Spike! Woo hoo ... sort of.

I got a turnip price spike in Costello today. Hooray. Why am I not too excited, you may be wondering? Well, it was only 568 BPT. If I had spiked in Portland it would have been 992 BPT, and I'd just travel to Portland to sell my turnips. But I'm not sure if Portland is going to spike this week, so I just sold turnips in Costello. I made 3,976,000 bells and broke 10 mil in the bank, garnering me the piggy bank. It's so cute! It's in the corner of my house right now.
Nothing else really--oh wait, Gracie came to Portland today. I managed to get another Gracie shirt. It's an orange pinstripe. It's VERY VERY UGLY. It looks--and I'm not even exaggerating here--like a 1970's sofa. It's brown, green and orange striped. Blech. Since I hate it so much, I have half a mind to just sell it to Nook.
Water lilies are out! I saw them when I was playing last night. The first one I saw kind of threw me for a loop, as I thought they didn't appear until June.
I wish it would stop raining, though. It's been raining for three days straight in Costello. Good for coelacanth, but bad when I want different overworld music, dammit!

The first Katrina fortune I got was the "get rich quick" fortune. I'd already hit the red rock, but I hadn't found the glowy-spot, so I looked for it (it was in F-1) and dug up 30,000 bells. Woot! Shook trees, got about 20,000 bells from trees. It was late, so I didn't do any work.
However, after midnight, I got the "tripping curse"! Rrrgh! I hate that. I didn't want to reset, because I didn't want to have to deal with Resetti. So now, until midnight tonight, I can't run, or every five seconds--Flomp! But I have to admit there are a few good points to the "tripping curse." If you don't--or rather, can't--run, "diggy-spots" are less likely to go unnoticed, and so are weeds. Also, I think more trees have bees. This is probably bad for those who can't catch bees, but if you're good (I won't say I'm GOOD, but I'm decent) at catching bees, you can get a LOT of money, as each bee you catch is 4500 bells.
I think Gracie's coming to ... is it Portland? Yeah, I think it's Portland. May 26th.

I was playing as Jayn in Portland this afternoon, and Bangle asked me to take something to Pate, who'd moved to Costello. I said fine. I didn't know who was going to move, even though I talked to everyone before I traveled, but nobody said "I think I want to move." Anyway, Puck moved back to Costello. I just hope I can keep him there for more than a week. And I got a new character, Kody the blue bear cub, in Portland. Kody is an "athletic" male, which is what I predicted he'd be before I met him.
Several of my villagers in both towns sent letters back to me. So far, only two of them, Ricky and Curly, said they couldn't understand my letters. I can't remember what I wrote to them, though, because all my letters are slightly different (I hate reading the same letters over and over again when the animals show them to my other character). I do know that I didn't misspell anything (I never do), and that I used proper grammar (at least I think I did), so I may have used a word or two that wasn't in their vocabulary. And most of the animals wore the shirts I sent them, too.
Katrina's coming to Costello tonight, and Gracie's coming to Portland in a few days. The animals were talking about Gracie today, but I haven't checked with Copper yet to see when she'll come. I've gotten pretty good at getting Gracie shirts, but that doesn't make me hate Gracie any less. The last one I got was a splendid shirt. It's not splendid. It's UGLY. Orange and purple DO NOT GO TOGETHER!!!

So today I bought turnips in both Portland and Costello. In Portland, they were 124 BPT, and in Costello they were only 71, which means that I hope Nook spikes in Portland this week. I spent 500,000 bells on turnips in each town, buying 4000 in Portland and 7000 in Costello. I haven't done the math yet, so I don't know how much I'll get if the prices do spike.
Meh, not much else today. I'm writing letters to all my villagers, though. I haven't written to them in about two weeks. (What can I say? I'm lazy.)

Nothing really extraordinary happened today. Nobody special came, and so far all I've done today is hit the red rock, dig up the glowy spot, and do tasks for about four animals. Fortunately, Sydney didn't steal anything this time. I think I'll request Surfin' K.K. when K.K. Slider comes tonight.
