random thought of the moment
2002-07-24 00:44:26
part of an AIM conversation:
EK: I have a good one called "chocolate Jesus"
me: I can't imagine that product going over well... little kids would bite off the Jesuses' heads like they do to chocolate bunnies. Adults would bite off the chocolate Jesus heads as a direct attack on organized religion. The church would condemn the product, and the Pope would excommunicate the leaders of the industry which supported such a product. It'd be sheer, utter madness.
Yes. I'm a freak.

Woohoo! I'm one of like 5 people who knows how to access the new site before it's available. ^_^

Whoops... should have been "Hangman Records Dimmer Theater" (with two "m"s). Doesn't that sound more fun?

Music bonanza!

Stopped by the local used CD store and picked up some good stuff today:
* Electric Light Orchestra - Time (really needed this album...)
* Garbage - Version 2.0 (meant to but this one much sooner)
* Dimitri from Paris - Monsieur Dimitri's De-Luxe House of Funk (nice light-electronic dance technolike music with frequent vochal texture, though I think I might prefer his latest album)
On the way home, stopped at the local "crap store" which is closing (the weird old man running it is retiring). CDs were _50 cents_ each! I grabbed a whold bunch of stuff, some I'd never even heard of:
* What's New, Linda? (a "not-for-sale" compilation album
* Weapon of Choice (not the Fatboy Slim song)
* 4 Non Blondes - Bigger, Better, Faster, More!
* Fatboy Slim - The Rockafeller Skank (single)
* Spew vs. Spew: The Remixes (hopefully some of the remix tracks will be good)
* Hangman Records Dinner Theater (the track named "The Toilet" sold me on it)
* Jazz Pizazz (a jazz compilation of songs unfamiliar to me)
* New Fast Automatic Daffodils - Body Exit Mind (saw the band's name and just _had_ to buy it)
* Toad the Wet Sprocket - Fear
* Two other CDs without jewel cases or any text on them whatsoever, but which had really cool artwork. One is like an awkwardly-smirking samurai clown face, the other has a sort of feathered dragon and some "Nightmare Before Christmas"-esque pencillike sketching.
All in all, quite a successful day. Might post an mp3 or two at some point.

mp3 is down...would've been down sooner, but I'd forgotten about it. :)
