JOURNAL: silver_moon (Valerie )

  • Some updates... 2004-12-21 17:53:45 Well, I'm about 35-40% done my new AMV project. I have another six months to finish it if I want to enter it into Otakon next year... and I think I need it. I've been working on this video for about four months and I'm not even half-way done it yet.

I'm debating whether or not to start another project on the side... after this school semester is over, I might have more time to edit since my classes should be slightly easier. But it also depends how much I feel like editing.

I can't wait till VCAs start... it'll be interesting to see who gets video of the year.

    Four days 'till Christmas!! :D
  • A spontaneous journal entry... 2004-10-28 14:43:04 I just randomly felt like writing in my journal... this is the first time I've written in it in almost two years... wow...

So anyway, I've made eight videos since my last journal entry, bringing my total vid count to twenty-two. That's a lot. But I'm probably not going to release another video for a looong time.
I am working on a project right now, but it's one that I'm going to be very, very precise and perfectionist over. I'm planning on entering it in AWA Pro, and I probably won't release it on the org until September next year, after the contest. I've never entered AWA before, (I wish I had entered something this year though, but it's a little late) but I'm excited for next year's con. I'm not actually going to go to Atlanta, there's no way I can afford to, but competing in Pro should be fun. :)

I'm only finding time to edit on weekends right now (school's taking up a lot of my time) so progress on my vid is very slow. I've finished about thirty seconds so far (I started the project about two months ago). I still have to wait for a few anime DVDs I bought to get shipped to me, and I need them to get started on the next part of my vid, so I'm not editing anything on it at the moment.

I hope this video turns out the way I want it to... considering how much time I'm planning to spend on it, it *should* end up the way I want it to.
  • Resonance 2003-02-22 18:00:37 And I return from the depths of the unknown to announce my new vid:

    Title: Resonance

    Hope you like it! ^_^
  • Reflections on my videos... 2003-01-12 16:03:39 I have received 101 opinions on all of my videos. Wow. That makes me feel so special. ^_^ Sierra Lorna got the privilege of being my 100th opinionator, by the way. ~_^ I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to give me an opinion or write me some words in comment on my videos. It's appreciated very much! ^_^

I think out of all of my videos, One Day still remains my favorite. Which is kind of surprising, since I made it over six months ago and I usually get sick of my older videos. That video was so much fun to make, and it's so happy and fun to watch over again. Technically, it's nowhere near perfect or with exact, precise timing... but I still like it best. In My Arms Again comes at a close second. I'm a big fan of artistic and sappy things, and that video is my most emotional and artsy of my videos. It's not necessarily something I like to watch over and over, but I still like it a lot.

These two videos seem to be my most popular so far (judging by the fact that they received the most opinions and good comments), which is good since I like them too. ^_^

My latest video... I don't even think I like it very much. Which is really sad, since I spent so long on it. It just doesn't look like I planned it too. Some of my others didn't look like I planned them to either, but in their cases, they ended up looking better than I planned. I think I focused too much on the silhouettes and I didn't take enough time to think up more ideas and a solid concept. And I should have waited to find a song that I could have actually timed properly to. But oh well... I don't hate the video, I just don't like it.

I'm sick of crazy effects by now. Effects aren't what a video's supposed to be about. Scene choice, ideas, and action syncing are more important. And having fun while making an AMV is important too. Usually it shows through if you have fun making a video. I have to keep these things in mind...
  • It's finally done... 2003-01-05 00:14:26 I have a new video:

    Title: Shadows
    Anime: Cowboy Bebop
    Song: Lifehouse - Spin
    Size: 40.8 MB
    Link: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=13607

If you see it, it would be greatly appreciated if you left an opinion and told me what you think! ^_^

That video took waaay too long... some people spend really long times on their videos, but just a few months is too much for me... but I like it... I think...

In other news, Sierra Lorna and I are still working on our comedy video. That video is lots of fun to make. I can't wait to see what it ends up looking like. ^_^

I just sent in my contribuation to the Golden Donut. I didn't send much (I don't have a job or anything, so I have limited funds), $24.00, but it's something. I'm running out of space to put my videos up... Go, donut, go!
