JOURNAL: Digital_Dojo (John Crabtree)

  • <<<:::>>> 2002-04-09 17:42:05 I feel for you devo. I haven't had a job this past year. Luckily I still live with my parents, so it's not so bad. I got my first interview tomorrow at 3. My first in a VERY long time....

    meh...

Frost, you review is coming. I have 4 more people that reviewed one of my videos that I owe reviews. After I get them done, you are next in line. Give me about 4 days.

You gotta love getting behind on reviews...

Project Rip-Off has been put on hold for an indefinate(??) amount of time. I have another idea that will work alot better, and be more fun to make. I'll start capturing as soon as I get the next 2 DVD's of Battle Athletes Victory tomorrow. I am saying the video should be ready in about 2 weeks. The song I'm using is 3:48, so this will be my shortest video....^_^

    good luck to you devo...

let me go check out Sarahtheboring's videos...

  • <<<<<YES>>>>> 2002-04-09 09:59:21 I know the day is only half over, but it's been a good day so far. I went to check the mail, and my Request magazine as here. I'm a replay member at Suncoast, and I get a magazine every 2 months. Anyway, there was an anime section in this issue. Plus it came with a free disk that has the first episode of "Yu Yu Hakusho", and some previews on it. Nothing is better than free anime, even if I have seen it before. It previewed a very cool looking anime called "Blue Gender." I'm going to have to check out that one. I went by Food Lion afterwards to pickup some bread and drinks, and this cashier chick must have wanted my incredible body becuase she walked me around the store, and helped me find everything, even though I already knew where it was. Then she opened up a register, and gave me a disocount. I only paid $2 for 2 loaves of Bread and 2 2liter Dr. Peppers. Any normal guy might would have taken advantage of this situation, and on any other day, I would have too. But today all I could think about the whole time was, I need to hurry up and get home so I can see whats on the disc I got, and look at the anime section in my magazine....^_^ Maybe my priorities are backwards, but anime comes first over almost anything. She was an assistant location manager . Damn, I should have asked her for a job while I was there. I didn't think about then, because I was so anxious to get home....

I just sold my Playstation for $60. It's been sitting under my bed gathering dust for the past year and a half, ever since I got my PS2. So, I'm going to get the next 2 volumes of Battle Athletes Victory from Suncoast tomorrow. I might pick up the 2nd volume of Vampire Princess Miyu while I'm there, since they are having a special on TokyoPop animes, and I will get 2000 bonus points for buying it...

    And that's my mid-day report for 2002-04-09...

I think this is my longest entry to date...

  • awesome... 2002-04-08 20:10:27 Battle Athletes Victory was awesome, the first 4 episodes anyway. I will have the next few DVDs before this week is out. I will find something I can sell, since I only have $6 to my name. You gotta love not having a job. I almost fell off the couch laughing when Akari fell over on her bike as soon as Ichan(?? not sure how to spell it) let go. Akari I think has beat out Shampoo as my favorite female anime character. Ayla was cool too. I think she could be Sephiroth's sister. She just has that kind of coolness factor. Overall, I give the first 4 episodes of Battle Athletes Victoy 9/10 DD's. Well, let me go add it to my Top 10 Anime list....

I'm off to dl Omnistrata's vids also. Expect a couple reviews in the next few days...

  • Project Rip-Off (finale) 2002-04-08 14:37:22 It's official. I've decided to attempt a FF9 using "#1 Crush" by Garbage. The song has only been used twice, and never been used for a FF video. I'm hoping its not going to fall apart once I start, but I have a feeling that this is going to be a hard video to make. And that's the final post of Project Rip-Off...

I got another video idea today. It's kind of a sequel to my "Tonight" video. It would be called "The Day After." I would use scenes of people sleeping, looking sick, or exhausted from all the partying they did the night before. There's a couple of songs by The New Duncan Imperials that would fit the theme. It would be a very silly video, and I have never done a comedy video. This is all just me thinking out loud, and I don't have any intentions on doing this video just yet. If my FF9 project falls apart, it will be my backup project.

I bought the first DVD of Battle Athletes Victory today. I'm going to watch it tonight, and it might lead to a video in the future. The DVDs are only $13, and there are only 8 of them. I never seen it, but i'm sure it's worth $13. Aluminum rated it 7/10, and he led me down the right path with the Lain series, so I trust his ratings...

So overall, it's been a pretty productive day. In terms of anime anyway. I still don't have job, but hopefully someone will call back about the applications I turned in today...

  • enough about Project Rip-Off already... 2002-04-07 19:33:25 I think maybe I shouldn't do a FF9 vid3 First, I couldn't find a decent song, then I couldn't come up with an idea, and now for some reason I can't rip the FMV's off of the discs3 I can rip them from FF7, and every other game I have, but it always says unsupported filestream when I try to rip from FF93 Maybe this is a sign, and I shouldn't do this video, or maybe this is a test to see if I am willing to go through hell to make this video, or maybe i'm reading too much into all of this333

btw, i didn't use any periods in that first paragraph. I replaced them all with 3's.

I reviewed 2 videos today. jbone's "Harsh Reality" and Great Wang's "Clash and a Promise." Both were very good, especially jbone's.

I'm going to review Tobinhood's X video soon, but I could only get a dl speed of about 4 k/s, and I didn't want to wait 2 1/2 hours for it dl. I will start it before bed tonight, and hopefully it will be done in the morning...

I couldn't get Zontique's video links to work, so I can't give him a review yet, and I have decided which one of Backfire's videos I want to do. After these last two I will be caught up on my reviews. Unless my video gets more reviews tonight. I always do reviews for the people who review my videos, even if it wasn't a review swap. Don't you wish everyone was like that...^_^
