so i walk into work, and the office is almost empty.
i ask where my boss is
co-worker: he's greiving
me: what? who died?
co worker:you havn't heard
me:...no?
co-worker: jeremy died (another co-worker/friend)
me: no, really, who?
co-worker: jeremy.
co-worker 2: ya, thats why i'm in. i'm filling in
*me thinks they're just fucking with me. we do this shit all the time in the office*
*co-worker 3 walks in*
me: hey ******, is jeremy dead?
co-worker 3: yea...
me: ....o.
co-worker: you ass.

got a call where the lady's computer was running slow. so she rebooted it and didn't know the password to get back in.
me: you know, you're not supposed to reboot any hardware without calling us first.
her: uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ya, i know. but i called twice and it was busy for a long time.
me: really? cause i'm the only tech in the building today - and i havn't had a call in over an hour. (was watching volume 2 of haruhi the whole time. love my job.)
her: well...uhhhh......i had called it was...busy.......

him: heyyyyaaa ; our register isn't scanning cards. i want you to send IBM out here to fix it
me: ... hold on I'LL take a look :|
*logs him out, shuts down computer*
me: ok, now unplug the register's power.
him: ....................................ok, it's unplugged
me: ok, now press the power button to make sure theres no power
him: ok, ya. it's off.
.........
him: ya, it's resetting
*pause* at this point in typing, i just finished the call*
*continue*
me:......wait, what? so is there something on the screen?
him: ya, but it's resetting
me:...............which wire did you unplug?
him: the power just like you said. theres only one wire i've got here.
me: whats on your screen: it just says OFFLINE all across the top
(this means he turned the computer back on, and even re-launched the point of sale application without telling me. nice.)
him: ok, mike, i reset it again!
me: but i want it OFF. and unplugged.
him: theres only one wire and we ONLY have a reset button
*fast forward like 30 seconds of confusion*
him: ok, i've got 3 cords here.
me: unplug the POWER cord.
him: which is that?
me: the others should look like phone cords.
him:..........so which one do i unplug?
me: the fat one
him: the fat one?
me: the fat one.
him: ok, unplugged.
me: great! now goto the front of the register.
him:.....i'm here.
ok, now pull down the panel:
him: in the back, right?
me: no. in the FRONT of the register.
him: but you said the back!
me: no. i want you in the front of the register.
him: ok, now what?
*i walk him through a 5 second restart. not gonna explain it. the short explaination is, i got about 25 seconds of not having to talk to him*
me: ok, now plug it back in:
him: which one?
me: the one you unplugged.
him:............ok
and after that everything was fine :|

her: ok, just making sure. - i was on my computer and everything just STOPPED
me: can you elaborate a but on "stopped"? (thinking: everything? like...time and shit?)
her: i can't do anything (thinking: good. she knows she's useless.)
me: again, can you tell me what you mean by that
her: ya'll was in my computer earlier, and it stopped now
me: can you elabora-.....is your mouse moving?
her: ya, i can move my mouse
me: alright, hold on
*directors into computer, logs her out, logs her back in*
me: ok, you should be fine now
her: bye
