Not doing much...
2002-08-06 01:05:29
Lately all I've been doing is watching anime. I'm currently watching three great series: Cowboy Bebop, Vision of Escaflowne, and Evangelion. Eva's getting up there in my favorites list; I hadn't really liked the first half of the series very much at all but now I've just finished episode 18 and I have to say it's really starting to get awesome. Escaflowne's starting to get much darker than in the previous episodes. I finished ep 14 and have started into the last half of the series now. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of ending it's going to have; and I want to see what they've done with the movie. I've only watched six episodes of Bebop, but I'm liking it so far. I didn't really connect to the first four episodes, but I've been very into the last two episodes I watched. I've heard the last half of Bebop and the movie are supposed to be really good... I want to see that too.
All this anime watching has cut down on my editing time. I'm still at the same place I was a couple days ago. I need to get inspired again. I think all this dark anime is messing with the pretty, sweet images of Oh My Goddess in my head. But hopefully I will find inspiration again soon... I'm really liking what I made of the video so far.
I am contemplating whether I should release my Dancing With Myself Remastered. I've been done it for a while now. I have a 35 MB file that I would use to distribute on the internet; but I'm starting to run out of space to host my videos. I don't like it as much as my previous two so I don't want to take one of them down to put this one up. The video is ten times better than the original, but it's still a Final Fantasy video and I'm getting sick of FF videos now, as I'm sure many people are. It's nowhere near a typical FF vid, but it still doesn't really have much of a concept and that's what I really don't like about the video. It has some interesting effects and some pretty good editing but... I don't know, I'm reluctant to put it up. It doesn't help that I really don't have the space to do so.
Sierra and I are planning on making a video together. We have a few things planned but we have yet to start working on it...
I want to buy too many DVDs... make it stop...

Argharghargharghargh...

I have just spent the last 45 minutes trying to fix this one three-second long section in my video. I spent about 15-30 minutes working on it last night and now I was trying to fix it. What was about it that made it so difficult? It was lip synced. That was the problem. I tryed to get Keichii to lip sync this one sentence in the entire song (there's no way I'm going to try to do more than that) and it just looked... argh! And now, after 45 minutes, it still looks like junk!
I was having so much fun, thouroughly enjoying what the video looked like, then I got to that part! Lip sync is the most frustrating thing I have ever come across in editing. Now I feel like banging my head against the wall. I'm seriously thinking of just not doing lip sync there... now I'll need to find a new scene to use... argh...
I've worked for 15 hours and 15 minutes on the video. Long way to go still...

Digital_Dojo: Funny, those are almost the exact feelings I have about the video I'm working on right now^_^ I've worked for about ten hours on it now, and I'm at the 2:47 mark already. Considering how many much I've been playing around with color-and-black-and-white combinations, it should have taken me longer than that. The song is two whole minutes longer than my average video, so I thought it would take me a lot longer than my other projects. Probably what's going to happen is I'm going to spend an eternity on the last part of the video, which is what I usually do. But I really feel this video is the most powerful one I've ever made. I mean, I almost made myself cry at one part. I have never, ever done that before. But I am seriously having so much fun making this video; even though it's sad and kind of serious. I think the projects that I really feel like the music is connecting to the anime I'm using are the most fun to make. And this song really, really suits Oh My Goddess. The concept is definitely not terribly original, but I think I brought out an emotion from Oh My Goddess that not many people have been able to show in their videos.
There isn't too much I want to change in the stuff I've edited so far. Except for that voice over problem and a few transparancies at the start need fixed, and some of those fades are fixer-upers, but mostly I'm very happy with what I've done so far. I'm going to do my best to make this video's ending do justice to the rest of the video.
I need to edit some more...

Omnistrata: I've gotten a new download site for my videos if you don't know that already. You should be able to get my Ah! My Goddess video quickly through my new host. I just tried the link and it was working perfectly fine... so you can try getting it again now if you want...

I haven't worked at all on my Dancing With Myself Remake. I really should. If I want to start my new project anytime soon, I should get it out of the way. Sigh... I'm getting very sick of Final Fantasy videos.
IDEAS ARE FLOATING THROUGHOUT MY HEAD. Ideas ideas ideas ideas... I know which scenes I'm going to use for at least half of the song, but I still need to know exactly what I'm going to do for the beginning. This video is definitely going to be my longest video because I do not want to cut anything out of the song; it ALL suits the video. I'm worried that I might run out of footage because the song is about six minutes long and there are only five Oh My Goddess episodes. But I know I can do it if I put my mind to it!^_^
This video is probably going to take me a long long time... but I'm really intent on making it pay off in the end^_^

OMG!!!!!!!

I just found the most perfect song for Oh My Goddess! It's... it's just so PERFECT! I had so many songs that I was thinking of using, and I was almost ready to use one. I was going to use Only an Ocean Away by Sarah Brightman, but then I went to the Anime Conventions thread and saw one of the winning videos that went to Otakon was to that song... I read Vlad's descrption of his video and he said he spent 350+ hours on that video (holy cow man, you have PATIENCE!). Now I realized it is unlikely my video to that song would be nearly as good as Vlad's, especially if he spent that long on the video. I also realized using Sarah Brightman wasn't terribly original, and I was afraid of plagarizing someone unknowingly. So, I went searching for another song.
My older sister (who likes to buy lots of CDs) was very happy to suggest a few songs for a video of mine. One song just suited OMG so well... so I stole the CD. Now I have to start doing some major planning, hehehe...
Erm... yeah, last night I finally got around to updating the little corner of Sierra's website that is dedicated to my studio. It now has my newer videos listed finally. I really should make my own website...
