lol, when I first got into Anime I had this friend who was getting out so he decided to sell his stuff to me cheap. Well some good like Trigun, but some were just TERRIBLE like MD Geist and VF Gowcaizer. Real 'cheap' stuff. yeah, I learned the same lesson the hard way. the anime market in the 80s had almost NO public relations or whatever you call it, no quality controll. So like Hollywood movies, you can't just go out and buy whatever's cheap and suppose it'll be 70-80% good still. It may not o.0. I learned that through quite a few blushes and 'kill me nows' as well. But you know, don't let this spoil you off of cheap anime entireley, just look em up first ;p, some of my favorites (Birdy the Mighty, Project A-ko, Uresei Yatsura, Blue Seed, Princess Nine, even Tenchi Universe) have been off the bargain pile... also QC lateley has been pretty good so some day you'll be able to just buy whatever's cheap ;p.
