Turnip trading, and Jeremiah's back in Costello!
2004-05-16 16:38:04
This morning I woke up at around 10 am and got a lot of money out of the bank, went and found Joan, and bought as many turnips as I could afford/would fit in my basement. Actually, there were about 750 that wouldn't fit, so I had to leave them outside. I ended up buying 4100 turnips at 112 BPT. If Costello spikes, I stand to gain 3,673,600 bells. If Portland spikes (120 BPT) and I travel there, and if my turnips don't rot on the way, which I've heard they're infamous for doing, I'll gain 3,936,000 bells.
In Portland, I didn't have much time to buy turnips, so I only bought 2100. Again, if Portland spikes, I'll get 2,016,000 bells, and if Costello spikes, I'll get 1,881,600 bells. Woot!
I worked on my Feng Shui the other day. I must be doing something right, because I dug 30,000 bells out of the glowy-spot in Costello today, (NO Katrina) and got eight bags out of the red rock. I wonder, though, what it means when you dig 1000 bells out of the glowy-spot one day and 30,000 the next? If I didn't move anything, I don't see how my feng shui could be excellent one day and bad the next. It's a conundrum.
When I was playing as Jayn in Portland this morning, I talked to Jeremiah and he said he'd move if I traveled. Woot! So when Woolio the purple sheep (did he listen to one too many Prince albums?) asked me to take something to Pecan in Costello, I readily agreed. However, I sacrificed Peaches the pink horse, who moved out completely. What is up with the Kool-Aid colored farm animals? Woolio the purple sheep, Petunia the purple cow, Sue E. the purple pig, Peaches the pink horse. Oh, yeah, I got Sue E. in Portland. Hooray. (I hope you know that's sarcasm.) A purple pig with blue eye shadow. Very disturbing.

Letter writing!
2004-05-14 17:39:30
Yesterday, since Puck said he'd move if I traveled, I sent him a letter, as Audrey is going to travel to Portland on Saturday for the second K.K. Slider song. This is what I wrote (I think; since you can't save letters you've sent, this is mostly from memory):
"You might move the next time I travel to another town. So I wanted to give this [a five-ball shirt] to you now. I hope it fits. Maybe you should go on a little diet. No! You're so fat and cute. I love you."
Surprisingly, he understood it. I think I even got a present back from him, but I also wrote to Apollo and Goose (they both understood their letters too), so it might have been one of them that sent me the present.

Damn, I really wish these entries were editable. Anyway, my current town tune for Costello is Talking Heads "And She Was":
dddeeeezf-fedcdd (starts with lowest "d")
I also figured out how to do Depeche Mode's "People are People":

And "Jeremiah was a bullfrog":

Turnip prices
2004-05-13 20:22:04
I forgot to mention that today in Portland, Nook was buying turnips at something like 824 BPT. And I didn't have any turnips. I considered using the UC to get 100 turnips, but decided against it. If I didn't buy any turnips on Sunday morning, it's my loss.
Costello's turnip price today was 151 BPT. Costello's already spiked (944 BPT), but that's still a decent markup from 118 BPT, which is what I bought them for.
I think I'll mention turnip prices for each day at the end of each entry.
Current music in my house:
First floor: K.K. Gumbo (damn, I love that one!)
Second floor: Um, I think it's Go K.K. Rider! (the ! is part of the song title)
Basement: The K. Funk

Remodeling a house in half an hour! Woot!
2004-05-13 18:56:36
Last night I decided to COMPLETELY remodel my house. So now, instead of the Cabana series, I'm using the Modern series on the first floor, and I decided instead of the Space theme on the second floor, I'd just put a bunch of sets up there. This apparently makes the HRA really happy, as I did this for Jayn in Portland's house and I have over 62,000 HRA points. All I need is a few more sets and I'll breat 70,000 so I can get the house model. I've pretty much given up all hope of ever breaking 100,000. It ain't gonna happen.
Jeremiah moved back to Portland yesterday when I traveled there to give something to someone who'd forgotten it. Actually, I had talked to him before and he said he was going to move. And in Portland, Spork the pig said he said he would move if I traveled to Costello. I thought I would rather sacrifice Spork than Jeremiah, so I went ahead and traveled to Portland from Costello, thinking that Spork would move out completely. But Axel the elephant moved. So now Jeremiah's in Portland and Spork's in Costello, and apparently the next one to move out of Costello will be Puck. Which means that I'm not going to be doing any traveling anytime soon.
I got a new character in Portland. Woolio the sheep. Woolio the PURPLE sheep. Woolio, the purple, sunglasses-wearing sheep. I like him. Apparently, he's an "athletic" male. But I'd like to know how he got to be purple. Did he fall into a vat of purple paint? Did he drink too much grape Kool-Aid? Were his parents blue and red, respectively? A purple sheep. I love it.
