Chapter 6 "The Complex"

Chapter 6 “The Complex”
Setup: They are heading toward the complex through the forest.
Trig: Well at least the beam saber is going to use.
<Trig is cutting down tree branches and shrubbery in the way.>
Crice: I’m kind of curious as to why I have a sniper rifle when were going in a building.
Billy: Your not going in with that. That’s no ordinary sniper rifle either, it’s a pulse sniper rifle equipped with a heat scope and a sound scope. You use the heat scope to find targets then the sound scope to find the targets heart. The pulse will literally shut down the heart.
Jeff: What about me, what’s my gun do?
Billy: it’s a shock gun. It should kill just about anything as long as you keep it on the target for about 5 seconds or until you think you have barbequed him enough. It takes another 3 seconds to recharge. Try not to overheat it.
Jeff: So how come you get the big chain gun?
Billy: Because I can handle it. It can shoot 6000 rounds per minute at about three times the speed of sound. Its called the M61 Vulcan which was usually equipped on planes during the past wars. All though this version is technologically advanced. It has about one ton worth of recoil at its peak fire rate and the ammo is basically just very small metal balls. Thanks to the size of the ammo I can carry 30,000 shells in this back pack.
Jeff: So you can fire for a whole five minutes. That’s kind of stupid isn’t it?
Billy: This mission is code Orange, I fear they gave me this gun for ample defense when necessary.
Jean: Ok, so what’s mine do?
Billy: Your actually holding an experimental auto shotgun. The spread is quite large. Unfortunately due to the size of the bullets you can only hold 10 extra clips. Each clip has 15 bullets in it. The gun fires one time per second to avoid intense recoil.
Jean: Cool…
<Jean cocks the gun and starts checking it out.>
<The next moment trig cuts the last bush in the way of the complex. There is a wide open parking lot that has withered from time and the complex’s walls also show effects of erosion.>
Billy: Crice, check the complex and tell me if you see any thing.
<Crice lays down in sniping position while switching on the heat scope.>
Crice: There are many heat sources but none of them are moving.
Billy: All right, Crice find a safe vantage point. You are our eyes and ears while we are in the complex.
Crice: Ok… good luck guys!
Billy: Trig you and Jeff lead, Jean try and cover our backs.
Team: Roger!
<Billy, Jeff, Jean, and Trig start moving towards the complex.>
Trig: I take it were going through the front doors?
Billy: Sure, why not?
Trig: How are we going to fit through that?
<They all notice they are a lot taller then the doors.>
Billy: Hmmm…
<Billy positions himself in front of the doors and engages his prongs for assault mode.>
Billy: Time for some demolition, ghetto style.
<Cocks his chain gun and pulls it up into firing position. The chamber starts spinning rapidly. Debris soon starts flying everywhere as the chain gun rips away the wall.>
Jeff: Holy shit!
Trig: Get down!
<After about 15 seconds worth of firing the dust starts to clear. They get up and examine the door, or what’s left of it anyways.>
Billy: Hmmm… Not bad, <notices the ammo reading on the gun.> 28,533 bullets left.
Trig: Lil trigger happy their don’t you think?
Jeff: Well whatever didn’t know we were coming knows were coming now.
<Jeff steps inside the complex and notices a mainframe next to a reception desk in the central part of the hallways. The rest step in after him and examine everything around.>
Jeff: I should be able to get the files from…
<Jeff’s voice is interrupted instantly by sharp sounds from the vents above pouring into their ears.>
Crice: We got 4 tyrants on the move heading toward your position.
Billy: Watch the vents! Crice don’t worry about opening fire on them yet just worry about watching our surroundings. If you open fire then you greatly increase the risk of us getting hit from behind. Pick your times when to shoot and when to observe wisely.
<The pounding and clattering sounds from the vents are getting closer… and closer… stop.>
Trig: What the hell?!
Crice: The heat sources are their still, they are right on top of you.
Jean: I don’t like this…
Billy: Jeff start getting those files, and for our sake… Hurry!
Jeff: Right!

Chapter 5 "Meet the Mechs"
2005-10-11 20:43:03
Chapter 5 “Meet the Mechs”
<The squad follows him while the racket from the machines grows louder as they approach the mechs. They reach some stairs that lead up to the hatches fro the mech and the commander stops.>
Lieutenant: Umm.. Ladies and gentlemen I expect you to use coman since as well as your intelligence today. A kid almost drowned earlier today because he decided to fill the hatch with liquid before he set himself up.
Phil: What an idiot.
Lieutenant: Regardless your training is over for the new people I see, you know who you are. If you have questions ask the experienced people in you squad.
<Checks his clipboard…>
Lieutenant: Ok lets start with mech assignments, I’m going to call your name and the mech number will follow, don’t forget your number. Ok… Billy 1, Mike 2, Trig 3, Matt 4, Phil 5, Jean 6, Becca 7, Nina 8, Jeff 9, Crice 10.
