Stupid windstorm...

No, not a windstorm in-game. I think that's just a rumor, as I haven't seen it yet, but people have talked about it. A real-life windstorm that knocked out the power last Sunday the 12th, so I had to do turnip-trading a little differently. First off, I had to time travel backward. Oh, who am I kidding? I time-travel backward EVERY time I do turnip-trading. Anyway, I only traded in Costello, and instead of finding Joan, dropping my 549,999 bells, buying turnips and dropping every 15 bunches on the ground until I ran out of bells, I had to buy 15 bunches, run back to my house, save and continue, go find Joan again, and repeat that process until I had run out of money, for fear that the power would go off again. But I managed to get all my trading done and the power didn't go off anyway. I'm sure, however, that if I had done it the normal way, that the power would have gone off the minute I made my last transaction.
There are lights on most of the trees in the village. If a tree has lights on it that means there's nothing in it--no bees, bells, or furniture. All but about five or six trees in Costello have lights on them, so I'm getting about three bees, two or three bell bags and it's random as to whether or not I get furniture when I shake the light-less trees.
I haven't talked to any of my villagers in Oregon lately. I talked to Patty today and she said I hadn't talked to her in 5 weeks. Wow. I didn't even realize it had been that long. Marcy said 3 weeks, and everyone else I talked to just said things like "You've been away for a long time..."

Rose Pattern is HOT!

This just in! The hottest design in Costello is the Rose Pattern. This black-based outfit with a single large rose in the middle is sweeping the village! Villagers wearing the rose pattern currently include Curly, Dotty, Liz, Jeremiah, Lucy, Aurora and Rizzo. Some comments from villagers*:

Thanksgiving, Sale Day, and the Golden Rod! Also completed museum! (Hey, it's like an anime title!)

After the tiring Halloween debacle it was a relief to get all of the Harvest series on Thanksgiving without much of a fuss. Get silverware from table, talk to non-partying villager to see where the hell Franklin was (Franklin. Named after Benjamin, who wanted the turkey to be the national bird. [See, I paid a _little_ attention during history class.] If it were, would we still eat it for Thanksgiving?), found the paranoid turkey, and got every Harvest series piece. No repeats. But Frankie isn't meant to give repeats anyway, until the whole series is gotten. Anyway, I remodeled Audrey's house with the new Harvest series, and it looks really cool.
The next day was Sale Day. After 6 PM Redd comes; and if you have enough money you can buy him out and he'll appear again with more stuff. I got about 10 or so new furniture items for Audrey, and more than 20 new items for Jeremy before I ran out of money (on my person; I still have puh-lenty in each bank) or got bored, whichever came first.
And finally, last night I COMPLETED THE MUSEUM in Costello!! And got the museum model; three of them actually, one for each character living in Costello. Yaaaay! The last fish I had to catch was the stringfish, which looks rather like a larger, yellower version of the large char. The first stringfish I saw, I accidentally scared it away, as I was running and didn't see it in time. But I caught the next one I saw, and got the Golden Rod too! Woot! But it doesn't really seem to do much of anything. Now I have all the golden tools though, and I got them all legitimately (meaning no UCs).

Fishing Tourney

Holy crap, I forgot about the fishing tourney. No, I didn't forget about it in-game; I just forgot to write about it. Anyway, Audrey won the first week, Jeremy lost; I think both Audrey and Jeremy won in Week 2; they both won last week with 26-inchers; and I did some fishing this afternoon to store my large bass. There's no room in either of my basements so I'm storing them all in my Gyroids.
I have a new storage character in Costello--Daria. (I named her after a local radio DJ that I love) Daria's the sleepy-eyed, blue-haired girl. She's actually storing fossils in her house. I hope I'll have room for them all.
I'm skipping turnip trading this week, because of the Harvest Festival and all that.

Holy mother of a monkey on a stick! What's today, the 15th? 14th? I forget. Wow. Nearly two weeks without updates. Yowza. Well, nothing's really been happening lately, which is probably why I haven't updated. Oh, sure, I get the visitors--Wendell came to Costello just yesterday, and I got a western vista--but lately all I've been doing is log in--check mail--check bulletin board--check turnip prices--find glowy spot and red rock--look for Gulliver. Kind of boring to be writing about that kind of stuff every day. But I do have (sigh) two freakin' weeks worth of turnip prices to do... so I'd better get started.
BTW, it's really tedious and repetitive to write "Turnip prices for [date]" for _every_ date, so I'm only going to do it once, at the top, from now on. And I'm going to shorten Costello to C and Oregon to O.
