  • Rolling right along 2001-10-29 08:41:19 I was actually able to start piecing together my "Natural" video this weekend. Only have the first few seconds placed in and so far it's been a very difficult process. This is my first attempt at a Drama video, so I want to try and get everything right. It's not going to be perfect (are they ever?), but I'll do my best. Big problem I noticed when I started this video is that my secondary hard drive sucks big time when it comes to capturing video. I cleaned it up so that 95% of it was free and it was still dropping frames when I tried to capture to it. It's an old 10 Gig hard drive so I'm not surprised. Had to capture to my main hard drive which is a 30 Gig ATA/100. I believe my 10 Gig is only an ATA/66. The 10 Gig was given to me so I mainly use it as a backup drive anyway. I'm supposed to be getting a new hard drive soon as my friend is getting me one for Christmas, so looking forward to that. Hopefully it will help me make better quality videos, but for now I have to make due with what I have.

    Glad to see my favorite football team, the Chicago Bears, actually doing well this year! I've stuck with them for a long time and it's good to see them at 5-1. Hope they keep it up. And I'm also very pleased with the way the Diamondbacks have playing in the World Series so far. They have the Yankees down now they need to kick them hard! I'm sticking with my prediction, D-backs will win it in six games! 
  • Whoa!! An actual progress report! 2001-10-26 22:41:58 As I write this I'm listening to a little Metallica (Sad but True...KICK ASS SONG!) and getting ready to set up a project in VideoFactory for my Princess Nine video.

    Yes, I'm actually finally getting to work on a video. Sometimes I get this sudden inspiration to do a video and I have to act on it before it fades! Ok, so I have the music I want to use, was the first thing I did. I'll be using the first half of the score "Prologue" from the soundtrack of "The Natural". The actual piece is almost 5 and a half minutes long, so I decided it would be best to use only the first 3 and a half for the video. Decided this because I feel the video may get boring if I use the full time. Will find out how this works out when I start putting it together.

    Also sat down and skimmed through the DVD I have of Princess Nine and wrote down the scenes that will possibly work for this video. It's going to focus on Ryo Hayakawa, the ace pitcher and main character of the series. I'm going to title the video "Ryo Hayakawa: The Natural". It's basically going to be an introduction to the character and how she gets started out in the series. It's highly possible that I may make a series of videos off of Princess Nine set to the different scores of "The Natural" soundtrack. Depends on how the series turns out though, so for now, take this as only a beginning.

    I've said this before, but this series does seem to have roots to the movie "The Natural". Ryo seems to be a female version of Roy Hobbs. If any of you have seen "The Natural" you'll know that Roy was supposed to be a star pitcher for the Cubs before tragedy struck him. Heh, if you rearrange Ryo's name it spells Roy! Don't know if this was intentional by the writers, but I think it's neat.

    Next up for me is to set up the project and then trim the music to three and a half minutes. Then comes the capturing, putting it together and rendering. Hopefully I'll be able to do some of this tomorrow. We'll see. Hope at least some of you found this interesting. 
  • A video put on hold, another to be made 2001-10-26 09:14:16 I've decided to put my Robotech video on hold temporarily in favor of a new idea I have. After watching the first DVD of Princess Nine and seeing some similarities to the movie "The Natural", I've decided to make a video with the first five episodes set to the Prologue music from "The Natural" soundtrack. I believe the music will set the mood just right for the introduction to this series. I've enjoyed it! Gonna get started on it this weekend so it shouldn't take me more than two or three weeks to finish, depending on how much time I devote to it. I have the inspiration so I'm going to act on it. As Robert Redford said in the Natural "God I love baseball." and that rings very true for myself.

  • Princess Nine and other ramblings 2001-10-25 08:31:14 I've only watched the first two episodes of this series and I already like it. Finally an anime is out there about my favorite sport, baseball! Will be interesting to see how this series plays out.

    Did some severe cussing at Devil May Cry last night. Got my ass handed to me by the Mission 17 boss. Now I have to start the damn mission all over. Oh well, that's part of the charm of this game. Hard games = good games. I like a good challenge.

    I will try to make some time to skim through my Robotech DVD's to see what footage would be good for my next video. I need to get that video going and finished soon cause I have another idea that I need to get out of my head. I'm sure most of you know what I mean.

    I'm also beginning the reconstruction of my website. Should have it ready as I plan (by December). That's about all I have to say for now. Time for work.  
  • Woohoo!!! 2001-10-23 08:25:20 Someone actually left an opinion on my Eva Duel of the Fates Video! Been a long time since I've seen a new opinion on that one. Got a nice review so I'm happy that people are enjoying it.

    Devil May Cry took up some more of my time last night and that game just keeps getting better. Although I'm a little disappointed they haven't expanded on the plot any and I'm nearly finished with the game (on mission 15 of 21). Hopefully everything will flesh out toward the end. I highly recommend this game to anyone with a PS2. Once I finish the game I'll start skimming through my Robotech DVDs to find some footage for my Star Trek themed video.

    World Series prediction: Diamondbacks in 6. Sorry Yanks fans, but I think their run ends this year!