(The mechs varied in size, shape, and weaponry. The way they worked was very complex, when inside the hatch the pilot puts on the mask with a virtual reality visor. The mask projects onto the visor what ever the mech sees. The pilot puts on an arm and leg, VR gloves that capture the movements of the pilot and gives the pilot a since of reality when touching or putting pressure against on object using the mech. The pilot also has a belt to be equipped with similar VR replica weapons that the mech is equipped with. When the pilot picks them up and uses them, the mech corresponds in the same exact way. Big weapons are usually put on a bar in front of the pilot. If the pilot picks them up the mech is auto programmed to realize what the pilot has done. The hatch is filled with a very chemically thin liquid, Thinner then water. Since the density of the liquid is low the pilots mobility in the mech on the ball which he runs and moves on is almost that of being in the real world. The water has almost no effect on the pilots mobility. They are able to run, jump, and do almost any action inside the mech.)
Trig: Ummm… There must be some kind of mistake here, I only have two pistols for weapons on my mech.
Lieutenant: Trig… It shows that you scored triple of that of the average accuracy ratings. I guess command wants to see you wield dual 5.55 rapid action magnums. They are the best pistols known to man trig. Not to mention they put 10 extra clips on your ammo belt as well. Each clip holds 15 bullets.
Trig: I see… what happens when I run out of bullets?
Billy: That black device on your ammo belt is a sword that converges energy into a dense beam of fire. Basically a light saber.
Lieutenant: Yes, they determined that it would be your best bet for a melee encounter. As for the rest of you, you all have certain special weapons and equipment specifically designed for what you are good at.
<Everyone is walking around examining their mechs.>
(I am avoiding any detailed description of what I would like the mechs to look like because I want people to be creative and use their own imaginations.)
Lieutenant: Ok… The explanation is over. It’s time people. Suite up and fill the hatch.
<Everyone climbs into their hatches and puts on their suites, then the hatch closes.>
Lieutenant: This is the lieutenant, I’m communicating through radio frequencies. Your helmets can be used to communicate to each other or to command, which is me.
Crice: Testing… 1.. 2.. 3..
Lieutenant: Very funny Crice. Ok, press the big red button on the ceiling to fill your hatches.
<The hatches fill up completely and the hoses connected to the back of the mechs disconnect and fall to the floor.>
Lieutenant: Has everyones virtual visor been activated?
Everyone in Sequence: Unit 1 here, all systems green. Unit 2 here, Green. Unit 3 here, all green. Unit 4 here, I’m lit like a Christmas tree. Unit 5 here, Get er donneee yehaaaawww! Unit 6 here, locked and loaded. Unit 7 here, ready to roll. Unit 8 here, all systems go. Unit 9 here, It’s go time!
Unit 10 here, Lets get someeee!
Lieutenant: Good to see everyone in high spirits. Ok, everyone board the AMAT.
Mike: Advanced Mech Air Transporter.
<Everyone walks up the ramp into the giant aircraft.>
Lieutenant: That’s correct, Alpha sit on the right. Beta on the left.
Pilot: Y’all ready? Don’t forget to equip your landing jet packs. Ha ha ha, it be kinda stupid to jump out and die from the fall.
<Everyone puts on the jetpacks as the aircraft takes off using the giant rotating thrusters out of the hanger and into the calm blue sky.>
Pilot: We got 10 minutes before we reach the drop point so take a breather or say your last prayers whichever works best for you, heh.
Mike: Switching to team communication only good luck Bill.
Billy: Same to you.
Trig: So what’s going on?
Billy: Nothing, just switched to team communication. We can only hear each other for now.
Pilot: Damn! I’m going to have to drop you guys off a bit earlier then expected another team around your drop point is under heavy attack. I’m bringing them onto the comm. link now.
Delta team leader: <Spoken with gunshots, auto rifles, and explosions going off in the background.> Command! This is team Delta, were not going to last much longer! We need immediate pickup NOW! Have a med team ready, we have one MIA and two are severely injured. Our locator beacon has been activated, were just… Ahhhhhh! <Slashing sounds.>
Pilot: Commencing drop NOW! Sorry guys but your going to have to run the rest of the way!
<The floor beneath where the mechs were sitting opens.>
Billy: JUMP!
<Everyone without thinking instantly jumps out of the ship.>
Trig: Can I get a brief explanation of how the jetpack works before I BECOME A PANCAKE?!
Billy: The two handles in front of you, grab them! There are buttons on top of them. Press them both at the same time to thrust up.
<They all slowly fall down pushing the thrust buttons every now and then to slow their decent.>
Billy: When you hear a beeping sound press the buttons in and hold them till you touch ground.
Jean: I can see the complex!
<Computer: *Beep* *Beep* Warning Impact Imminent. *Beep* *Beep*>
Billy: Now!
