JOURNAL: MistyCaldwell (Misty Caldwell)

  • Sleep deprived, and for once not going to work the night away 2002-06-01 01:38:54 My new Orange road video is 60% done. It's tough to put down making a video just for something trivial like sleep. :p But tomorrow is an early day and I can't chance being to sleepy and sleep in.

Not many people have made or seen Orange Road let alone an amv of it. Back in 1999, a girl named Lara Hoffman (I think) made a great one to Van Halen's "Dance the night away". SO far I have not seen this person on the catalog.
It's significant because her video had a bunch of great scenes. I tried to stay away from using any of them in mine, but 2 scenes HAD to go in. They are 2 very important ones and one of them is edited fairly similar to hers. My reason was because there were subtitles married to the video so I had no choice but to cut it up and it just ends up looking like her clips for 2 cuts.

I can't wait to send this one off. PLUS I got an actual DVD of the Seisouhen Kenshin OVA today so I can redo that video in high quality.

I want to get them done quick to send them to the ailing Bakuretsucon (spelling)

I'm also getting a sneak peek at an Excel Saga AMV done by a friend. Hopefully he finishes soon so everyone here can see a very original dramatic excel video.

  • Yes, I saw Star wars at 12:01 on Wednesday night 2002-05-16 05:33:24 Does that make me a geek?

Anyway, I never watched the 1st movie. I saw some parts and I couldn't stand it. However, I decided to give episode 2 a try since the trailers looked so much better and plus I had heard from a rogue review a month ago how good it supposedly was.

I was NOT about to download some crappy copy off DC. I went to see it in a nice AMC theater.

I am highly impressed. Some people have said it has a bad plot. I can see some rough parts, but I have seen the original 3 before. Keeping that in mind, it added so much more character and understanding to the characters and total story overall.

Just so no one will kill me I won't put any spoilers in here but I have my favorite parts. These include (spoilers free)

-They played some Darth Vader music at a very appropriate and powerful moment

-The camera angles during the end fight scene were innovative and war like, I liked them

-Some guy in the credits was named Assmus <--true! I forget his first name

  • Drunk driver outside my window.... 2002-05-01 04:49:33 This happened earlier this evening. I decided to add it here and share some of the nuances of my life. It's now 4:40 ( I am a late night owl) and the crumpled truck is still there as well as cops::::

Of course we all know it's bad but just now I had a chance to see it first hand.

I go to college and sitting here in my apartment just now (well, like 15 minutes ago now) there was a huge crack, the lights flickered and I went to my open window. There was another loud crack and the computer reset, the lights flickered and I was left looking at a now dark street.

I was not the only one awake but one of the first out there. 5 people ran out along with me, then the crowd grew slowly and the cops were there in 2 minutes. But before then we checked it out so see if he was ok. The guy's face was crushed, there was blood everywhere and he was moaning and smelled of alcohol.

Some girls who shouldn't have looked did and I can still hear them crying on the sidewalk (I am a girl but even though it bothers me, I am more appalled at the whole thing and less upset by his bloodied and broken face)

I heard everything and the guy never even put on his breaks. He just hit two poles and they are just now taking him away (heard the siren) since he went unconcious not long after they used the jaws to get him out.

It's 2:00 am. The bars just closed. Who is to blame for this? The bartender? The guy's life that may cause him to get so plastered on a Tuesday night he almost kills himself, albeit by accident?

No matter how messed up your life is people, you can only go screw it up by getting drunk off your @$$ and driving around town. If he had money problems, how much is his hospital bill going to be tonight once they put his face back together? And his truck's frame is bent like h---, the truck is totaled. That will cost him. If his life was bad before, it can't be better now.

He wasn't wearing a set belt so he hit his windshield...at least the damage to his face and the blood there suggest that. He was not wearing one one I saw him, less than 30 seconds after the accident.

I have nothing against drinking, in your own home. Instead of a pole he could have hit a person. Then instead of 2 cracked poles, I could have seen someone die. No matter how bad your life is, no matter how much you may want to get away from home and have some "fun with your drinking pals" you have no right to put someone else in danger and you should have more respect for your own life and belongings than to throw it away into a beer as the the bartender shouts last call.

The darn front page! It's all done!

?why do I always work myself all night I wonder?
  • 2002-04-14 18:20:17 I think it's interesting how far one's nation and it's ideals go so deep into the mind of an individual in that nation.

The constitution and it's right to free expression and speech goes so far into it's people it becomes a part of them and their own ideals. Other nations have this same thing, especially opressive ones. I don't know how many people here remember the fall of the Soviet Union but many of the citizens preferred communism to democracy because it was part of "them".

People seem to think that these rules should apply anywhere and everywhere they go.

We have labels like private and public to define where these inalienable rights start and stop but it makes no difference when those individuals do not or can not recognize the difference.

Fighting over rights in private property is just pointless. No more than you'd go into someone else's home, that they pay for and may offer you a welcome spot there, would you then tell them how to run their house without expecting to be booted out on your rump to the curb.

Arguing your point or opinion to a receptive host is one thing. Telling an owner they have every right, no right, does not make sense when they have every right to run their place in any fashion they wish.

In fact, it may just make them mad.
