I'll list all of the suggestions I'd heard (I did go to sleep for 3 hours) here so:
El Hazard- Based on what little I've seen (5 episodes and a dozen amvs), reminds me of Tenchi Muyo or Ranma
Full Moon wa Sagashite- saw the whole thing a bit depressing during the series, but ENCOURAGEING ending, you need depressing to be encourageing so. Yeah, it's kinda depressing... but you forget about it by the end -_-.
Macross- If you try ANY Mecha anime make it this one (or Patlabor...), Macross is to mecha anime as Top Gun is to Air Force documentarys.. or that one Gene whatevers 'We Were Soldiers' is to war movies. Macross SO makes Gundam it's bitch if you look for more than just action and angst.
Azu Dai- finish it!
Naruto- quite a bit encourageing, without the depression... but yeah, long -_- I used to be like that as well lol. pretty action packed so don't expect otherwise ;p but not like DBZ
Bleach- also long and unfinished -_- a bit action oriented, but Orihime is the very DEFFINITION of strong leading lady! -No, I'm not gay!!! I just look for more than just big breast and comic releif, and more than just action in my anime! See Tenjou Tenge.
Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres: Celestial Legend)- IMO, depressing, don't. Great series when your in the mood for a tragic love story, but...
Fushigi Yuugi <sp??>- No comment, THIS is where I draw the line -_- I aint 'comfortable' with myself enough for THIS! ANYBODY who's comfortable with themself enough for this MUST be gay -_-.
Daa Daa Daa- pretty funny after episode 12 or so. Baby hijinks ;p
Aishiteru Baby- Shoujo version of Daa Daa Daa, that's ALL there is to say about it.- GET IT GET IT GET IT GET IT! YOU''D LOVE IT!
Bakuretsu Tenshi (Burst Angel)- mecha anime, nevermind -_-
Tenjou Tenge- hear me before?? Big breast, comic releif, action a la carte- I wouldn't get it (but I did and nearly ripped my eyes out in the process)- not seen the movie.
DearS- Ooooo!! I LOVE! Can't beleive I forgot this!! sort of a mix of Chobits and Golden Boy.
Da Capo- THIS TOO! Mucho depressing 'love' story though.
Kimi Ga Nozumo Ein (KGNE)- not seen it, but if Elfen Leid is depressing you can count on this to be. They look similar.
Hachimitsu to Clover (Honey and Clover??)- If it IS Honey and Clover, ppl say it's a kickass comedy, that's all I know ;p fact I'm d/ling it too atm, it just finished in Japan -_-.
Kaleido Star- I've not seen it, but how can you go wrong with a 'sports' anime? Their always good.
Tenchi GXP- I dropped this after 5 episodes, it's no Tenchi Muyo or even Tenchi shoujo... er in Tokyo. Rather more like the Shonen version of Pretty Girl Sammie (made for preteens).
Maburaho (Shino's version of Mahurabo??? lol)- It's a Gainax anime idn't it??? THEY'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!
Rozen Maiden- No idea
Hand Maid May- looks really fun... but check for Gainax.
(some Magical Girl Anime I forgot)
Magical Baton Girl <something>- the new holder of 'Ben's anime that he's ashamed to say he liked' belt! Seriously a VERY cute anime once you get passed the strawberry shortcake glitter in the first few episodes -_-.
Magical Lyrical Nanoha- saw like the first 4 episodes then the rest was a blur... looked fun. -

Hm... happy endings... well you probley seen it cuz it was a topic here for a while, but Full Moon wo Sagashite. Gotta download it though, animesuki.com. I personally turn to Macross animes for uplifting themes, it's a mecha anime though. Basically the themes go like

A Les Miserables play... seriously ^^ that vid is AWESOME ;p... well lets see... Azumanga Daioh or maybe Excel Saga... knowing your psuedo-nasty mind you may ENJOY episode 26 lol. Probley seen those... Did you say you liked YYH?? Why don't you like Naruto? It's made by the same ppl, Naruto looks like DBZ but it's more like YYH or Bleach (all made by studio pierrot btw ;p, Ayashi No Ceres too ;p though THAT is depressing -_- typical wasername that did FY though.. Yu Watase I think)... uh... Escaflowne is popular with the fangirls -_- You might like Bleach. If you've not seen Daa Daa Daa your crazy! or the Shoujo version, Aishiteru Baby. Daa Daa Daa is just more slapstick, starts off slow and I think has been abandoned but almost got done ;p. That Burst Angel thing ppl were talking about before ended on a high note... so it's not depressing... I guess... I thought it was distubing though (much like Tenjou Tenge wich you probley WOULDN'T like ;p not many do anyway) those are at gotwoot.net or on dvd.... shhh! don't tell. Most of my suggestions are limited to fansubs off animesuki... If ya wanna dvd I'd have to think harder.
I'm pretty much limited to responding to ppl as well now that I'm working on my video... the more ppl to respond to the marrier!! ;p - @Jubjub (and my adoring public -_-) 2005-10-26 11:37:46 gee, and I thought *my* family was antsy... I'd never lived in the same place for more than 2 years till I moved out. Coarse most of that was moving around in the same island... and you can't move that much in Hawaii lol... too small (and EXPENSIVE!! Much more now than before though... oh, 7 bucks per gallon of milk for instance -I'm guessing cause it was 5 bucks, 8 years ago when I moved-)
