Oh I love indy-I feel special-crap! I just like it :3
Though I know so many nerds that just hate any popular stuff. Why? I even know a nerdy girl that dumped a guy, because he got almost aggressiv while trying to convince her NOT to listen to popular stuff and convincing her for some post rock shit. I mean how dumb is that? She almost is a bit unconfident to say that she just likes popular music as nerd.
That's really sad. There is so much pseudo elitsm. We all think that this hobby is full of elitsts, right? I think the world of music consumers is even more full of elitsts who just think that THEIR music is the only right one.
Sure I have also my own opinion about good music, but there is the point were you shouldn't cross the line.
Let's make a MEP with pop music xD OH! I also think that con people just want to see videos with popular music. A lot of YouTube crap with super crap in it has popular music. *sigh* Just don't condemn pop stuff guys.
My editing theory lector said something really smart:
"The fact that you heard about it probably already made you a part of the mainstream. I like to be part of the mainstream, because there is also money in it."
We are used to specific editing that tells a story in a film (like fade to black = time jump in the story). If we can't follow a story because of the editing than it's not part of the mainstream.
Maybe people just forcefully want to fit into the role of a nerd. I remember some girls saying: "No, we are nerds! We don't go out for a drink and stuff."
What? What's wrong with you? They said it like it was a part of being a nerd. How ridicolous. Well I just went out that day and had a lot of fun xP

There are moments where I think: "Wow that song is so great, I just have to search the org for a video with it, even if it is a crappy one"
and guess what? There is no friggin video with this awesome song. Sometimes I really have to wonder what songs actually get overlooked in amvs. The band is even a really popular one and is a released single of this band and WAS in the charts some years ago. Even the tube doesn't seam to have one video with it (Searchmethod: "<Song title> AMV"). That's just... wow... I almost can't believe it.
It's like... no one except me made the combination of Perfect Blue + "Mr. Superstar" by Marilyn Manson and that combo is so obvious for me.
one day i really have to make a video with this song

sweet. I will get some Jobs for cutting industrial music videos. I made an agreement with my indie film project coordinator. I said that he can count on me if something like this needs to be done. Oh I will also get paied for it.
Fine. I hope that I can also integrate my own music video ideas for this productions and that I can also direct some of them. =)

yayz I inspire Code! :3
It's really nice to see that I can inspire people even if... and I know it! ... this person doesn't even is that much into my (at least the musical) taste. That's cool. That's awesome. Wow!
Now when I think about it... I can remember about Code back to 2006.
+++++
I think it is a good idea to look back. I don't even know if internet changed me a lot. I know that I was a walking noob cliche <2004 and that I was a pissy teenager in 2005 (oh yeah was I pissy -.-'). Mhm... in 2006-2007 I got more elitist.
Most influences came from real life. Like from persons that I met in real life, but without the internet I probably wouldn't in this club and friend circle today. Maybe I would, but definatly not if I wouldn't edit.
There was one big discussion in 2007 that probably changed me the most from all the internet discussions. It was an intense lesson about the difference between an audience and editor experience while watching a video at a con. It was really helpfull, but a lot of flame too xD Yes I'm guilty for the flame =p
There is even one good friend who has the link to one posts of this thread, pinned with a sticky note (the virtual ones >>) on his Mac desktop with the words "Bauzi EPIC post" underneath it.
Anything that I regret? Oh maybe some pointless browser games and a loss of my eyesight quality. Ah I think I wouldn't change anything to get a different personality. It's fine as it is due to internet.
