Video coming out today!!
2002-07-01 20:46:33
I'm currently in the process of rendering my 3 GB huffyuv file of my latest project to a reasonably sized DivX file in Virtual Dub. I already made a version I think I'm going to use to distibute and am making a higher resolution one to keep on my own hardrive.
Now all I have to do is put the video on the FTP, make a new video entry, and post a video announcment and voila.... my video is finally released!!!
I'm pretty sure I'll get this all done today....

Happy!!!
2002-06-29 21:04:33
My project is about three quarters done.... and it looks exactly like if not better than what I wanted it to:) Except for a few blups.... I have to fix some blups....
I'm debating whether I should even use scenes from the OVA's.... it might look better if I didn't and then I wouldn't have to deal with fullscreen/widescreen conflicts and I wouldn't have to wait for the DVD's to get here. But I'm running out of scenes to use. *ponders*
Anyhow... I'll get my video out within the next month for sure, quicker if I don't use the OVA's (I'd get it done within about five days or so if I don't).
I'm working hard on it and having fun:)

The Site Has Returned!
2002-06-28 22:20:24
I just realized the site was back! Probably because I was editing for the whole day....
I'm about half way through my Ah! My Goddess video. I still need to fix many, many things but I'm getting there. Of course, I won't be able to complete it until the rest of my footage (the Ah! My Goddess episodes) arrives. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out so far, though.
My sister (Sierra Lorna) is making a video too. It's pretty awesome, and she's worked hard on it. I can't wait till it's done!
We rented four anime tapes yesterday: Record of Lodoss War, The Slayers, Demon City, and Fire Emblem. I didn't like Lodoss War that much, something about it didn't click with me. We're half-way through watching Slayers, and it's kind of funny so far... but it can't really compare with anything like Oh! My Goddess or Trigun. We have yet to watch the others.
And hopefully I'll be able to fix all the errors Premiere has been having lately.... it's been crashing every time I try to open the program. I don't think that's normal.....
Anyway, I'm happy to be back to the site, I'm hoping for the Golden Donut:)

Figured Stuff Out
2002-06-25 17:58:09
After fiddling with Premiere for a few hours and searching the Video Help forum, I am finally able to figure out how to directly edit VOB's in Premiere! That was nerve-wracking, trying to figure what was wrong all the time. I must have puzzled over why Premiere wouldn't open the .avs file I made for an hour before I finally discovered it had .avs.txt on the end (stupid XP doesn't show the end of file names in Explorer) and then I had to tackle the "black screen" problem and wondered how on earth I was going to edit with my monitor window in full 720 x 480 so I added the resize code to the .avs file and now....
Voila.... clear, perfect, uncompressed VOB's to edit all I want:) Never again will I have terrible output quality!
I'm happy to see so far my computer's able to run Premiere fairly quickly, even with direct VOB edits (some people in the forums were talking about how Premiere had issues with XP, I was getting worried! It seems to run fine though). It still crashes every now and then, but at least it doens't run slowly like Pinnacle did. Even my new computer couldn't handle Pinnacle if I added too many transitions for its liking. Pinnacle always crashed whenever the project was getting to be three or four minutes long... but I guess that was the deal I got with a program that only cost $150.
I re-started Project FA so I could edit it using the VOB's instead of the converted AVIs I was using. I'd only done eight seconds of it anyway, so that didn't waste too much time.
I found a worthy song for a Trigun video. After Project FA, I'll probably start work on that one... I really want to make an AMV worthy of the Trigun series.

Project FA is finally in progress!!!
2002-06-24 16:48:28
Yesterday, for my birthday I got Adobe Premiere 6.0!!!!!! Aren't you happy for me?:)
Me and my sister spent a few hours last night trying to figure out how to work the program. It's very confusing, but once you discover how to do everything, it's so AWESOME!! It can do almost EVERYTHING!
I finally started my Ah! My Goddess project (which I dubbed "Project FA") and have completed 8 seconds of it so far. I took two hours, mainly trying to figure out what the heck all the buttons did. I think I'm getting the hang of it, though:) Even though it's mainly to the AMG movie, I wanted to use some scenes from the OVA too. I ordered those off Anime Nation about a few days ago. I think they'll take a week or two, and in the meantime I'll just edit the scenes from the movie and leave blank spaces where I want OVA scenes to go.
I also ordered the Sailor Moon R movie and the entire Trigun boxed set off Amazon. Can't wait!
