  • I Am Not As Slick As I Think I Am 2002-03-30 22:36:26 I am so tired... of... screwing with... all these programs...

So far, I've tried a combination of FlaskMpeg, DvdDecryptor, SmartRipper, TMPGenc, DVD2AVI, VFAPI, VirtualDub, DivX, and DVDx. Nothing is giving me the results I want. Well, the actual ripping is going well... The quality is nice and high, but I can't seem to get the conversion from VOB to AVI to go over well. Well, actually, it's when I import a converted AVI into premeire and export a clip of it (so I know what my music video quality will be) is when I get problems. The video is so glitchy and crappy. So many codecs and so many programs... Many an hour spent screwing with options...

I'm really tired of this crap. It looks like my pathetic attempt at being slick as fallen through... I thought I'd be slick and just rip everything from my brand new DVD drive, which I bought for the sole purpose of AMV's, but I'm obviously going to have to break down and buy a video capture card.

I might have been able to work this all out had ANDRES HELPED ME OUT! He won't answer any of my questions. He ripped all the Trigun DVD's and made an absolutely beautiful video... But no help from him. Oh well.
  • DVD Drive Came Out Of Nowhere 2002-03-28 17:04:41 I didn't expect to get any of the stuff I ordered until next week... And didn't expect to get the DVD drive at ALL. Yet here it came, and oh so convienently on my first day of Spring Break. And so I begin to rip my Trigun DVD's in preparation for a comedy video... Yay.
  • DVD Drive Not On The Way 2002-03-27 21:37:53 TigerDirect just told me that my stuff is being shipped... But I'm suspicious that perhaps they are out of stock on that DVD drive. Blarg...

I'm trying to find a really goofy song for a Trigun comedy video, but I haven't come up with much... If anyone has any suggestions, e-mail me. If it's an idea you plan on using, um, don't tell me. I might use it. And you might not get credit. But you might. Who nows.
  • DVD Drive On The Way 2002-03-24 22:17:40 I'm awaiting for supposedly "the fastest dvd drive in the world" to arrive at my door. Yay. It makes more sense then buying a video capture card (for now, anyway). I'll rip my Trigun DVD's and start a comedy video. My first venture into anime...

I figure that comedy should be pretty easy, and a good way to get used to the use of transitions and maybe even a few effects (don't see why I'd need effects for this one, but might as well).

I was testing out effects and transitions and taking notes. I got on AIM to tell a fellow Digital Opus Studios member about something and ended up distracted until 2 in the morning, damn it...

Should get all the stuff I ordered by Friday. Happy me.

  • Damn, I Love My Setup 2002-03-22 18:33:05 Just got a new desk, monitor, chair, and sound card. I'm lovin' it...

Anyway, my newer version of my only video has now replaced the older, which can officially be considered a limited edition. Not that it matters, since the newer one is better. Only three things have changed: I cut about 1 second of video out that should have been cut (I forgot), the credit screen at the end fits the screen ratio better, and the sound quality has gone up (I think) since I used the track from the CD instead of relying on a download (originally, Adobe wouldn't let me import my CD track, I had to download it).

    And there it is...
