Well then.
2007-10-29 06:57:57
I...I'm not sure exactly what happened these past 8 hours, but whatever it was, I must say I'm grateful. I mostly finished my .hack//G.U. video. In 8 hours. Mostly finished. I don't understand what's going on! The past few years my videos have been taking me upwards of 40+ hours at least to make something I'm satisfied with, and then all of sudden this thing comes out of nowhere in less than 10. And I'm Very Happy with it. Excuse me while I stare blankly at the all-but-for-one-20-frame-spot-completed timeline and contemplate how this wonderful explosion of inspiration came about and how I might possibly call upon it at will at a later time.
Though I think I may just fall asleep, instead. Technically I have class in a hour, but I don't know if I'll be able to crawl out of bed and hike across town, just for school. All of my energy's gone; I think that's the end of the road for me today.
Either way, I'm gonna come back to this when I'm a bit more conscious and straighten it up, and then I'll toss it out to be beta'd, if anyone's interested? There's definitely spoilers for all three .hack//G.U. volumes, but if it doesn't bother you, then drop me a line. Good night.

I'm not sure if I should say this...
2007-10-29 01:14:22
...for it might jinx me, but, but...! I must say it nonetheless!
I've passed the halfway-point (02:04) in my .hack//G.U. video! I'm on to the home stretch! It's all downhill from here! Nothing can stop me now!
As you can see, I am adamantly refusing to acknowledge the fact that the last third of the song that I'm using is, in fact, the most difficult part of the song to edit, and I will continue to refuse to acknowledge it until a week from now when I will be bogged down in a mess of technicalities and frame-by-frame edits. But for now? I am riding on the wings of euphoria!
...and lack of sleep. But who wants to go to sleep and wake up to go to school in six hours, when one could instead be following inspiration and steadily ignoring homework? Honestly.

Is that actual WORK getting done?
2007-10-22 11:28:29
I...I'm actually editing. And I've gotten almost 30 seconds done...it's been so long since I've felt this accomplished. It's (of course) a .hack/G.U. video, using footage from all three games, and it gears more towards the dramatic, so it'll be pretty simple editing-wise (that '-wise' phrase always looks so weird in print...). It's going really quick, too, so I think that means it was meant to be made now. At least, that's what I'm gonna tell my professors when they wonder why I haven't been to class in a while...
On another note: the ending credits to Portal (from the Orange Box)? Best ending to a video game that I've EVER seen.

The End of an Era
2007-10-20 10:18:06
...or so it would seem. You see, I have finally completed the last installment of .hack//G.U., a series that has held my attention for years. I...I'm not sure what to do with myself now.
Well, besides make another G.U. video, of course.
And so, my action video to 'Mark David Chapman' will have to be delayed while I find a way to properly show my love for the series (at meleechampion: I'll still keep your suggestion in mind when I do get back to it).
Anyway, I have several songs that I'm running through at the moment, trying to decide which of the bunch is just right, and since I just finished getting all the footage, I can start very soon (schoolwork? what schoolwork! I am a slave to inspiration, my will is not my own!).
So wish me luck, and again, I can't recommend the series enough. It's beautiful, really, story-wise and visual-wise (oh dear sweet lord the cinematics...), so please check it out!

I really need to finish that game...
2007-10-16 02:54:18
Why do I keep finding interesting-looking .hack//G.U. videos to download, only to discover that they use footage from the last game! (Granted, I'm right at the very end of the last game, but still. I don't want those last few minutes spoiled yet!) So anyway, I now have several G.U. videos hanging out in the queue, waiting for me to comment on them when I can finally (safely) watch them. Hopefully this will be soon!
Also, I'm about to start a new video again, to the song 'Mark David Chapman' by Mindless Self Indulgence, and while I really like the first 2 minutes or so for the action I have planned, I -don't- like the last 34 seconds, and it's putting me off a bit. Does anyone have some wonderful advice on how to smoothly get rid of a chunk of the song, and either just make it sound good on its own or possibly add something else to help? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
.hack//G.U. is quite amazing. More people should check it out. And make wonderful videos to it. That is my belief.
