Dissonance - Really pleasing and succesful too?
2011-09-27 17:51:25
We've just finished my short film Dissonance. Well almost. Due to MASSIVE hardware requirements and less than 7 days for the whole post production we had to skip some parts of the fx (render times of 60 hours.... oh-my-god...) and sound design needs some tweaking.
but hey! It's done and we get our teacher's feedback on Monday. In the end it turned out really great and I really dig it. So for now we have to wait a bit, before I can begin working on a Director's cut and public release. In the end I still have to spend days for my final test and I want to spend some days with my gf of course. Some things just are more important, right?
The next steps will a proper public announcement
Sending it to various contests and film festivals (why not?)
Thinking about extending it and reshot it to a feature length movie. In the original script I have planned for way more content and meaning in the movie. We had to turn it down because of time problems, not enough money and manpower (not everybody is willing to help young students who don't have any money...). The story is nice and original. There should be some promotion and support in it for a feature length movie. At least I can try it!!!
AMV wise? You have to understand that my film cours was the most stressful thing I ever did in my whole life. It's sooo time consuming, but I enjoy it. It's awesome, but there isn't any time for AMVs. Sry.
At this year's AniNite many people asked if I submited a video and why I actually didn't. They obviously still know me. Even a cute girl asked for a photo with me lol. I'm not the best or most important AMV editor in the world, but I'm quite good and I have people out there who want to see new videos and I really do want to create them. My film course is a great tool to extend my ideas and get me forward. It's more than time to use this knowledge for good.
I partially really don't enjoy AMVs lately. Or this "pop style". It's just my opinion and don't get upset. I see so many of some of my musical taste to get used in AMVs and it so much disapoints me every time. It dissaoints me that the video doesn't do any justice to the power and intensity of the music. I just need to create a video that I like, that I enjoy, you know?

Dissonance - coming October
2011-08-24 18:44:10
I have so many stuff to do for my final months of my film editing class. For my endproject, I make a shortfilm together with my friend and I will tell you: It will be tha shiat! We're working really hard on it.
You can see it probably in October when we will release the directors cut on the internet. There is no talking, so don't fear any language barriers in this video ;D

Video quickie collab with... Scrubs?
2011-07-13 18:00:15
Hey there,
Today I made a fast video collab with my friend Axel. We had to make a short character profile for our AVID course. The video had to be based on some Scrubs episodes that we had on Mini-DV tapes. Anway... AVID sucks in my opinion and after some hours of work we got a surprisingly nice video which is already online on my YouTube channel:

Also this week I also have to share with you my first real 3D project, an ad of a camera of my choice. Of course I picked my lovely EOS 7D:

Cubed - An EOS 7D fan commercial in 3D
2011-07-10 05:02:34
This is pretty much what I did in the last two months:

It's a 3D project that I had to do in my Maya course. The challenge was to make a commercial for a camera in 3D. Everybody warned me to not do a DSLR camera model. I did it anyway and succeeded.
I've used the song "Scrub Me Mama With A Boogie Beat" by 64revolt. They were so kind to let me use their song when I've asked them for permission. They are probably one of my most favourite electronic bands out there. 8bit + female vocals, it's what all you 8bit and electronic music fans should check out:

I should mention that they are so awesome that you can even get their music for free. However you can still support them and just buy their work ;D
