Success!
2007-03-09 18:13:22
And I've got all the GU footage on a DV tape now, thanks to all the tech-savvy students who work at my dad's studio. Time to start the serious work now. I'm off!

.hack//G.U.

...is amazing.
I'm a sucker for drama, it's true, and oh man did this volume deliver. My friend and I played it together whenever we had a free moment between class and work, and we beat it in four days. Sleep didn't much fit into the equation, I'll admit. ^____^ Plus the gameplay was a HUGE step up from the first series. But now I want to play the next volume, and it's not coming out for a while! I'm so impatient....But! To curb my need for more G.U., there is a video right now in the planning stage. I've unlocked all the movies from the game, and either today or tomorrow I'll pack up the playstation and trek to my dad's studio to use his camera to record them onto DV tapes to then use on my computer to *gasp* make a video! With any luck, this will also inspire me to get on with that trailer I'm supposed to be making forthe Key Arts Award competition...the deadlines mid-april. I REALLY need to work on that...
Anyway! That is all for me. I'm off.

My break has come at last!
2007-01-31 21:17:25
I went with my dad and talked to this guy who's the head of the department of theatre and film at my university (wow, 'my university', it makes it sound like I've been there more than a semester....) and he wanted to see some of my stuff so I gave him a disc of it, and that was two months ago and I still hadn't heard anything from him and was beginning to become Very Disheartened when finally! My dad received an email from the guy to send to me saying that he really liked what I had done and that I had talent (this was about the point where I started hyperventilating) and that there was an editing competition for a feature film trailer that he thought I should get into.
And then, for which I shall always blame the fact that I gave blood earlier today, which at my weight is always a little if-y, I promptly passed out.
Well, okay, maybe I'm being a bit melodramatic, but I'm so excited! I'm going to talk to him tomorrow to get more info on the deal, and I can't wait!

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle [the anime]

Yay or nay?
It looks -really- pretty, and I've read a volume or two of the manga, so should I go ahead and get the anime, too? What do you guys think?

And so it begins...

The curse of procrastination. I may never escape its devious clutches.
We made it to Ohaycon for a day, only Saturday, and neither of my videos made it past finalist. Better luck next year. Fun stuff in the vendor room, though. My friend stocked up on yaoi manga. I’m proud of her.
So, has anyone else heard of Pan's Labyrinth? It just started playing in select cities, and It Looks Gorgeous. I can't wait to see it!
And college has started back up, so we'll see how much time I have. I going to try to actually Stay On Task with my videos this year! I can dream...
