JOURNAL: This 1s Wrong (Spike Spiegal)

  • Yeesh 2005-04-26 08:58:46 So time flies, eh? Haven't talked in here in a while and I guess there are some things to report. Came to a roadblock in my video making. Turns out I now have to delve into the process of transferring DVDs into .avi's. Hoped I could skip that with just the usual download but as it turns out all the files I want to use are ".ogm" and as my luck will have it, WMM doesn't support that.

    Oh phooey.

So anyway. April vacation for me ended last week....shame, shame, shame, shame. Tis a shame, sisn't it? Indeed it is. So anyway....did do much then....played a cr4p-load of Kingdom Hearts because it is such an awesome game. A little too easy, though. And that was about the extent of my weekend. Haha. So exciting...

Holy cr4p! I have AP exams next week. Well....more like one exam. But all th same there is that, then SATs the same week and a few weeks after that I have Finals followed by, yes, anoher SAT. What a wondeful life I lead.
  • 2005-04-11 19:26:17 Yet again errors in my post. Most particularly the "2005 World Champs" after the first few sentences....obviously it's 2004 but being the 2005 winners would be pretty nice all the same. Oh well. I can't stand looking at my mistakes and letting them go unnoticed so I feel I need to post again later and make sure that I clear my name. Especially the one I just had.

Well anyway....while I'm talking about baseball....WE WON! 8-1! We crushed 'em! First home game win in three years and the next game is the first start of the season for Mr. Curt Schilling himself, my absolute favorite player. Wicked awesome it shall be.

[Sorry for all the baseball talk. That's all that's going on. So....unless you want to hear about my little high school class retreats and college fairs then that's about all I have. I am getting the Trigun series now as we speak, though, so that might give me something else to talk about for once....]
  • Those Darn Sox... 2005-04-11 08:56:25 So my weekend was put to shame by those wonderful World Series Champs.... For those of you who are not baseball fans and are not in the AL East, the Sox are in last. 2-4. Two games below .500 for the first time in like.....three years. And you know what's worse? We're 2005 World Champs! Now don't get me wrong, I watched the World Series, I saw the famous comeback, I was front row in the Rolling Rally and like so many others had a near broken jaw from all the clenching of teeth for what seemed like a year of heart-pounding visual. But I can't help but wonder if I should even bother this year. I spend most of the time brooding over how we're gonna lose and how there's no chance. So why should I care? Well....actually...stupid thing is is that I don't know. I hate them, but I love them and my hardships of about six games is nothing compared to the hardships that people like my 43-year-old father or the other millions of fans over the years went through for 86 years. So the point in my complaining and whining of going down 1-2 games to the Jays and 1-2 to the Yanks (despite a wonderful hit fest off of "the game's greatest closer") is just pointless. Stupid. Inhumane and unethical. I hereby declare that I will not carry shame over all these bad innings, bad catches, bad plays, pitches, at-bats, etc. (such a terribly long list). Kind of hard, though. It's just a game....right. Wrong, Spike. It's Baseball; America's pastime and Boston's lovechild. It's the supplier of "with my dad" moments nationwide and has been the constant throughout the years of this country. Heh. So why worry now when the Sox are six games in and already find themselves in last place, despite the fact they will find that hulking, shining World Series Rings on their fingers and a fresh, newly printed "World Series Champs" banner on their beloved Green Monster today at 2 PM, all in front of the victims of the worst choke and greatest comeback in baseball history? Well...I shouldn't.

[On a great sidenote, I saw "Sin City" on Friday and I must say, very good movie. But, I can see why some reviewers were left scratching their puzzled heads. It is in a way a tribute to a comic rather then an actual movie but it's also one of those situations where if you don't read comics then you probably won't get it and never will. The visuals were stunning as presumed and the character depth was very enthusing, especially the choice to leave the deepest side story featuring Bruce Willis and Jessica Alba. Good movie. Go see it if you haven't already. But be aware. It's kind of gory (even though I didn't think so myself).]
  • 2005-04-08 01:37:54 Please excuse the horrible writing in my first entry. Great way to be admitted. I tend to not go over what I write so I sound like a tard instead. From now on that shall not happen. That is all.
  • Fancy That... 2005-04-08 01:34:48 I've come to the strange realization about two seconds ago that maybe if I write journal entries my popularity will go up....maybe. Depends....is this the personal "This is what I did today?" kind of journal? OR is it the "In my video-making day today...." kind of journal. I guess the general consensus [sp?] in my head is that it could sway either way, whcih is completly ok with me. Ok....I'll go first.

Hello. I'm Spike as you've obviously seen and have probably seen in a million other entries before. So....I started thinking about making AMVs a few years ago after being sucked in by a usual, run-of-the-mill DBZ+Linkin Park combo. But now I am smarter and wiser and have such video maker favorites as ErMac and OV and that one who made the RahXephon+Frou Frou vid that everyone is so amazed at (including myself). But now back to me (I swear I'm not as stuck up as I sound). I never actually had the money to make the videos because I had a shi77y computer and no money so I just made up ideas. Tried to make one on analog but then my dumb #l_l(l< friend lost the tap and that was the end of that.

So now....many years and AMV ideas later, I have a new computer with Windows Movie Maker, and wonderful download service, and all the ideas in the world. Granted my first video isn't as over-the-top amazing as I had hoped aside from a few good edits that I liked, I'm enjoying it. I have yet to edit and really fine-tune it to the point where I'm 100% satisfied rather then around 75%. It's kind of sporadic....but that's the kind of video I like. Ones that go with the music in both meaning and beat. (Drums in particular for me for I play them myself and am very key with such things.) But I hope those who've seen it have enjoyed it enough to not banish me from my AMV debut. More to come which I will explain now in very short terms.

    Mon. - "Cncr"
    .Grv - "The Day...Away"

Condensed for privacy purposes. Both are more on the sentimental side, the latter thought up and thought about for a while. The first I came up with while driving down Main St. in MElrose while listening to a different song and thinking about a different topic then what was originally concieved to make it work. Oh well. ONce my contest surge is done with the first vid I'll start the next two. The likes of school are committing to ruin this little video-making run I have going so that might set me back.

Ok....that seems about good enough to make me so popular I get at least one opinion for my vid...chances are it will seriously depress me (I have that problem....) for I don't handle criticism well. But that doesn't mean I won't appreciate it. No this is not a publicity stunt....haha. Just thought it would be cool to make an entry. Contradicting myself. Remember I'm really not this stuck-up.

Ok well thanks for reading. Anime rules. GO SOX! (Did I mention I'm from Boston...)
