  • Turnip spikes in BOTH towns today! 2004-07-16 20:35:02 Both my towns had turnip spikes today. 880 in Costello and 776 in Portland. So I obviously sold. I didn't travel, however, as I actually got pretty much the same amount of money for each town, having spent the same amount. But I'm just wondering what the chances are of both my town's turnip prices spiking on the same day... Now my bank account in Costello is a fat 21,800,635 bells, and Portland is 14,332,687 bells. Sunday morning I think I'll spend a million Bells on turnips. It's getting to the point now where I'm like "A million Bells? Pah! 'Tis only pocket change!" With snotty British accent.

Saharah came to Costello today. I got the final three Saharah carpets I needed from her, which were a basement floor, a boxing ring mat, and I forget the other one. Jayn has all of them now too so now I can ignore Saharah when she comes to either of my town. She rather annoys me.

I made a new clothing design for both my towns yesterday. It's a pot leaf against a black background. I'm hoping Jeremiah wears it.

  • Feng Shui 2004-07-15 19:50:52 I've been working on Audrey's Feng Shui. Right now her house has the same stuff as Emily's used to have, except I'm using the modern series. And it's pretty damn good. I'm getting 10,000 bells out of the glowy-spot more often than not (only about one day a week now is it 1000) and today I got 30,000. Eight bags out of the red rock every day (unless it's near a river, meaning there's no room for the eighth bag). And I did a chore for Mint yesterday where I went to five villagers to get back her--whatever it was she lost, and she paid me 3880 bells. Which is more than five times what I used to get. Today I did another chore for Mint, and got more than 3700 bells, and Curly (or was it Scoot?) gave me about 3400 bells for a chore today. Less impressive but still pretty good was that Weber gave me over 1600 bells for only going to two villagers to get back his item. So I think I have pretty damn good feng shui now. I'm trying to figure out how I can make it better and yet still have room for the sets upstairs and my clothes-storing office lockers in my basement.

Today was Costello's hometown day. I got station model 4 from Tortimer. It's in my house and hopefully it will up my HRA score somewhat.

  • Wisp! 2004-07-13 20:53:41 Before I begin this entry, I should say that I deleted Emily. I couldn't handle the pressures of writing forty-five letters a week (read: I'm just too damn lazy).

I worked on Audrey's Feng Shui for about two hours yesterday. However, this KILLED my HRA score. But I already have the house and manor models, so it doesn't really matter. And now I have good feng shui in every level of my house, including the basement. I know now why it never worked in the basement before. You can't do it ONLY in the basement, or even in the basement and one other floor. EVERY floor of your house must have good feng shui before it will work in the basement.

Wisp came to Costello last night. It's only the second time I've seen him since I bought this game. I found all five spirits--the last one, however, I couldn't find ANYWHERE at first, so I decided to save and quit and see if I could find them all again. And wouldn't you know it, the last spirit was in acre B3. I got a cabana armchair for my trouble, which completes the Cabana series in my catalog.

Something weird happened today. I deleted Emily yesterday; and today I was walking around Costello and asking animals if they needed any help. Three or four of them said "No, but you should hear what Emily did, she's so cool, etc." Whaaa? Emily's been deleted! Why are they still talking about her? It's weird.

  • Working on Feng Shui... 2004-07-11 19:57:37 I've been working on the feng shui in Emily's house, and I have to say that it's REALLY good right now. Here's her layout so far. I have the final house upgrade, although it hasn't been paid in full yet. This is ONLY for what furniture I have in the perimeter of the house, where Feng Shui counts. I'm using the Exotic series for Emily.

    FIRST FLOOR
South: a bunch of plants. Can't remember what exactly.
West: A "double row," one of exotic lamps, one row of sunflowers.
North: A double row of gerberas (skipping one space where the exotic wardrobe is)
East: My red feng shui isn't as good on my first floor. All I have is one row, consisting of one birdcage, one quince bonsai, and one red sofa.

    SECOND FLOOR
South: A row of Lily-pad Tables with Mugho Bonsais on each one.
West: A row of Blue Tables with Sunflowers on each one.
    North: A row of Gerberas.
East: A row of Grapefruit Tables with Quince Bonsais on each one.

    BASEMENT:
    Same as Second Floor.

For some weird reason, Emily's Feng Shui works in her basement, but neither of my other characters' Feng Shui works in their basements. It's a conundrum. Anyway, the first day I worked on Emily's feng shui for about two hours (ordering stuff from the catalog sure does take a while) and filled up my entire house with feng shui, I found the glowy spot and dug up 30,000 bells, and have subsequently dug up 10,000 bells every time I found it. Also, I did an errand for Velma today, and only went to two animals to retrieve her camera, and she gave me over 1600 bells. I would probably have gotten more if I'd had to go to more animals. I think I'll make Emily the "perfect" feng shui character. Audrey is my first character, and Jayn has the highest HRA score.

I bought turnips today. In Costello they were 110 BPT and I bought 4900; and in Portland they were 97 BPT and I bought 5500. I've decided to store my turnips not in my house acre, but by the well. There's more room there. Also, I bought the turnips as Audrey, but if Costello's price spikes I'll sell my turnips as Emily, since Audrey has a shitload of money already and Emily has almost none.
