  • Yowza. A week of no updates. 2004-08-29 17:34:39 Yesterday was the last day for summer campers, as I expected. And I FINALLY got the lantern from some chatty female bear. Or cat. Something.

Crazy Redd's coming to Costello tonight! Redd hasn't come for at least a month. Hopefully he'll have something good.

Nook has started selling the fall line of clothing. So far I've gotten:

    red scale shirt
big bro's shirt (thank yooooooou, Kiki!)
    patchwork top
    static shirt
    concierge shirt
    botanical shirt
straw shirt (I think Wisp gave me this one. Or was it Static?)
noodle shirt (found in police station)
    blue check print
    thunder shirt

Some of those I got with Jeremy and passworded them to Audrey. (Yes, I just used the word "password" as a verb. You got a problem with that?)

I bought a crapload of turnips today, spending ... well, whatever 549,999 x 2 is. (You do the math, dammit. I don't feel like it.) Anyway, I ended up buying 8600 turnips, at 126 BPT. Yay! Hopefully Nook'll spike this week. But I'm kind of thinking he won't because there was a spike price last week.

I didn't buy any turnips in Oregon yet. I'm going to wait till next week.

(Holy mother of a monkey, now I gotta type out a week's worth of turnip prices? Oy...)

  • La dee da. 2004-08-22 18:54:36 Next weekend is--I think--the last weekend for summer campers. The only piece of camping gear I haven't gotten yet is the lantern. I just can't get the damn thing! Amelia was camping in Oregon today, and I like the snobby females when they're camping because if you lose the "pick the ace" game, they don't take ALL your bells. (Besides, it's pretty easy to win anyway.) I'd saved all my camping gear in letters when I had Jayn, so I already had all the camping gear except the lantern. And I was playing for hours last night and today, and I got all the camping gear again, but no lantern. I think my game is cursed. Campers have left (it's now 3:50 PM here) so I HAVE to get it next week, or I'll have to wait another year.

  • Golden Axe in Oregon 2004-08-17 20:31:27 Yes, I cheated a little bit to get the G. Axe. I did NOT use a code; I did make my town perfect (it ultimately came down to one too many trees in acre C-4), but I used the time-travel method to get my axe quickly so I wouldn't have to wait fifteen days. (What? What are you looking at me like that for? It's MY game. I don't come into your house and cheat on *your* Animal Crossing game, do I?) As soon as the rest of my fruit trees grow, I'm going to do what I did in Costello: shake a tree, and if it produces nothing (bells, bees or furniture) then I'll chop it down and replace it with whatever fruit tree "belongs" in that acre (e.g. if it's in a C acre then an orange tree will replace it).

Right now Jeremy has the medium-level one-story house with the basement, but tomorrow (or rather, midnight tonight) he'll have the large one-story with basement. 318,000 bells later and he'll FINALLY be able to get the max upgrade.

Before I deleted Portland, I time-traveled solely for the purpose of finding out the rest of the week's turnip prices, so here they are:

    Turnip prices for 8.14.04
    Costello 43 BPT
    Portland 68 BPT (time traveled)
    No turnips to sell.

    Turnip prices for 8.15.04
    Asking Prices
    Costello 124 BPT, bought 4300
Oregon 95 BPT, didn't buy (no money)

    Turnip prices for 8.16.04
    Costello 130 BPT
    Oregon N/A (Nook remodeling)
    Didn't sell.

    Turnip prices for 8.17.04
    Costello 138 BPT
    Oregon 82 BPT
    Didn't sell.
  • Goodbye, Portland.... 2004-08-13 19:58:53 I deleted Portland last night. Yes, on purpose. I had my reasons. Although, five minutes after I did, I realized I shouldn't have, but it was Too Late. Well, it was my stupidity. I won't delete my new town, Oregon, I can tell you!

I forgot to bring my notebook down to the computer and don't feel like getting it, so you're not getting turnip prices (for Costello, anyway) today. But before I deleted it, Portland's turnip price spiked on Thursday at 912 BPT. I sold from Costello until I got sick of traveling, and then I just decided to sell the rest at home in Costello where the price was a dinky, measly, change-under-the-couch-cushions 50 BPT. So I didn't make as much money as I "should" have. And I COMPLETELY forgot before I deleted Portland that I was going to try the "double the money in your bank with a travel data card" trick. Pleh.

I did remember, however, to take all the untradable items out of Jayn's house before deleting it and store them in letters in the post office. So they're all safe.

Everything's back-asswards in Oregon. Nook's is in acre A-4 instead of A-2, the dump is in A-5 instead of A-3, and the post office is in A-1 instead of A-5. And the well is in D-5 instead of E-1. Museum is in E-5 and police is in E-4 instead of D-4 and D-3 respectively. That's effed up. I gotta get used to where my "new" rocks are, and everything else.

Something weird, though: one of the acres in Oregon is EXACTLY the same as one of the acres that was in Portland. It's like this: A cliff going N to S, two rocks north-south of each other, and a river below on the west side. And the two rocks are spaced exactly the same distance apart and are the same shapes and sizes as that one acre that was in Portland. Weird. Eerie. And what's really weird is that the acre on the map, when I press X, isn't like that. The map says there's a cliff going W to E. There isn't one in that acre, it goes N to S.

    The residents in Oregon:

    Gonzo (Moved from Costello)
    Patty
    Stella ("STELLAAAAAAA!!! STELLAAAAAAA!!!!")
Cube (Cubies! He'll be like my Puckies. Although no animal can ever replace Puck.)
Bubbles (I thought she'd be an ape, but she's a hippo. Go figure.)
    Pierce
Olivia (Her eyes creep me out.)
Static lived in Oregon but moved to Costello when my Oregon character, Jeremy, travelled to get some fruit.
