  • Fishing tourney 2004-06-14 02:07:32 I woke up early to do the fishing tourney and also to find and buy turnips from Joan. I had to go somewhere in the afternoon and didn't know when I'd be back home, so I thought it best to try to win the tourney early, then save, quit, and come back after 6 pm, which is actually when I got home. After 6, I mean. Both Audrey and Jayn won prizes this time--Jayn won a wide-screen TV (had it) and Audrey won a black bishop (didn't have it).

Last night I got a few more camping items, including the kayak and the bonfire. The bonfire is crackling away in my basement (with the lights off). The kayak was on the west side of Audrey's basement, but for some reason feng shui doesn't seem to want to work in either of my houses' basements, so I sent the kayak to the museum so I can get it back with a letter saying what it is, so I don't have to search for it when I store it in the post office. In fact I think when I get it back I'll just take some of the sunflowers and G-logos off the west side of my first floor and just drop it there.

After two--no, three, I think--weeks of no turnip trading, I decided to dabble in the Stalk Market this week. Prices for Costello and Portland were very similar--only a 1-bell difference. Since it was about 11 am when I started, I didn't have much time, so I only bought about 200,000 bells worth of turnips this time. Anyway, turnips were 110 bells in Costello and 111 bells in Portland. I bought 1800 in each town.

I'm 99% positive they're the same as last time. I didn't add or change anything since yesterday.
  • Summer campers and Saharah 2004-06-12 19:47:33 Sahara came to Costello today. Audrey got eight carpets from her, spending about 300,000 bells, give or take.

Today, Bill is camping in Costello. I got a mountain bike and a kayak from him. The kayak is on the west side of my basement. The mountain bike is being mailed to the museum, so I can save it in the letter that comes back to me in the post office. Actually, Bill gave me two mountain bikes. ^^; I also have some zebra camping in Portland, but I haven't played any games with him/her yet so I don't know his/her name.

Jane (not to be confused with Jayn) moved into Costello today. Why, God, why? I went off to meet her and good god, is she ugly. A purple ape with lipstick. Lipstick! Isn't testing cosmetics on animals banned or something? I'm not sending her any letters at all. Hopefully she'll move out soon.

Last night I was playing Bonky Zone with Bangle. She didn't seem to like it too much. The rules were, I would rhythmically hit the ground with my bug net, and if Bangle got into the "Bonky Zone," then it wasn't MY fault if she got hit. I must have hit her about thirty or forty times. I never liked Bangle anyway. But the funny thing was, I talked to her a few times while she was angry, and after I put my net away (it would never happen while my net was out) she would say "Are you sorry for what you've done? Well, then I guess I'll forgive you. But don't ever do it again!" Then she would go back to normal (i.e. not angry) but when I talked to her again, she would tell me to go away. In fact I discovered a Tom Petty reference while she was snubbing me: once she said "Don't come around here no more!"

  • More animals movin'... 2004-06-10 22:51:41 Spike moved out today when I traveled to Portland to deliver something to ... was it Pecan? Yeah, I think it was Pecan. And Alli moved out of Portland, thank god. I don't think anyone new has moved into Costello yet.

Grrr. Turnip prices spiked in Costello today, and I had no turnips to sell.... Well, at least I know now what C.'s buying price was--it was 96 bpt.

I cleaned out my basements in both my houses today. I ordered a bunch of office lockers from Nook (ten for each house), and stuffed all my clothes into them. Stationery and monthly raffle tickets still stay on the floor, as I might forget about them if they're in the lockers.

I made a new design the other day, a "cold flame" shirt. This is similar to the regular flame shirt that you can buy at Nook's, except the fire is blue. Very cool.

  • Lots o' stuff... 2004-06-09 21:31:58 First off, I didn't feel like updating on Monday, and yesterday I didn't get a chance to get online. So that's why no updates until today.

Saharah came to Portland on Monday, and Jayn managed to get about six or seven carpets from her. They're all being stored at the post office. She's coming to Costello on the 12th, so I can get some carpets for Audrey.

Katrina's coming to Portland either tonight or tomorrow night (I did check with Copper, but I've forgotten).

Bunnie and Pecan recently moved out of Costello when I traveled to Portland to deliver stuff for animals. I don't care for either of them. I'm trying to get Costello to be all animals I love and Portland to be all animals that I don't really care for. Which means that Puck, Jeremiah, Apollo, and all the "sweet" females that live in Costello had better not move... Anyway, Portia the dalmation moved into Costello after Pecan moved. Portia's one of the bitchy females. Damn.

  • Fishing tourney! 2004-06-06 23:26:05 Today was the first Fishing Tourney day of June. It's every Sunday. Jayn caught the biggest fish at 23 inches, but Audrey couldn't beat Mint's record of 26 inches. I'll have to try harder next time. Jayn won an ivory piano.

I got the "rare items" fortune from Katrina, after getting the "animals will avoid you" fortune about twenty times. I managed to shake a regal cupboard and Donkey Kong out of the trees, both of which I already had. Actually, Jayn didn't have Donkey Kong, so Audrey sent it to her via password (I didn't feel like traveling then).

I overslept and completely forgot to check turnip prices for today. Well, if Nook spikes this week, I can divide by eight to see what the buying price was. Needless to say, I didn't buy any turnips today.

When I was playing as Jayn in Portland, Curly asked me would I deliver Gaston's Game Boy to him, since Gaston moved? I said fine. I went around and talked to a bunch of animals before I found out that Kitt wanted to move somewhere. I like Kitt, so I said fine, you can move to Costello. Now Kitt's living in Costello and Tank the athletic rhino moved out of Costello. Kitt was immediately replaced by Eunice the sheep. I like her a lot, so I'm hoping to keep her around for a while. Hambo the pig in Costello gave me something to deliver to Deena in Portland, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow to do it, since I want Eunice to get the letter I sent her so there's less of a chance that she'll move out when whoever moves in from Costello to Portland. (I asked every animal, nobody said anything about moving!)
