Life goes on.
2002-06-02 21:24:57
I start driver's ed tomorrow. I'm indifferent about it, I don't really care. Right now, it's just another thing keeping me from going to AWA, and I want it out of the way as soon as possible, along with the 40 hours I need to get my license.
Got 3 DVD's left to rip/encode/capture... And I missed a clip I wanted, so I have to rip a DVD I already had done.
I got the demo of Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault yesterday... It friggin' rules. I'm in the process of getting the full game, can't wait until it's done. It's been a while since I've gotten into a good game.
Well, one thing's for sure, after Nanashi's short description of his time at JACON, I have to admit I was jealous. It was like a dream that almost came true when I almost went to JACON, and it's a bit depressing that I didn't get to simply because my parents said no. Franklin and Linus (who I WOULD HAVE gone with if I had permission) had a ball, apparently, and the Toastmasters of www.morethantoast.com won a crapload of awards, all of which I missed. I really wanted to be there to congratulate them, because I already knew they would win something. Some day, some day...

Southern Rock Woodstock
2002-06-01 23:10:33
In accordance with my prior journal entry, where I swore to get a life and become a more social individual, I suddenly up and decided to go to a concert today. And so I went to the Southern Rock Woodstock.
It had some kickass bands. A combination of .38 Special, Blackfoot, and some others and get this: MY DAD! Yes, my dad plays with some legends of rock. He's the oddball of the group.
It was almost as good as Family Values Tour 2001, ALMOST. If had been at the concert the whole time and seen ALL of the bands, it might've been just as good if not better. When Jade (the band combo from above) played Sweet Emotions by Aerosmith it blew me away... Friggin' awesome when you're right in front of the speakers, trust me. Gotta love that shockwave we call heavy bass.
Then the "main event" occurred, which rocked my fuckin' socks off. That "main event" included the people above plus Lynyrd Skynyrd (however you spell it). Yeah... it rocked.
Here's something that boggles my mind. Women, all over the place, flashing their titties to everyone who'll look, and I never got to see any. I'm almost 18 for Christ's sake, and I have never seen a naked breast in my life (in person). Every time, they were at an odd angle, or there was some dork with a cowboy hat in front of me, or something similarly retarded. All in all, it was a pleasant experience, despite coming home with a headache.
Pictures of it will be up when I scan them in.

Another journal entry from your friendly neighborhood idiot.
2002-06-01 01:10:34
Nothing has really happened lately, nothing much to speak of. I don't know why I'm even making a journal entry. I guess I'll run down the events of the day.
Captured from DVD rip (halfway done ripping/capturing now).
Fortified plans for AWA, which now include Andres from Cleancut Studios bunking with us.
So now it's Chris (Ere Cell Studios), Eiji (Digital Opus Studios), Andres (Cleancut Studios), and a friend of Chris'.
Almost suffered a heat stroke due to my room being the depths of hell during summer.
Lightning and thunder prevented me from wasting more time in front of the computer screen, so I sat down and played the original Resident Evil (ah, good times, good times).
Tweaked and fine-tuned our site.
Which is also the point of this entry, OUR SITE IS UP. Yes, it's a free, crappy, template site with 20 megs of hosting. And get this: 20 megs of bandwidth. HAHAHAHA! Well, anyway, I wrote a big-ass FAQ on my method of video creation, and set up a huge links page that should be hella useful to AMV creators. It's chock-full of software, sites, and convention info.

I do believe all of those people are the same. Check out the journal entries below mine. That's pretty stupid.

Whee!
2002-05-30 15:43:20
Billy Joel sucks. Just joking.
Well, I'm much happier than I was early yesterday. :) ;)
Got half my exams done today. Do another tomorrow, leave early, take last exam on Wednesday I believe. Then I'm out of that muthafugga.
Ripped and encoded another DVD last night... I hate it. So much. It's holding me back so much having to rip these things. I guess the quality is worth it. Take it from me: Do not pursue an AMV from DVD rips if you're using a large series. Don't do it. Save yourself.
