  • Connecting with the people I won't see for years ahead... 2003-06-15 20:32:13 I had a best friend all throughout elementary school clear up to our freshman year of college. Between her getting academic probation and getting a live in boyfriend all in the second month of our first quarter ( O_O She had known him for 2 weeks so I was like....*_* that) she left college and since then I have talked to her...rather infrequently and seen her maybe....8 or 9 times in the last 6 years.

I went to the Dirt Track races with her last night and it was almost kinda like the old days but nowadays she has a kid.

Luckily the 4 year old was spending the night at her friend's house so we were able to attend the 6 hour long races in (relative) peace. It was 6 hours long! Lots of wrecks to the point it was annoying. The late model stock racers were very fast and very exciting. The 4 cylinder heats and 'loser laps' were very boring...ya know...the rice engines....but junkyard styling. ^__^

I'd love to get in on the powder puff races or a demolition derby, it looks like loads of fun.

Anyway the point is, since I am moving really far away, we are going to spend some time together over the summer, go toobin, gossip about the status of our former classmates and such. Hopefully camping even. Making up for lost time and probably the last chances anyway.

In other news, the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point is having major problems right now and has been shut down for a couple weeks. Thankfully I got to ride it once before I left Ohio....and onto Knott's berry Farm in Cali :) I have been to CP 18+ times. It was getting old anyway.
  • And some news...big changes for me 2003-06-11 18:45:00 I...am going to be moving to Southern California this year.

It's not really sudden but it will be quite a change for me. A Ohioan moving out to a city only an hour away from L.A??? Well...it's scaring me to death but I am also excited to death. I can't wait to see the Queen Mary, see the desert, some cacti, the rocky mountains and the Pacific ocean! My sister in law told me it's a lot different than the Atlantic which I thought was incredible but pretty tame waves.

I have been told the sun is a different color and the heat feels different. Heat in Ohio is usually very humid.

Finally FINALLY I will be able to get those jobs I have went to college for!

    Ahh change is exciting. ^_^
  • I re-read the shaddow world thread flint posted 2003-06-11 18:37:33 ...and realized I never even replied to Xenodrake!

If only that forum was still the happy place it used to be....but...it's been torn apart.....*sniffs*

It's like someone took the harp away from Happy Valley
<--challenges anyone to get that reference

Well at least the threads are still there.
  • >_< 2003-06-07 17:57:16 Flint, where the heck are you? You are missing the greatest commercial ever! And here I made a thread for you and everything....

Well, my Otakon entry is still up in the air. I haven't gotten any replies from anyone I have asked so I guess I just have to wait. I don't really care if it makes it into the contest or not....I just want it to play at the con. *sniff*

Well, if it doesn't get in, I'll just release it to the web early. Or maybe I'll send it to AWA expo...never have sent an entry there mostly because I can't attend.

Since Fungie wants to see my Slayers amv, I think I'll sacrifice video quality and release a version here in the next few days. It's an older amv but it hasn't been seen by hardly anyone....so that makes it new to you :p
  • wow..poor Flint 2003-06-06 20:40:16 I am going to cook up that photoshop image for you right now flint ^_^ And even a 'present' in the form of a video file I think you'll really like....I'll have a thread for you started by Saturday afternoon, so look for it :)

That is pretty expensive...there are cheaper schools even with the residence fees included. Best of luck

Chaos, don't take what I said personally...I read that thread but I wasn't really referring to that. Sometimes girls just need to stop worrying if people will like the way they look (though it would help if men didn't value it so much ;P ). A lot of people treat others based on looks....but no one worth being friends with would turn you away for that in the first place.

....Just showing my 'after school special' side....

On the family front, my grandpa was given 4 days to live by the doctor if he didn't start on dialysis. Thankfully, he did. That should calm them down for awhile now that they can stop circling his hospital bed...

sigh....it's not going to be so much a problem for me soon though. I will almost surely be moving out of the state by the end of this year. Right now it looks like Utah ( O_O scared....) but it could be elsewhere. This is due to flight schools. That...will be weird.
