JOURNAL: Mechaman (Scott Francis)

  • ". . ." 2002-01-11 03:26:23 Have been shot in forehead by college paper-shufflers(and self). Am being very busy(and chewed out) tomorrow. Intend to return from grave in a month or so. New website design..whenever.
Oh, and "The Royal Tennebaums" is a genuinely good movie.

  • "...!" 2002-01-06 03:31:56 Apparently the fact that I was the only one who has not seen LotR yet did not hit home on the Eastside. Everyone and their damned family was seeing _something_ tonight, and I ended up having to wait around for three hours for the 8pm showing. If there didn't happen to be a new Transmetropolitan TP at the Barnes 'n Noble, I WOULD HAVE KILLED EVERY SINGLE PERSON THERE.
'z movie? 's' great. I dunno, but the Balrog or the troll didn't freak me out--it was when they chose to emphasize certain ring grabby bits; like Bilbo's Gollum moment, or Galadriel's heavy-dreaming episode. It's the EYES, I tell you.
..oh, and I had the token Tolkien(rimshot) fan sit next to me. Weirdo apparently didn't attend that many movies, not understanding that the theatres are not going to let the biggest movie of the year go without at least 20 minutes of previews. I finally saw that, yes, there is major wet-nipple action in the newer Spider Man trailer.
    ..man, that sounded wrong.

  • "..." 2002-01-05 19:15:00 I felt like it would be a "blah" day. Unfortunately, my parents(mostly my mom) felt otherwise.
"Honey, check out this want ad for Valve Software!"
"It says it's for a project manager, mom."
    "_Just_read_it_"
    *read*
    "Requires 6mo experience with _other_game_projects".
But no, I can do it because "we have so much faith in you!" Right. Remind me again what faith's good for.

..And I'm finally going to go see LotR tonight. Alone. Because everyone on the damned planet has seen it twice over, except me.

  • "Jump! You can make it!" 2002-01-03 03:03:20 EK: Chalk up another non-fan's pleasure for the X-mas Bebop wallpaper--my mom walks in and squeals at how cute it is.

MarkM: As I noted in Quu's VG guide, you won't be able to read much of a real Dreamcast game using a standard CD drive. I have to admit, Sega pretty much took the piss out of the amateur copy market using nothing more than a custom CD format. Not that it eventually did them all that good.

Urgh. I stayed up until 3am last nightto finally see all three endings in Deus Ex. Man, what a long and fun game it's been.

  • "Men, women, and children, all up against the Wall of Science.." 2002-01-02 02:18:41 I had something witty to say about seeing the works in dokidoki and EK's journals, but it fell flat. Just that I love reading other people's journal entries.

Also, I saw Boogiepop Phantom during New Years Eve, and am proud that I've found a horror show that pulls no punches nor tries to explain itself. I want more. Now.
