2010 vca's have just started and already ppl are seemingly just gonna vote for friends or other studio memebers videos without regards to what really deserves a vote. I'm not even gonna bother participating this time around.

IC editing..
2009-12-15 15:22:06
So today I decided I'd try ICing or iron chefing a vid for the first time. Gave myself audio, source, and 10 hours worth of editing. I managed to finish a 3 minute song but its all basic cuts and no FX. I remember sitting there for 30 minutes trying to think of FX for this one scene and ended up realizing 30 minutes past and was like OSHI, and just stuck with basic cuts. I'll admit some of my time was spent taking breaks though so I didn't edit the FULL 10 hours. It was pretty intense to say the least. I don't know how you people do it. It took everything I had just to keep in my damn chair.
Seriously though... I can finish a 3 minute vid under pressure in 10 hours but I cant even finish a 2 minute trailer AMV that has less than 10 seconds left on it? I don't understand myself.
Well regardless I don't consider the vid all that bad for a test run IC. Though I probably had it easy cause I just picked a audio/source combo I thought about doing a long time ago and it mixed well. Probably harder when your just given a random song.
Not sure if I want to even upload it.

Needz spare cell phone batteries plox.

Today at work I saw/talked to a chick cosplaying as Rosette Christopher from chrono crusade. It's cool to see people cosplay for halloween. It's the one day out of the year we can do it and not be considered weird anywhere. She was pretty cool, WHY DID MY CELL PHONE BATTERY HAVE TO BE DEAD. /wrist.

Defrag,
2009-09-05 02:31:11
is a double edged sword. Technically speaking it can both increase your HD life or it can wear it out faster.
If your running defrag every day then your just unreasonably causing stress on the HD by doing lots of file accessing and management.
If your using it say once a month then your keeping your files organized so that (Example:)File "A" isn't split into 50 places on the hardrive causing a total of 50 access points when the file is in use instead of say 3 access points after defraging which will obviously make the HD last longer.
I don't know why its so hard to understand. When something is in heavy use it wears faster. When a file is being accessed in more places the HD wears faster. When your running defrag and accessing/managing files ALL over the HD then your in turn wearing it faster though in the long run your increasing the lifespan unless your doing it every day which would probably have a more negative effect.
