BLARGH.
The R.O.D. video that I try to Iron Chef through ends up taking more than two nights(although the first was mainly redoing the captures from fansubs).
Isn't there some law that states playing-around videos can be done quick, quick, quick?
Nonetheless, simply by talking about how much fun it was to be editing again, I won an award in last night's Dale Carnegie course. Fwoo.
EK: I'll probably email this to you, but what was the artist/track title of the Lupin Readymade remix you posted awhile ago on bbt.com? The one with Fujiko and pistol shots as refrains, counting in English and Spanish, and Lupin himself giving a lecture towards the start?
I've found a track list in a few spots, but am not sure exactly which mix it is(I know it's not the Pizzacato Five mix, but that's about all I know. ;))

Damn. "The Antidote" rawks.
And I need to find a cheap copy of the Go soundtrack. Accursed Steppenwolf remix..

Neptune: Well, the SNES game boxart was based on the original movie posters--such as this one: http://216.168.37.61/posteritati/FMPro?-db=PosterBASE&-lay=web&-format=detail.html&-RecID=12606367&-find
(Curses for not being able to use HTML in journal entries)
I could wax poetic on what a living nightmare it is to be living at home after college(I swear I can't see how some people make it their life).
Or I could blather about not being able to find anything interesting at "the best CD outlet in the Northwest" save for a copy of Wiseguys("Antidote", OH GNO I AM NOW THE TRENDY).
Or I could talk about finally reading The Dark Knight Returns all the way through(and reading the Forever War graphic novels again, fondly).
Or about getting hooked on Tenjou Tenge, even though it has no socially redeeming value whatsoever(Girls, wiseass fighting, and swords--oh my!)
Or the fact that I plan to submit an original animation piece to next year's Sakura Con, just so that it doesn't become synonymous with Dostal trainwrecks.
But I won't, since it's 12:30 local time, and I don't know anyone else who reads journals this late.

"Different"

Bowler: Snow Crash fanart??
YOU ARE THE COOLEST MAN ALIVE.
And the pic of YT is Dead Sexy(tm).
And in other news, I'm swallowing my pride and apologizing for badmouthing motion-capture. After seeing a demonstration of a new optical system at NAB(and being "gently" informed by a former owner of a production studio), I guess it really does have a good place in the industry.
(But that still doesn't help in any of the work I have to do. ;))
Other cool things from NAB:
A 17" Wacom LCD flat-panel/drawing tablet, for $3500. (Rory: "The question: this, or a house?")
Buttons with LCD screens/color lights worked into them.
Digit Magazine.
The Form-Z booth.
Getting a demo copy of Softimage|XSI(but then discovering it only works on NT/2000).
More to come..eventually.

"Gimme a FAT BEAT!"

Your Moment of Surreal(TM):
Listening to CDs full of professional generic clip-in "high-tech" music, and noting to yourself that it sounds hauntingly like generic anime music from the early 90's. Then you look down at the CD case, and discover that it _was_ made in the early 90's.
I'm off to NAB in about three hours...I need sleep. On the other hand, a 16-hour drive(and that's just Friday) can possibly parlayed into some naps. It's through the most un-scenic parts of Washington and Idaho..
I'll be returning next Friday--and things had better be DIFFERENT then.
I dunno, just "different".
