but I didn’t want to, I like the obvious rise in skill.
As for what I will do next, well I haven't confirmed it but I'm looking towards using Serial Experiments Lain. I might end up working with someone else on that one.

Okay, time to get started on this journal...
2002-03-31 22:51:35
I've only recently gotten interested in being more involved on AMVs.com which is why I haven't started on my journal for two months since I joined.
My first AMV, Lord of the Butterflies was finished in little more than a week but I feel that it turned out pretty darn good!I used the Cowboy Bebop movie and centered it around Vincent, the villian. I'd be ready to distribute it but sadly, I don't have a means of hosting(I know, original story indeed). In a few weeks though I'm going to have a cable connection installed so maybe I'll be able to put it on an FTP address.
In the meantime, I've gotten to work on a new project using Gainax's ultra freaky anime, Furi Kuri.
This one is taking an amazingly longer time to make, it's been five to six weeks!(I've lost count). Maybe it's because I'm borrowing from six episodes as opposed to one movie, maybe it's because I'm using a harder song, maybe it's because I'm lip-synching this time, maybe it's because I've become more perfectionistic or maybe I've just gotten lazier...I think it's a combination of these things but whatever, the AMV's turning out really well! By now I have about one more minute of it to finish up and some minor corrections such as subtitle removal and then I'll be done!
Furi Kuri is a giant step away from Butterflies since Butterflies was so dead serious. It makes sense though since I'm centering it around Haruko (for those unfamiliar with the show, she's a crazy, moped-crashing, "vespa lady" who spends much time whacking the main character on the head with a guitar).
Well, back to work!