<They engage their thrusters and slowly the descending stops right above the ground.>
Trig: Ground, sweet ground.
Jean: Where’s Beta?
Jeff: Must of lost them in the confusion.
Billy: Don’t matter, stick to the mission.
Crice: The complex isn’t that far.
Trig: Well standing here isn’t getting us any closer. Lets go.

Chapter 4 "Mission Briefing"
2005-10-11 19:36:54
Chapter 4 “Mission Briefing”
Setup: Beta and Alpha enter the room with 10 desks and a computer screen in the front. The Commander was waiting for them.
Commander: Sit!
<They all rush to a seat and sit awaiting the next order.>
Commander: From what I’ve seen so far I can’t believe you guys have been assigned a mission. You are adults, now act like one! The fighting ends here because you are going to be on this mission together do I make myself clear?
Everyone: Yes, Sir!
Commander: All right I’m gonna give you guys the mission synapses, just watch the screen.
<The computer screen turns on and a movie starts.>
(The opening is a huge building complex, its White and is divided by two zones.
Commander: The left side, this is zone one, Beta will be exploring this side. The right side, this is zone two, Alpha will be exploring this side. You will recover any documents or computer files you come by. I’m sure you are all familiar with the virus threat reconnaissance planes. They take pictures using ultraviolet light to determine how bad the virus is in the area. Threat levels are in this order: Code White, Yellow, Orange, and Red, with white being the lowest threat and red being the highest threat. This complex’s threat level is Orange. This is not to be taken lightly. Each team has a computer specialist incase you come by a computer to leech information from. You have been given your orders, report to the crew suiting room A.S.A.P. You depart in one hour. Dismissed.
<Everyone walks out and heads to the crew suiting room.>
Jean: You didn’t have to do that Trig. I didn’t mind him.
Trig: He had it coming anyways.
<They stop in front of the crew quarters.>
(Women on the left and men on the right)
Crice: Guess we will see you on the other side suited up. Laters…
<Crice and Jean wave and enter the room with the female members of Beta.>
Beta member#1: Well… If you can fight the tyrants as good as you fought me, then your good enough for me. We will see.
Trig: Indeed we shall…
<They all enter the room and suite up in squishy rubber suites that are very oversized.>
Trig: These things don’t even fit.
Beta member#1: Just put on the suite then press the button above your wrist, it might hurt for a second. By the way I’m Mike. On my left is Phil, and on my right is Matt.
Other2: Yo…
<Trig and his team members nod and introduce themselves as well.>
<Trig is the first to press the button, he collapses on the floor gasping for air.>
Mike: You have to relax! The suite is just compressing to optimize your respiratory system!
<Trig is still gasping then finally gives a sigh of relief and stands back up.>
Trig: May not make it to the tyrants if the suite kills me.
Mike: On the contrary, it will save your life at least once in your life time. It’s designed to absorb impacts as well as improve your performance on a cellular level.
Jeff: Interesting… <Presses his button and tries to relax.>
<Billy presses his button and is unaffected by the compression.>
Jeff: This isn’t your first mission, is it Billy?
Billy: <While locking the rest of his belongings up.> No, it’s not…
<Everyone finishes suiting up and exits on the opposite side of the room from which they entered.>
<They enter a dark room with a window looking down into the hanger where the armors and weaponry lays. On the left and right are long benches. Billy decided to lean against the window in a casual position while everyone else grabbed a seat on the benches.>
Jeff: Where are we?
Matt: This is an elevator actually, someone will come on the intercom shortly.
Trig: Wonder where the girls are…
Mike: Probably still suiting up. Sometimes its harder for them to stabilize after suite pressures.
<The next second the girls enter and sit on the bench opposite of the guys.>
<Billy flips a light switch and suddenly the room is aglow.>
<The guys look at the girls and whistle while applauding.>
Jean: Very funny guys… <Rolls her eyes.>
Crice: Awww… Camon Jean we are good models!
<Crice starts showing off her blood red suite.>
<Shortly after the intercom turns on.>
Voice: Good afternoon Alpha, Beta. We are activating the lift so please stand clear of the doorways.
<The doorway closes and the lift begins moving diagonally down to the right if looking out the window.>
<While moving things started to appear outside the windows big robots and machinery operating on other machinery, trucks and people everywhere moving and guiding things.
Billy: The feeling you get riding this elevator never changes, huh Mike…
Mike: Yeah, never know, this could be your last ride. Some have called it the “Stairway to Hell” which is ironic because its actually an elevator.
Trig: Sounds like the song “Stairway to Heaven.”
Jeff: Yeah It does…
Mike: That’s a good point, all though this is definitely Hell.
Intercom: Please stand clear of the window it will open shortly.
<As the elevator approached the floor the wall with the window lifted and they were able to walk out.>
Lieutenant: Step this way and follow me please.
