  • Video nearing completion 2002-07-12 19:47:33 My Trigun video is almost done. There are many, many small details I need to fix first though. I have mixed emotions about this video. It's more depressing than I'd wanted it to be, although it's not TOO depressing. Most of the editing and ideas I had looked better than I thought they would be, and I'm happy with that. The ending looks good, although I think I need to make it better still. A lot of the effects and some timings need fixed. But overall, I'm proud of it so far.

    After this video I think I'll take a short break from editing before beginning a happier video, either another Oh My Goddess video (this time done to the series and not the movie) or my remastered edition of Dancing With Myself.

    I want to start Dancing With Myself, because I have tons of ideas for a remastered version and I can easily make all the FF8 footage ten times better quality than in the original video (I now have enough hard drive space to have uncompressed clips), but as for the FF10 stuff... I don't even own the game. I don't even own a playstation. I don't even own a capture card! The downloaded footage I used before will look terrible in contrast to the high-quality uncompressed footage from FF8! I could make the FF8 stuff look bad on purpose so that you don't notice it that much but I really, really don't want to do that....

    *dilemna*

    What to do? Oh well...

    I watched up to the seventh episode of Escaflowne. I really like it so far, it's an awesome series^_^ Watched two episodes of Cowboy Bebop, and am about to watch the third. I haven't watched enough of it to have a real opinion of it, yet. Watched the first and third episode of Magic Knight Rayearth. The style of the show was a little too kiddie for my taste, but Fuu is such an awesome character! She reminded me of me^_^

    I have to go work on my video for some more hours. I wonder how long I spent so far? I never keep track. I think I now edit somewhere around 4-8 hours a day (I love summer). It's been about a week and a half. 40-80 hours. Hmmm... more to come^_^ 
  • Sooooo bored... 2002-07-10 23:01:17 Hello again.

    Well, I am at 2:56 in my Trigun video. The song is 4:16 long. I'm over half done, I think... unless if I spend a long time fixing everything... and there's a lot I need to fix too...

    But it's looking good so far. It's better than One Day in terms of concept, I think. My Trigun video is very different from my Ah! My Goddess video. While One Day was happy and upbeat, my new video is dramatic, serious, and almost depressing. It still has action scenes in it though, and I'm having fun making it despite its seriousness.

    I'm contemplating whether I should keep in a voice-over I put in the video. I think I'll take it out since it doesn't suit the video like I thought it might, and I'm getting sick of voice-overs anyway.

    I'm happy with my video. I think it might be worthy of the Trigun series like I wanted it to be. I just hope the ending turns out like I wanted it to...

  • Everything 2002-07-03 15:21:20 Well, today's me and my twin sister's birthday. Both me and Sierra Lorna are 15 as of today.

    Heh, I'm in a weird mood right now.

    The FTP still isn't working. Where's the Golden Donut when you need it?

    Digital Dojo: hmmmm... you have interesting images of people. I always have thought of Jbone as that character from Big O, even before he used that avatar. It's not surprising you associate me and my sister to FF. Heh, actually I'm the elder of us two. I think I was born five minutes earlier or so. You probably think I'm more childish because she doens't ask people dumb questions like I do; she lets me figure it all out so she never has to ask anyone:). She's the artist (did you see her logo for her studio? She DREW that!) and I'm the one who figures out how to fix everything on the computer.

    I think of myself as Fuu from Magic Knight Rayearth. That's the green person I used for my avatar. She reminded so much of how I thought of myself, it's almost scary. She has glasses like me (though mine aren't that big and round) and has almost the same length of hair (mine's a darker brown than hers) she's always thoughtful, peace-loving and reasonable. I just thought she acted so much like me. And my favorite color is green too... I think of myself as Fuu:)

    To anyone who's interested in seeing my new video, I don't have the FTP set up yet (hopefully I will soon), but in the meantime I put it on KaZaA for anyone who wants to go looking for it. Type in Dark Moon Studios as the artist under Video and you should find it:) 
  • AAAAAAARRRGHHH! 2002-07-01 23:08:36 WHY is everything breaking today? WHY? My video is supposed to be OUT THERE TODAY! THEN EVERYTHING SINGLE THING ON MY COMPUTER IS BREAKING AND HAVING SYSTEM MALFUNCTOINS!
    First, I wanted to make my video an mpeg file because I like them better than avi's. So, I spend one to two hours following ErMaC's guide trying to make the best possible looking file, and then after it took about 45 minutes to render and I go to play back the file, Windows Media Player tell me it "Has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." WHY? What did I do wrong?
    So I used trusty old Virtual Dub to make a DivX file instead. I guess that turned out okay, except for the fact that the audio quality sucked after I compressed it and I have to figure out how to compress audio properly.
    And now Devo's FTP isn't working. And I'm definitely not going to trust Winsite with anything, so I currently have no way to host my video even if I did figure out how to compress the audio right.
    So I went to go to Yahoo! Mail to e-mail Digital Dojos and ask him when he thinks the FTP might be up, when I log in and there's a message that says "Temporary problem accessing your mailbox. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.The problem with your mailbox has now been logged, and we are working to restore your access. Thank you for your patience."

    What did I do to deserve this:( I just want people to see my video... is that so much to ask? Why does my computer hate me? I treat it with repect....

    So at this point I said "aaargh!" and wrote this journal entry.

    So, DD: When do you think the FTP will be up? Am I going to have to wait a week before my video gets up, or will the problem be fixed shortly (hopeful smile)? Thanks for all your help.

    On a happier note, I think I might post my video info anyway just for something to do while I wait.

    My DVDs should be here in a couple days or so, then I can start a new project and get all the system errors all over again, weeee!
