  • Another craptacular entry 2007-03-06 23:25:10 here, I should have mentioned this video earlier. My number 1 fave video isn't even all that great technically... I mean, Chiika must have tried everything she could at the time, but... well here. can't beat this with an emo stick. It's all beaten out

  • I once looked up the name Knowname 2007-03-06 17:06:08 There were like 8 of them! just on the one ICQ phonebook o.0.... but I was the first by FAR

    I go through all of my names.

    Sub0- first surfaced here, in 2001 as a play off of my former name. It's sort of a play off of the Mortal Kombat character, but not. It's more because my last name is Fries

    MrFries- (circa 1997) Simply cuz... I'm a mister... and my last name is Fries -_-. but no, I kept with it till 1999 or so cuz it was kinda' cool, considering it IS pronounced Freeze, and the guy (MRFreeze) from Batman is ACTUALLY Victor Fries o.0.... but it just got a little dorky lol.

    Knowname- (circa 1995) one of my first names, I made it in Prodigy's Text MOD, Gemstone (it was Knowname Battery just cuz my former last name got denied and I couldn't think of anything... the Nazi mods HATED it, just cuz it's not an RP Tolkienesque name... screw Tolkien! I WANNA PLAY A GAME!!), gemstone than moved to the web and started charging money to get the REAL emos with REAL emo names (at that time I couldn't afford the game AND the internet's old hourly fees, something like $5 an hour, over $200 a month!!) so I gave it up. Knowname resurfaced circa 2000 on bulletin boards (not including ICQ... I hardly used it, I had a 5 # name -_- that's how new it was) and in 2002 when I needed a more Emo name I took it here -_-. So you want emo videos?? don't look at Sub0, look at Knowname.

    Aimaime-san- (2005) I just like to commemorate my org anniversary with a new screen-name. It wasn't not allowed until 2003 or 2004 anyway!! And I just couldn't change my ways in 2005 as 'my' studio called for a third name. So as not too spread TOO much confusion I don't use this name much... only on MEPs and MEP segments.

    PDraggy- (2004?) I use this name mainly on IMs and Livejournal... it comes from the character Puff the Magic Dragon ^.^ (as does Knowname as a play off of the character Nobody, I also like the Never Ending Story's the Nothing and Emo stuff like that lol...) with a little retro flair, playing off Puff Daddy's nick Pdiddy. I think that's why he gave the nick up... lol

    Knowstradamus- (2002) that year there was a big scare about a meteor hitting earth and alot about Nostradamus. So I just took my current name, Knowname, and made Knowstradamus! (on a scale of impulsiveness I'm a 12... 10 being INHUMANLY jumpy) I did things such as predict the storylines of Star Wars episodes 2 and 3, I predicted Aniken and Padme would marry, have a kid, TWINS in fact (a boy and a girl... I'm thinking they have an affinity with the letter 'L'), AND they would be separated at birth! My crowning achievement ^_^. Also on Skype... cuz everything else was taken...

    NETID- (2005) ONLY on myspace, it stands for not enough time in the day. Cuz I hate doing stuff... Bah, humbug.

    Venom- (1993) going WAAAY back to when some of you weren't even born yet ^_^... damn I feel old lol anyway after a few months I came acrossed the originator of this Comic book forum name... so I had to change.

    Phalanx- (1993) actually I went by P* ;p real original as that was Prodigy's logo lol. Yeah, I changed it a year later when... FORCED to lol. (PHALANX IS A PERFECTLY VALID COMIC BOOK CHARACTER!!)

    Supreme- (1994) it's the name I took and stuck with. Not a marvel character so I was 'hip' ;p.

    so yeah, bottom line. Who's addicted to the internet?? not me!! lol

    BUT! SOOOOOO awesome!! NOT only is a LP romance vid INCREDIBLY original (just not with this song... it's like 'duh!!'... I once had a romance 'crawling' vid to AMG THAT was the ultimate... though he 'stole' his clips from silver_moon...) but MUCH respect to the sound!! BIG UPS!!

    looper hunt, my first foray into dub edits

    also I must note STUPID lawyers for American VAs tend to get sue happy for con winning dub edits... editing in the Japanese VAs or SFX seems a-ok though. I didn't learn this until just recently though lol.

    I give videos with dub edits or sfx that TRY to entertain and miss the mark (with decent audio...) a 9

    Days of Spring... people don't seem to get why I put these there...

    ONLY if a video has REALLY noticably good audio do I give it an 8... unfortunateley it's TERRIBLY hard to tell if it's REALLY good audio, but I try to judge this in a down to earth fasion... also it IS easier to tell REALLY good audio if YOU HAD MADE SOME YOURSELF!! ;p Suprise!! MP3 SUCKS!! Yes, some songs (like Madonna songs are the BEST!!) are encoded SOOOO well that theres almost NOTHING you can do to make it sound bad... BUT listen to it in a few different codecs, you'll hear a BIG difference and hopefully open your EARS to good audio encodes.

    5 and below... well let's not talk about them...

    I personaly think 7 is average, but if you enjoy thinking 5 is average (ya' nazi), than by all means, adjust by your taste. My stance on average is 5 IS the average average EXCEPT nobody makes their videos to just be average, they want to PUSH the average... SO if you look around, 7 is the overall average (actually it's more like 8... and that is pathetic) of everybodys video. IE, too me, 7 IS the baseline... 
  • Not to be outdone by VCA hype 2007-03-05 12:40:09 but it would be easier to judge 'most improved' by the facts. And as far as the facts are concerned, like Katie said, she got nominated to MANY more categorys this year than ever before. I mean, sure she has gotten the all ten ops alot before, but as far as VCAs are concerned I would DEFFINITELEY call that improved.

    Sadly, many nominations, and some categorys all together, like this one, sadly come down to popularity. AMVs be damned. I'm sure every SINGLE person in most improved had GREAT videos beforehand.
