Why can't every day be like this?
2002-10-03 22:19:04
I really gotta write in this thing more often, I usually just post in my LiveJournal for my website (which I recently updated if anyone wants to check it out.)
Well, I just returned from RIT's Anime Club that I went to with a friend of mine. If you look past the highly-hiked jeans, lack of deodorant and matted greasy hair, it was actually pretty cool. Although they didn't have any time to play some AMV's, which they usually do apparently, we got to watch a fansub of Nausucaa of the Valley of the Wind. For being old-school anime, it was pretty damn good! I was actually very impressed, that movie has everything that I love anime for. I highly recommend it. I also picked up my first copy of the Evangelion manga, and although I haven't gotten to reading much of it yet, from what I did read it is also classified as pretty damn sweet. I guess that is all for now, I am pretty tired. Hope people like the new site!

Adding "Jackass" makes pretty much any sentence funny and you know it!

The Titan remake is coming along, I have about a minute and a half done now, but I am sure I will go back and change some things later that I find myself liking less and less. I had a thought today for a funny video I could do. Never thought of myself as the "funny video" type, but it is a short song and I personally would like to see a video like it, and that's all that really matters. I always thought I would stick to serious character profiles and such, but I just can't help it. I know it will be an easy project anyway, and I need something I don't need to think about much anyway. Damn school, destroyer of souls and pillager of free time! *sigh* One thing I have found out recently is that the energy drink Red Bull helps out my editing greatly. I first had it on my vacation to the UK, and I am glad they finally brought it to the US. It's kinda expensive ($2.00+ for only 8 oz.), but for what it does it is a worthy sacrifice. Thinking of buying some hosting from Moobies.net. It seems like a pretty good deal, ass cheap, fast as far as I can tell from downloading stuff from there, plus it's dedicated to just AMV hosting so I am pretty sure I won't have to worry about transfer limits. I think I will need it anyway for when my new Titan vid is done, the current one is pretty popular, at least for my standards, and compared to the new one I think it is kinda crappy. Definitly a newbie vid, although that's exactly what it is, seeing as I spent more time on the first 10 seconds of this new video as we did for the entirety of the old one. Still need to update my web page... I think I will get my ass back into updating the anime info sections first, maybe add a new one like Lain since I now have the DVD boxset, plus I don't know of many Lain websites out there anyway. I gotta see if I can get back into contact with Phade about my program that I made a long time ago (it's for cataloging AMV's and regular music videos like you can here, just for your personal collection). I want to get it into the Usefull Files section, and Phade said he would if I could get him a beta copy, but this was back in the day when this site was having a lot of server problems, so I know he was busy at the time. Anyone who knows him personally feel like reminding him about me? :) He has a couple e-mail addresses on this site and I never know which one to use. Man, long post...

Back in the saddle!

I have finally started editing again! I know I don't update this journal very often, I do the blog on my site a lot more, but I am gonna try to get back into this one too. Now that Enigma has gone back to school, we have decided to do remakes of our first 3 vids. We also have a FF9 vid that was coming out pretty well, but we never finished it before summer ended. Enigma has it right now on his comp, so he will probably finish it up himself then send it to me to see what I think. As for the remakes, he took dibs on the Mononoke one, and I got the Titan AE and Eva ones. I will probably be done with at least one of mine before he is, since he lives on campus and has other things to do, while I just sit in my basement taking online courses and editing videos, and watching anime of course. After my little post in the forums to the masters (you know who you are), I got back into the editing groove. I got a good minute done of the Titan vid, although I don't really want to call it "done" quite yet. I have a feeling I am gonna edit it, then go back and add stuff to empty parts, "fleshing it out" as ErMaC put it. Like right now I am at a part of the song where there is about 15 seconds of just music (with not really any defining traits either), and I have two good clips to fill it with, but it just seems kinda empty compared to the rest of the video. I know that is bound to happen anyway, but I am trying to avoid it anyway. I hope people like it when it is done, I know the current version of the Titan vid is pretty popular compared to my other vids, probably because there aren't very many Titan AE vids out there, but I like this new version a lot so far. I am using Premiere this time, plus I have a lot more editing experience now as opposed to before. Can't think of much more, I am still looking for some decent hosting for fairly cheap, I have a couple places I want to look into before commiting to anything like i did last time. Dummy me, I got to learn "unlimited" never means such, the hard way no less. Oh well, we learn from our mistakes. I really need to get back to steady work on my website too.

Less then 24 hours to go...

Almost b-day time. I got the new Linkin Park CD this morning, and I would have to say it is kicking some ass. As much as I dislike rap and some of the songs have some strong rap undertones, altogether it is a super buy. It has the Points of Authority music video on the CD, as well as a template to use to make a Linkin Park fan site, not to mention 17 completely redone songs. I also finally watched the Black Hawk Down DVD I bought a couple of days ago last night, and I must say it is by far an utterly amazing war-based movie. It's completely unadulterated, unedited and most importantly UNGLORIFIED war. I don't think that there is a movie out there that shows more realistically how it is in war. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes war movies, but it is definitely not for the weak hearted. When I say "unedited" I mean it. It has more graphic violence than Braveheart, if you can imagine that. Also, hopefully on my b-day tomorrow I will get myself a copy of the newly-released Evangelion movie, Death and Rebirth. I completely forgot about it until I saw it at the place I bought the Linkin Park CD from this morning, but with my day right around the corner, I decided to wait until everything is settled. Until then, we should have some more Gundam info up pretty soon.

FINALLY!!
2002-07-19 18:07:32
Again, been a long time since I posted here. Did a little updating on the web page today, not much but it's a start. I still have a lot of info to add to the Eva section, but a little at a time. My new comp is kicking some ass and taking names, and I built it myself! :)
The specs for anyone who cares are:
AMD Athlon XP 1900+
FIC AN11 Stealth Motherboard
256 MB DDR RAM (Soon to be upgraded to 512)
80 GB 7200 RPM IBM HD
PNY GForce4 420 MX
16x DVD
24x10x40 CD-RW
No capture card yet, ran out of money. :) I am pretty content with just ripping my DVD's directly for now.
