I have a distinct feeling that I am going to be maxing out my supply of action clips for this one... ^_^
So far, my anime list consists of Bastard, End of Evangelion, Transformers the Movie, Tenchi the Movie 1, Outlaw Star, and Akira, but I also have plans for Cowboy Bebop, Tenchi Muyo, Jin-Roh, Princess Mononoke, FLCL, Eva TV, Escaflowne the Movie, and Hellsing (the beginning section screams Hellsing to me).

I am going to try and save space by only ripping off the chapters I need (thank GOD Smartripper has a chapter selection feature!!), but even then, I may need to start burning off AMVs to CD to get more space. I have been planning to burn my AMVs and the HuffYuv video exports that I keep on hand in case I want to re-encode when I get a DVD-R/RW, but I may need to reclaim the 12-odd GB of HD space that my AMVs take up by burning them off to CD.

So, yeah, This video is pure, mindless action, using a song that has not been entered into the org yet (one song by this group has like ten videos made to it, and about four with another, but none with the song I am using!! ::glee::). I am LOVING working on this video!! I've decided to keep it totally effectless, save for speed changes, including transparency overlays. Straight cuts only, no soft transitions, no altering the original images through effects (again, except for speed): just pure anime. It's my personal rebellion against the inferiority complex I get from watching SRV and Euphoria. No offense to Koop and AD, I love the videos, I greatly respect the insane amount of work AD and Koop have done, but I know that it's not how I think, and I'm tired of feeling like mine won't be any good because I don't follow that style. I'm more of a Kusoyaro, MTT, and VladGPohnert-style editor (can you feel the hubris... ::shame::); I don't think in terms of effects much of the time. Hell, a bunch of the time, when I put in effects, it's to spice up a scene that doesn't feel like it's flowing right to me, like when I put the strobes in my new OMG vid. I don't use effects for meaning; I use them as filler and eye-candy.
I'm not saying that I'll never use digital effects again, just that I am tired of using them the way I had been: because I felt that the video would suck and be horrible and absolutely unwatchable without them. Fuck that. <Sinfest> I'ma get my edit on how I want to, yo. </Sinfest>.
I seem to be in an unordinarily positive mood at the moment... I don't think I've said that I suck once in this entire entry...
I'll do better next time. ;)
I love this video so far, I only hope the rest of it turns out as it is in my mind's general perception of how I want it.
BTW, woot for accidental synchs!! I just dropped Dark Schneider in a place, and it synched pretty well to what the singer was saying. I like it, so I'm keeping it. I also got Asuka to synch well enough by slowing her down a tad, although that really isn't accidental. Also, I put a scene of Tetsuo walking through fire in one place just because I thought it'd look cool, and it turned out to be a practically perfect character-synch with the lyrics ("You're on a downward slide, my friend").

I started a new video!! Weee...
I actually really like this one so far. SarahtheBoring got me thinking, and I decided to just have fun with it, rather than worry about it being "good" or not. I've had this idea for awhile now, and I'm going for it and just planning to have fun with it. It's turning out ok so far.
Here's hoping. ::crosses fingers::
