  • Herm... 2002-07-30 03:14:03 I've fiddled around with encodes of my videos for the past two days now... and I've found that none of them look nearly as good as my first original DivX encodes. None of them were as sharp. For my AMG vid, I was thinking on making a widscreen version. But whenever I resized it in VirtualDub, there was a noticeable loss in quality. I might like the non-widescreen version better anyway... you see more of the picture that way rather than just black bars. Having more colours is prettier.

    Argh... where's my inspiration to finish my remake? It's been like 90% done for the past four days and I just don't feel like finishing it... even though I think it looks pretty good it's just... I don't know... I want to start my Oh My Goddess project... even though I haven't really decided on the song.

    Oh yeah... and thanks to everyone who's left opinions on my last two vids... I've gotten some pretty good feedback. Thank you for the comments^_^ 
  • Widescreen edition... yes... 2002-07-28 00:49:46 Digital_Dojo: If you walk that path, you will be deprived for the rest of your life. You have been warned. Trigun is rated third highest on the Top 30 Anime List for a reason. If you're not sure you want to buy it, just download some episodes and you'll see what I mean... though keep in mind the first four episodes aren't nearly as good as the rest of the series. But seriously, you're missing out on some good stuff, DD...

    Anywho... the computer is encoding the widescreen edition of One Day and is 70% done... then I want to re-encode a high-resolution indeo version for myself to keep on Fifi. I have a hi-res version of my Trigun vid, and it's so much fun when you can admire your DVD-quality work in high resolution... but wow I really need to get rid of the source footage I've exported directly from Premiere (they're all full resolution huffyuv files). They're taking up WAY too much space. That plus all the vob files is taking up over 90 GB!!! (Not to mention I have about 5 GB of music videos hanging around). Holy cow Fifi, I feel like I'm abusing you!

    On another note, Sierra is coming home tomorrow... she'll be very happy to find that I've found ourselves some hosting:D

    The encode is at 98%... 99%... done!

    Yeah... I'm currently re-encoding my Ah! My Goddess and Trigun videos. I've just realized how very few people actually own DivX 5 (which I used to encode them the first time). I've re-encoded my Trigun video with that other DivX thing... and although the DivX 5 version was a little sharper picture-quality wise, the other DivX version is only 36.3 MB (a whole 11.4 MB smaller) and most people have that codec so...

    When I re-encode my Ah! My Goddess video, I'm going to try to make it so it's widescreen...

    Back to encoding...
