Olive's new album...
2002-02-20 18:07:01
Finally got around to putting this one in the CD player (back to taking the train!) - Olive's got two albums that I know of - "Extra Virgin" and this one, "Trickle" - and it's all good.
Having AMV on the brain don't help at all. Three of the tracks in the middle could make a kickin' suite - they did a cover of 10cc's "I'm Not In Love" that would make a nice Faye piece.
One for my master, one for my dame...and one for the guy who lives in LA....

*has to explain why she's giggling like a maniac at work*
Not fair.

Congrats to the winners! Looks like I agreed with a whole lotta folks.
EK - the l lb. bag of M & M's can, in a pinch, be used as a substitute for sleep. Combined with an expresso, it can be almost be considered rocket fuel.
And the only way that one logo could have gotten any happier was if it had been oh, say, yellow or pink. *shudders*
Since there is nothing left to stay up for - going to sack my happy ass out.
Sweet dreams...smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Consider this a test of the site using Galeon for Linux - it seems to do a good job of replacing IE, at least it behaves for Phade's requirements for IE for functionality on this site.
*Wonders what it will do with Travelocity*
How EK's cat got its name has to be a good story.
Spaghetti O's for lunch. Gawd, I hate being broke.

Lazy Monday Afternoon....
2002-02-18 18:24:51
Got the big elephant out of the way this morning - so this afternoon, since most of the customers are not even in their offices today (I am! I am!) the phone is quiet, the email is ditto and I can continue to migrate over to the Linux machine now sitting next to the Windows98 machine I've used for two years.
I can't wait. Sylpheed kicks Outlook's ass all to hell and breakfast, doesn't need rebooting and does more for less all around. The very few things I *can't* run under Linux can run in a VMWare window and it runs very well - if you allow that Windows is evil enough to kill a Linux session even within a virtual window....
The only thing I haven't found (and I know it's out there) is a replacement for IE. As you might expect, Netscape is the browser of choice and anything Microsoft is EVIL and to be avoided at all costs.
I wonder if Premiere has a Linux version....
amizadai - depression often masquerades as anxiety, careful there...pressure may make diamonds, but it's hell on your soul. I love to work too, but you and I both know that on our deathbeds, we won't ask to spend another day at the office. I dump more work on myself when I'm not happy with what progress I'm making on current projects and then kick even harder when I realize what I've done. Can't do well with what I have, can only do a half-ass job on the additional tasks...not pretty, all round. And then, usually, a flu or cold bug bites me and everything hits the toliet. Sounds like you need a day in bed to read silly things, drink tea and watch anime to your heart's content. Hope you get it (or something like it) soon. Balance.
tetzlaff - The 405 is the highway to hell. It will suck your life dry - stay away from it if you at all can. Have you been down to Marukai in Gardena yet? Take Pacific Hwy (or Sepulveda Blvd.) to Artesia Blvd. and drive to Western - Marukai is on the SW corner. I also heartily recommend the nearest Mitsuwa center - and if you wish a lovely afternoon with no cash required (except a few bucks to park, maybe) - pack a lunch and drive to Alameda off the 10 freeway and drive up to 1st Street, park and walk. In particular, the courtyard outside the Japanese-American Cultural Center often has this or that going on - check with them and show up when they've got a carnival or event going on.
I love Los Angeles, I guess you couldn't tell - and I'm a good tour guide. I enjoy it!
In the award department, I notice that the server sneered at Phade again and made him delay the end to voting. For the record, I downloaded *every* video humanly possible on the ballot and watched them before voting. Did my level best to be as impartial as possible. For those who had videos up for voting, think well of me - I just submitted a work Jim and I have been working on for two years for voting consideration (Ranma fan fiction) for the first time -
But I have to wait a week for it to show up. *crosses fingers* Hope the moderator doesn't lose it in the meantime. If you're curious, keep an eye on the rec.arts.anime.creative newsgroup.
