AMVs impress editors... They really do?

Ok this week was my first time as a student of Digital Film & Animation in Vienna. So far so good.
People seam to be impressed about something so simpel like AMVs. Like in every chours there is a welcomeing round where everybody introduces himself. So I introduced myself and explained my hobby. They seam to be intereressted into it.
It's also funny how many people out of 18 (number of students in my class) like anime or have a connection to it. There are some anime watchers and even a japanology student. That was quite a surprise.
It's funny when you walk into collage and someone just comes up to you: "Hey, you're the anime, manga guy, right?"
This is some sort of new situation for me. I never was the guy who had some more experience or knowledge in a chours. Now I am and people like to ask me various things. It would be the ideal situation to get cocky. Well I hope I don't. After all I just have some more experience with editing and that's it. There are also other choures with cameras or audio where I have zero to no experience at all.
At least the guys and girls in my class seam to be alright. -

Hallo österreichische Com!
Ich dachte mir dass ich mal frech Werbung mache für das nächste Event des Anime, Manga und Japankultur-Verein MACO mache ;)
Diesen Freitag (9.10.2009) findet im Schubertkino in Graz das Anime Film Fest statt. Für einen günstigen (1) Preis könnt ihr großartige Anime Filme im Schubertkino genießen. Unter anderem führen wir Genius Party und Mindgame vor (2). Wem die großartigen Filme nicht genügen kann sich auf eine AMV-Vorführung in einem Kinosaal freuen. Ganz ehrlich: Wer von euch will sich das nicht live geben? ;)
Das ganze findet von 16:00 bis 24:00 statt.

The ability to get over somebody is strongly connected to the abilities to lie to yourself, to ignore important things, to forget something and to supress something.
I bet some might also say that to lie to yourself is also an ability that's connected to love..., but let's just not be that cynic this time.
Wonderfull isn't it? I'm full of enthusiasm again.... >_>

said the advertising... Do we really need it? Mike Shinoda made with Fort Minor something worthy. Hey he's a rapper and he rapped in his project. Chester is a singer and I don't see a reason to start a new project. What can he do what he can't with Linkin Park? Singing? Yeah sure...
Chester was cool years ago. He lost my respect with is new style with the perfedic earrings.
Meh... What's happening to my musical "heroes" or let's say in general: musical artists (because some of them are clearly not my heroes)?
-Linkin Park... god you know the story.
-Marilyn Manson. Two more or less uninteressting albums in a row? At least the new one sucks ass. >_> The bad thing is that I really think that it can only come worse from now on.
-Muse... ok they don't suck, but it gives me the creeps when they said: "We found a lot of inspiration of the hard R'n'B beats of Timberland." Ugh... Ok to be fair: It worked very nice for the song where I clearly notice the influence. Still: It's fucking Timberland!
-Static X: Cannibal was just a mess of an album. YUK. Nothing Static X like at all.
-Slipknot: I love Slubliminal Verses Vol. 3, but the new album is bad.
-Kidney Thieves: Come on Free! You said that you're in the studio years ago. PLEASE release something again >_>
...and when Nine Inch Nails evolves into this direction it's time to cut of one of my ears to pay tribute to the "old" days. I think I really find less and less new artists that I like. Most of them are older than 9 years.
