Tonight I honor a pet. Poor Fred, beloved CD holder and statue (only 3 people reading this are going to get that) was only adopted 3 months ago.

Fred died last night, another guinea pig lost...

He had mites, a guinea pig specific mite that gets to the brain. He didn't scratch until they had already gotten to him and it was too late.

As if any of you didn't know how evil Pet Land is in so many ways, know that guinea pigs from Pet Land almost always have mites or a skin infection that is a fungus. We had Kuno die from the same thing earlier this year. Fred was adopted (yeah pretty corny, but he was old) from a dorm girl in Athens who was moving back home and couldn't take him.

I suspect they smoked marijuana quite frequently because of his very very odd personality. Fred seriously acted like a human that had taken a few too many hits, but he was small and young when they got him. He'd freak out for absolutely no reason at all on occasion. It was amusing but I wonder how bad the nerves were really mis-firing in his piggy mind.
He would sit and let you pose him, holding CDs on his head and staring....staring...

We knew he was dying this whole week. He got to spend some time in the grass his last night but I am not sure he even knew where he was.

On the good side, Dutch, the Sneak, and Kia are doing fine. Dutch is getting heavy and (being the floozy she is) is most likely pregnant with Fred's kids. They won't be born into a Pet Land, so they won't have the mites, their mom and the others so far have a clean bill of health.

  • 'the heck? 2003-08-26 19:14:24 What? Why did you people vote for the banner that mocks you?

Is the Otakon contest crowd voting here?

It's tricky all over again *rolls eyes til they hurt* ow
  • I'd also like to say... 2003-08-25 20:04:48 I know 'about' a couple banners up there for voting.

I would like to say that I STILL am keeping an average of 99% vote down. I get the jokes :p but some people don't seem to be able to comprehend the sarcasm...

still .....*banishes majority of banners into the ether*
  • ..you just had to have been there... 2003-08-25 19:38:13 that I have to move from Athens to Columbus Ohio, I need to find a way to transport stuff. I have lived in Athens since 1999. I actually don't have a lot of stuff per say...but I own a sedan. Not really capable of moving anything bigger than a chair or two...at ...a ...time.

Kevin has a 1989 Chevy S-10 Blazer. You wouldn't know it because he doesn't drive it much. It has it's share of problems. Still, it has a good engine he says.

Taking this into account, we need it to get to Athens first from it's cozy home in the fields of Muskingum county where it has been chatting with a small camper home for about 3 months. By this I mean it has practically grown roots. We..didn't find that out until later.

So we go up there for a double reason of picking up some money that needs to be collected and mailed to my sister and we took stuff up to store in the camper, acting sort of like a psuedo storage facility.

Upon arrival we are to jump start the truck, take it to my aunt's house and pick up a loveseat we are to bring to sell to (at least one of ) the incoming hoards of new students here in Athens.

Sounds easy...what happens is that the truck will not soak up any juice. Perhaps because as a chevy truck, it is too proud to take a jump start from a small mercury luxury sedan? Whatever the reason we had to go down to my aunts to get the couch and try and bring it up while the truck's battery charged. Did I mention that it's 2 AM? :p

We hand carry the couch about 100 feet to my car as she lives down off the long drive way (all gravel) and into the woods. It's too dark to take my car down there and there is no place to back up, her car was blocking the way. We stick it halfway into the trunk and brainstorm ways to get this thing up the drive. A car comes along the road...slows and stops (remember the time) I yell out, do you need some help? And intimidated by oddness of the situation, they speed away.

My aunt laughed as we decided to do this: I'll drive the car slowly up the gravel driveway (it's a hill :3 ) and Kevin can hold on and walk.

5mph is hard to go in the car but I managed, even though Kevin said he was jogging by the end.

The truck had been very dangerously ^.^ set to idle on a decline while we did all this. Actually, it was in park with a bowling trophy on the pedal *_* to keep it from dying....I said "It would be spectacular if that truck took off" It would roar away towards the trees with an incredible finish....and would be quite funny and yet horrible to witness such a thing if the vehicle was yours. And anyone not awake from the roaring engine of a 4.3 V6 truck engine would surely awaken after that.

It was content in it's spot when we arrived so we hoisted the couch in and Kevin put it in drive...expecting to be on our way soon.

No chance...the right front tire was flat...and then when he put the truck in drive it died. -_-

So we very veery painfully pushed it back into it's "spot". Kevin had taken out the spare for the couch so he goes back about 20, 30 feet and launches it towards the truck saying "Go back to your mom". I say "Your truck is a girl?......Kevin it missed the truck!"

It was crashing through the field of weeds in the darkness, Kevin taking off after it. It didn't hit the pine tree either, instead continues on past the drive and picks up speed, to land with a loud, satisfying CRASH into the side of my uncle's trailer....and his monsterous live-in was asleep inside.

I was laughing so hard I had to go into my mom's house to compose myself and to avoid any banshee like calls that might pierce the darkness after that fiasco.

Oh geez...I think I'll just stop now.

The result, the truck is still at my mom's house, the couch inside it, and I am here in athens...for just one more week.

  • A monumentous Step 2003-08-21 19:08:22 Ok...Now I don't wanna be a hypocrite...I think I hate that more than anything.

But today I made a decision.

Being at a big crossroads in my life, and saving up the money to move STILL ( I am still moving just delayed) I have been wanting to start my own production company for awhile now.

I even researched and found that you can sell your soul right away and start your own business (get the money but they loaner OWNS you) or take the time to build up the cash.

Well, I came up with a name 2 years ago that died in it's original purpose.

I still have the avatar to prove the existence of the mascot.

I decided to copyright the word. I want to use it for my production house name...in real life... and it will have nothing to do with anime.

But I thought it was pretty cool.

So now, I have updated my profile to add the studio name to myself, AniVasion.

It seemed small but I typed it in and sat there staring at it for about 2 or 3 minutes with my finger over the add button.

I have done jobs before, even a wedding and got paid for it but didn't do a heavy job editing....so that qualifies me for something....I hope....

In short I feel a little stupid naming myself seeing as how I have not yet bought the equipment for a major house. But it's going to happen since frankly...I hate working for other people. I love to work but for myself and on my own terms. (though...with clients you still have to follow their rules) and since I am about as low finance wise as I have ever been right now so it's time to 'do what I have to do'...-_-...heh.
