Random thought:
The transition from the full version of Successful Mission (the opening them to Saber Marionette J) to Monkey Wrench by Foo Fighters is extremely sweet.
Now, for other crap.
I don't think I'm going to worry about AVIs for now. MPEGs are much more reliable and aren't as prone to encoding errors as AVIs are (I'm still sore because, no matter how many times I uninstall DivX 5 and XviD and re-install DivX 3.11 alpha, I can't watch Silver_Moon's videos. AAARRRRGH!!).
So, even though they are bigger, I think I will stick with MPEGs, at least until I can find out how to get AVI encoding to work for me. I've got MPEGs down nicely, so I think I will stick with what is working for me, for now.
I've also finally gotten around to watching Outlaw Star. The box set I ordered came in last week or so, and I've finally gotten around to watching it. I liked it on Cartoon Network, but the uncut Japanese version is ten times better thus far. I love it.
Although, I do like the VAs for Melfina, Suzuka, and Aisha. Aisha's in particular, I like. Granted, it doesn't sound anything like the original Japanese actor's voice, but it has it's own charm.
I'm still gonna watch the Japanese version, though. Gene and Jim VAs are just bad. Japanese Gene does a much better job and the voice fits better.
Oh, and the CDs I ordered came in. I now own FLCL OSTs 1 and 2. And, while I own Trigun 1, I was pissed to discover that it was NOT the imported versions like the others, but the Overseas version. CRAP!! THE JAPANESE VERSIONS HAS MORE SONGS ON IT TOO!! AARRRGH!!
::stress::
Oh, well. I suppose for saving 10 bucks, I shouldn't complain too much. Better than nothing.
Bastards... It even has a differnt name! It's not "First Donuts", it's "Spicy Stewed Donuts"!
::stress::
Oh, well. At least I have it!!
I'll bet they took songs off of the other discs to make a third disc so they can make more money...
Bitches.
>_<
Oh, well.

Ooh-ooh!! Great iodea for improving the forums!!
Instant account deletion with no warning for people who claim their opinion is more valuable than someone else's based solely upon post count.
Or anyone who uses post count as a form of rank.
I like that idea... ^_^

Maybe when the forums come back, I should enquire about becoming a mod...
...Lessee... I know nothing about programming, so unless Phade has a special system for letting people with no programming knowledge act as a mod, that's out.
Well, maybe. I'll think about it. After all, the worst that can happen is that he'll say no.

Since I can't go to the forums to say my piece about this, I shall do so here.

Personally, I think the forums should be brought back. Their value as a place of communication and gathering shouldn't be disregarded because of a few people. However, I too am sick and tired of all of the negativity that had been infecting the forums. So, I for one would support something like this.
Bring back the forums, but become MUCH more strict on the IP banning. If someone is obviously trolling, randomly insulting people, or in any other making the forums a place that people no longer wish to frequent, then ban their IP addresses or restrict them from the forums. I don't mean just do it on the first offense, a three-strike rule maybe, but I do agree that a stronger no-negativity clause would be necessary in order to make the forums a place that people would enjoy spending time in and discussing various topics of interest.
Or maybe nothing so severe as IP banning. Maybe just more post deletions, thread removal, etc. Or a combination of the two.
I'd be all for stricter policies concerning negativity myself. The forums have been degrading for some time now, ever since the inflow of spammers and people who spend their time on the forums being as intentionally insulting and degrading to everyone as they can.
-_-
Sigh. I hope the forums come back, but with something to stop these people from making it no fun for anyone else.
Like instant account deletion for anyone who creates a thread just to attack someone else.
I'm only half-kidding on that last one.

I have begun exploring the world of AVIs.
I have up until now beebn making MPEGS for distribution. I like MPEGS because they can be read by anything, whereas AVIs can have all kinds of encoding problems, if you don't have the right codec, etc. I haven't been able to watch Silver_Moon's videos I downloaded because I can't get the codec to work, for example.
Still, AVIs are much smaller than MPEGS, so I have begun looking into the details of AVI creation. I've gotten a process for MPEGS down, thanks to ErMaC's guide, but his guide was of little help with the AVI's. So, this one is all on me.
I've been experimenting with Nandub. I discovered that it can make nice looking AVI's while ripping the clean Eva opening for YCSTR. So, I am practicing with that. I will also try it with Virtualdub, since I can't find how to choose different codecs with Nandub. Or some combination of the two... we'll see.
