It seems I can never quite get to sleep at night.
...dammit, I have to work tomorrow... I can't work on homework right now... picked the wrong damn journals for my psych articles and I can't use the ones I chose... they have to be technical journals, not popular magazine articles.

I'm gonna hang around on the forums until I feel sleepy, I guess. Or work on my medley mix. It's pretty interesting so far, but Premiere decided to ignore volume changes for some unholy reason, so my audio transitions all sound like crap unless I export the audio.

I suppose it's gonna be an interesting video, to say the least. I think, however, that it'll take me awhile to finish. I am thinking that once I finish arranging the audio, I may just wait until after school is out for the semester to work on the video itself. The first three sections are going to be character-focused, with mild-to-no effects, the third one has a very interesting transition to what will be a short, effects-heavy mood piece, and that fourth piece has no follow up yet, and technically, what is currently the first three sections may not actually end up as the first three in the final product because I still need to find something to use as an opener. I also need something to transition the current fourth piece to, and something that can transition stylistically to my already-completed timing and synch-oriented effectless mad-pumpin' action piece, which I think I want to be the end. Although, in light of the songs that I am using for the medley currently, I am not sure that said action-piece will actually fit in terms of the music style and how it blends with the other songs. Well, if it doesn't mesh, then I will release it as a mini-vid. No biggie.
'Course, given the fact that my website is down and will stay down due to financial concerns, I may have to see if I can host the mini-vid through Angelfire if I release it that way. I can't upload it to the Carrot due to the graphic content clause (It uses Asuka's Last Stand from EoE, which has much bloodshed, and the Head Crusher scene from the series when Eva-01 fought/massacared Bardiel. If heads being crushed, with eyes and teeth flying everywhere, faces being jammed through buildings, legs being sliced off, and blood gushing all over a city street isn't considered graphic content, I don't wanna know what is. ::fears::)
Guess I'm gonna be late to work due to sleeping through the alarm again... fuck.

...I crashed AVISynth...

I was working on the video, and then certain AVSs suddenly came up sayng that they had read errors. I was exporting something as an uncompressed AVI, and it completely fucked up. The first segment had the clip cuts all out of place, other segments had the read error screen poppiung up all over the place... Gods, it was horrible... teh horror...
I shut down Premiere, and I am going to shut down my computer and give it some down time whilst I am at work tonight.
In other news...
I've completely revamped my approach to this video. Entirely. I have cut down the song to about 45-50 seconds of audio, all the choice juicy parts, editted it a bit to make it flow better (I place a bit at the end before a bit at the middle, and placed the end of the song at the end of that) and it is now 45 seconds of choice pumpin' action. It's completely put together and finished.
Now, for the other news.
While thinking earlier today (while browsing Transaformers toys at Walmart, if you must know ^_^), I was thinking that I don't like how short the whole video will be with the slow parts cut out, but neither do I want to mess with them. That's when I remembered an idea I had about a month or so ago and have been keeping in the back of my head for awhile. So, I am going to go through with it, and what was originally going to be single video will now be part of a medley vid. I am going to take some snippets of songs and piece them together into a medley. I intend to edit each section individually (then export the footage as uncompressed AVIs and delete the AVSs and VOBs to save space), and then combine all of them afterwards into one medley of different songs and styles. I want it to be as diverse in music genre as possible, but still coherent. I already have ideas for song sections, so we'll see how I can manage to get them put together, won't we?

Certain sections of this song simply give me no ideas for footage, and are dead space compared to the heavier, more fun parts.
The entire idea is to have fun.
Parts of this song are not fun.
Three options.
(1) Cut them.
-Removes the dead space, also leaves no set-up.
(2)Keep them and deal with it.
-Ick. I don't wanna deal with these parts. I love the heavy action sections, the comparatively slower parts I can live without.
(3)Shorten them and still keep them in.
-Probably the best compromise between maintaining my interest in working on this video (yes, I hate the slow parts that much) and leaving some set-up so it doesn't just jump right in to the action.
Not that there's any plot at all... it's pure mindlessness, which is why it's so fun to make. Insert action clips, synch to music, enjoy teh awesome explosions and such. ^_^
Ok, I've decided. I'm gonna shorten the thing and not fuck with parts of the song that give me no ideas whatsoever and that I hate and absolutely do not want to mess with. The song is originally about 3:45; I estimate that after I make some cuts, it'll be about 2:30.
What is it with me and short songs lately? I don't think I've made a video over 3 minutes since Troubles in Wonderland...
I blame my ADD. Also, I hate messing with parts of the song that give me absolutely no ideas and will basically be filler.
I hate filler.
I suppose eventually, I'll have to just knuckle down and deal with it. But, for now, snip, snip, snip!! ^_^
