The Studio

I've recieved an offer to join a studio, and I think I'll accept. This seems to be an excellent chance to get advice and expand my skills. However, I consider myself to be a "lone wolf" type; at times too proud to ask for help until I have reached my limits. Knowing what thoses limits are and when to push them is the trick.
I have found that the AMV community is quite helpful to beginers, though, unlike other activities where one is denegrated if one does not instatly know all the intricacies to do it well. - Realignment 2006-02-25 00:57:52 Sunday is now my main AMV day with editing continuing thru more days if neccesary. Guess I should have done "Dysfunction" as my first Sunday AMV, but "Rememberance" did have angels (well actually Haibane.) ".poe//sign" (or whatever I eventually settle on calling it) will proceed as planned on Feb26 with release hopefully within the week. Expect an opening title quite different than previous videos.
- Abandonment 2006-02-11 19:09:28 It may be self doubt, but I'm not ready to make "How Long" the way I want to. Maybe I'm thinking too linerally, maybe I need to break the mold of video following lyrics and instead make the feel of the video match the tone of the music. I'm going to take a couple weeks off from making AMVs, and get to work on "Fly Away" in March.

Grand Ideas

I'm afraid I may not actually be ready to successfully pull off what I envision for "Rei: How Long". It will not be as minimal as my previous AMVs. I'm diving into the deep end, hoping the experience is there to keep me from falling straight to the bottom, all too eager to take the plunge anyways.
If it comes out like I hope, I'll save it for competition. Sure, it doesn't have the most popular music. Sure, Evangelion has been used for countless AMVs. But if it comes out right, it will be a quality AMV. If not, I'm afraid it will be a steaming pile only valid as what not to do.
If an album version is released, "Rei: How Long" will be remastered without the Poe introduction. By that time I'll either be able to simply cut that section off, or have the skills to fully remaster it into something great.
It may take a while to complete this one. Like I said in a previous entry, Saturday is my dedicated AMV day. However, life has other plans for me the next couple of weekends and a 2 week bussiness trip which has yet to have a hard date set, but I'm willing to take my time with it. I really want this to get 5's. It's ok that my others get 2's and 3's, I'm really expecting that. The process is what keeps me going, making something new out of two things I love, music and anime, even though I could never make anything good in either area myself.
