This might be a reason why I don't edit that much lately, because to achieve fun and joy I can choose way more simple ways like gameing. I think this is pretty much true and it's important to realize it for yourself. Come on people. A lot of you DO think this way. However don't worry! This is a phenomenon for a lot of internet hobbies.

I agree for the most parts. I don't think that's why people stopped to watch anime. Personally most of the time I enjoy the shows that I could use for my videos the most. That's not too abnormal for me. I always enjoy most what I could use somewhere. Might it be in video related stuff or other stuff that interest me. If I have the choice between some anime and the one that I could use for an amv, I would definatly pick the one for amvs.
Oh! That doesn't mean that I saw any Shinkai anime yet. So much to amv-source stereotypes xD
I don't think that people copy Nostromo's style or try to hard. Nostromo made an amv style popular that just works this way with it's sync and oh well: Pretty pictures.

I should have clarified it more. Let me be more specific now. I mean people who took this hobby and art discussion too serious. They shouldn't vote for this video, because it would made them to total hypocrits and people who don't have any principles at all. Heck... if people see it as artsy than alright, but those critics should stand with their opinion or change it forever.
Basically this video is... random more aggressive music, random anime, in a random mash up with some effects. There is nothing artsy about it beside the controversity. It's a great video and it embodies the "do this stuff you like faggot" feeling of editing and that makes it great.

As far as I understood your video, Chiii:
You were pissed of about the whole art discussion. Someone flamed you that mixing multiple animes with a random song =/= artistic and not a good amv at all. So you were pissed and made this one.
And my conclusion to your answer is: You never wanted to make this look artistic. You wanted to make something random, but good that shows the bs-talkers that a good amv doesn't have to be artsy at all. Or something. Oh and that some shiny effects or darker effects is automaticly taken as artistic.
With this in my mind... I really like your video, but if we vote for it as Most Artistic we make unintentionaly fun of ourselves =P
You would pwn the whole .org! With all my joy for this vid, but I can't let you do this =D -
VCA semi final thoughts

Thank you very much for supporting my video "Being A Superstar" in the first round! It got into Best Character Profile, Best Horror and oh... Best Dramatic? The last category really surprised me, but in the end... yes there is quite a lot drama in the video too.
So... if you think it deserved to be in the finals of any of these categories: Don't forget to vote :3 I apprecite to see that you apprecite my work. xD
I'm happy that you DIDN'T voted it into Best Story Telling. I saw it got suggested a few times in the forums for this category and I didn't said something important because I was interessted how far it will go. The truth about "Being A Superstar". It's a character/situational profile. Not a story. There is no story. A lot of people mistake it and that's my own fault. So if it would have been voted into Best Storytelling than it would be the UBER FAIL of my personal skills of creating a concept. I'm glad it didn't came that far, even if it would have highly amused me in the end.

As far as semi finals goes... I don't miss any video that I really cared for in a category. I will pimp some other videos at the end of this entry, but for now: The odd/good things in the semi finals.

Okay. I didn't saw the making of, but it would be HIGHLY annoying to see this win in Best Horror or to see it in the finals. Why? Because it's a bloody making of and the original video already WON the VCA for Best Horror last year!

How do I vote? First I vote for the videos that I think that deserved to be in the finals (not only those that fully deserve to win), than I fill up the rest of the 5 votes up with sympathy votes. Sympathy votes don't come in every category. Like... In Best Storytelling I only choosed one video (Evangelion Complex). That's not really circle jerking. I don't expect anybody to give me sympathy votes too, but you can vote for me if you want too xD

This year I reached my goals with the semi finals in Best Character Profile and Best Horror. Finals would be great, but it's good to have already reached my goals.
