Effectioness Textorial Writing...(how's that for a creative name Omni..)
2002-08-04 19:32:49
How do you come up with these names Omni?
"Revelation Break", "Tapestry Allusion"....
The effect names are better than most video names I've seen. I still need my own custom effect. I think I kinda have one. I seem to be about the only one to use ALOT of freezeframes. When I put a fading strobe on a video, and then freeze the image, like taking a picture. I've done that alot throughout most of my videos. I haven't really seen it done that much, but then again I haven't seen what I would consider a lot of amvs. I suppose that's more of a theme than a custom effect though, since I've used in most of my vids. I'm going to come up with one for F(t)tR though. I will have the ultimate effect hopefully. Let's just wait and see....
I plan on reviewing "Moonlight Vengeance" tonight, so expect that later on....
Now to got work some more on my vid...

Damnit Man!!!
2002-08-04 00:57:26
Okay, finally I got my preview to export out with the Mircosoft DV codec after redoing the intro, and a few of the clips near the end. I then put that export back into Premiere and exported it out as a .wmv since I couldn't do that to start with. Anyway, the result is a 2.28 mb video preview of my new vid. It's the first 1:25 of it. I'm satisfied with this first little section. There's a few timing errors I need to work out, but nothing major. So its release ready. Keep in mind that the video is horrible quality full screen, but looks decent in it's small window. And it skips a little too, but not enough to throw off my timing too bad....
And this is hosted on a geocities free account, so I'm sure it's going to pass my very small hourly bandwidth rather quickly, but just try again in an hour. And please let me know what you think. That's the whole point behind releasing this preview, to see what you all think I should change. Just PM me, or send me an email Digital_dojos@yahoo.com ....or just post in your journal..
so here it is. The Preview to "Noise in my Head"
Don't worry, no spoilers yet....

"It stinks"

I sure am glad I can't export my new video. I was only looking foward to being able to get out of Premiere. I have about the first 1:30 done, and I was going to export out a small .wmv file probably about 3 mb at the most just to get a few responses and see what you think so far. But ofcourse everytime I try to export out the video Premiere crashes. I tried skipping the titles and everything, no matter where I start the work area, it always crashes when I'm trying to export. Well, not always, when I try to export with Cinepak, the status bar just sits there while the time climbs up and up and up constantly. I know that it shouldn't take my comp 19 hrs to export out 1 minute of footage. That's just not right. So now I'm at a loss for words. My footage must be corrupted. I'm going to go through, and replace everything on the timeline. Hopefully it will work then, if not I know my footage is corrupted. I really, REALLY don't want to go back and have to capture everything all over again. That will be such a pain. Perhaps I can just run all of my clips through virtualdub or something instead....
<sighs>....
I hate Premiere with a passion. It is the devil. So why can't I tear myself away from it??????????????

If that's what you want......

After much thought, and many hours of straining out brains discussing english, Devo and I have the offical definition of the word "meh..."
and without any more stalling...

No real news to add on to my new vid. I've spent the last couple hours just retiming a few things that I noticed were a couple beats off. Modified the first 1:13 a bit, and now that whole amatuerish feel I was talking about is gone. It seems more professional now that I've cleaned up a few things, and better timed a bit. It's still my favorite vid of my vids so far. At this pace, this might be the first of my vids to make it onto my Favorite AMVs list....
btw, I'm not sure what the title of this entry has to do with anything. That's just what I felt like calling it....

More like it...

> "But I really feel this video is the most powerful one I've ever made. I mean, I almost made myself cry at one part. I have never, ever done that before."
Almost made yourself cry, huh? Never seen a video like that before. I suppose the closest thing to ever come close to making me cry would be "Crossroads" by Aluminum. You certainly won't cry during this amatuer bunch of mess i'm throwing together right now...^_^
It's so emotionless that it's just funny. That's not that bad for this type of video though. It's just more of a hardcore action experiment in synching. I'm loving it though. It's the most fun I've ever had with editting a video. Since it's just an action vid with no real emotion, there's no real pressure in trying to sustain a certain type of mood. I can throw just about any clip down, and slap a solarize filter on it with a strobe here and there, and it fits perfect. Not that I'm doing that though. I am trying to keep it professional, but the furthur I go into it, the more amatuer it seems to be getting, and the more fun I'm having doing it. I felt the same way while editting "Onyou no Yume" though. I still do. It just seems so amatuerish when I watch it. I think "Tonight" was a better video, but that shows how off my opinion is. "Onyou no Yume" got much higher reviews. As much as I'm liking this one, it will probably review all ones....^_^.
After about two more hours of editting I'm now up to the 1:13 point. That's about normal speed. 5 secs in 2 hours. Unlike that whole first minute that just flew by. It's seems like that whole first minute made itself.....
Got your new vid dl'ed Devo. It was good. I throughly enjoyed it. I must say though, that it is ironic that the day I start working on an Eva vid, you release your Eva vid, not to mention that CShadow will probably be starting his Eva vid soon too. We must all 3 ride on the same train of thought....^_^' I'll get you a review up soon. Have to review "Moonlight Vengeance" first though. Don't worry Omni, it's coming....
