  • HA! Finished my website....well, sort of 2001-11-05 16:49:19 My new website design is pretty much complete with the exception of a couple of sections. One of those sections needs requests from other studios for links from my site :) . Anyone interested in having a link on my site please contact me by email. Your support is appreciated.

    Here's where to go..............................

  • Wow...what a weekend! 2001-11-05 15:43:40 First off I want to update everyone on my latest vid. I'm about 95% complete now, I just have to figure out how I'm going to end the video. I tried to fit the ending I wanted but it didn't work out like I'd hoped. Believe me, the second half of doing the video has been tough and I think I've managed to pull it off well so far. Now I just have to give it a good ending. I will tackle that part when I get home this evening and try to have the whole thing rendered and approved by Wednesday.

This was one heck of a weekend for me. Went to the bar on Saturday and got a pleasant surprise. My regular bartender thought she had to be in at 9 to work and turned out she wasn't expected until 11. So, she invited me and my buddy to join her at a strip club she used to work in! Talk about unexpected! I don't go in those places anymore since they're so expensive, plus you get tired of them after a while. Anyway, she wanted to go see some friends there and she rode with me and my friend there. It was pretty fun! We took her back to work afterwords and had a good time at the bar the rest of the night. Unfortunately, she gave me a cold, so I'm a little under the weather today :P . But that's okay, getting a chance to hang out with her was great! She's a cool person.

Yesterday was a great day in sports for me. First I got to see the Bears pull out a miracle in their game against the Browns in football. My dad and I were very happy about that since we're both Chicago Bears fans. Chicago scored two touchdowns in less than two minutes. The sent the game into overtime on a last second touchdown and then in OT, they intercepted a pass for a touchdown to win the game! Same thing they did to the 49ers only a week earlier! It was unbelievable! Then the icing on the cake came later that night. Arizona dethroned the champs!!! Finally the Yankees lost the World Series and in a fitting way too! Arizona got a little payback on their near misses in Games 4 and 5 by scoring two runs in the bottom of the ninth off of the Yankees closer! Man, that was an exciting game!!! I was going nuts when they pulled it off! Way to go D'Backs!

Well, that's about all I have to talk about right now. My new look website should be up soon as well. Have a good day all!
  • Halfway home 2001-11-02 08:28:07 I've completed about half of my "Natural" video. Captured some more video last night to help overcome some roadblocks and now I should have plenty of footage to work with to finish it up. If I keep rolling along like I am now, I should have it ready sometime next week. I've made good use of a notebook while doing this video to help flesh out what I want to do with it. I've sectioned off the different parts of the music to help compile the story I want to tell with the video. It's been a tremendous help. Wish I had thought about doing that with my previous two videos. The first one I made, "Battles of Gally" was my first and I just winged it all the way through. "Eva Duel of the Fates" took a lot more thought as I sat down and wrote all the parts I wanted to include in the video. This time around I've taken it a step further and wrote out exactly what I want to do. So hopefully I've found the biggest piece of the puzzle to make good music videos. Whether my "Natural" video will be any good or not is not up to me, it's to you guys who watch it (if some of you want to see it.). I'll try to have it finished by next week.

My website may be ready to go back online today. Work here is still as slow as ever and I've had a ton of time to work on it. I'm going to have a section on my site for Other AMV Studios, so if you want to be in that section please send me a message at saber@oburg.net . If you have a banner for your studio it would be a tremendous help with the link to your website. Appreciate anyone who is interested.

That's about all for now. TGIF!!!
  • This is just......sick..... 2001-11-01 08:41:53 Dammit all! Arizona had the Yankees by the balls and handed the World Series to them. UGH! I'm having flashbacks of 1996!!! If any of you are fans of baseball you'll know what I'm talking about. Guess we'll find out what kind of character Arizona has after that collapse last night. Man that pisses me off.

Anyway, since work has been very slow lately I've had time to work on my website. Have the template ready for the pages and I've created the databases I'm going to use for a couple of sections. I'm also integrating flash into my website. Using it for the main site navigation and title banners for each section. I've covered my bases too if people are using older browsers or have browsers that do not support flash by having text links to the different sections at the bottom of each page. The way things are going I may have my site ready by the middle of next week. Business has been awful here where I work and I'm seriously considering finding work elsewhere.

Will also work on my video after I go grocery shopping this evening. I didn't last night because it was Halloween and wanted to watch a scary movie before the World Series began. Will definitely get back to work on it tonight.

Hopefully today will turn out to be a good day. Hope everyone else has one too.
  • And the adventure continues................ 2001-10-31 08:36:00 My "Natural" video is proving to be one of the most difficult I have ever made. My "Eva Duel of the Fates" was hard to do, but this one is proving to be tougher than that one. After I was satisfied how the video began I decided to write down how I wanted the rest of it to play out. That helped tremendously. Now I think I'm going to have to capture some more footage because I don't think I have what I need for certain parts. The slow parts of the music are what I'll need more clips for, I have plenty (I think) for the upbeat parts. Will more than likely do that this evening since I'm in the groove of doing things. I'm having a lot of fun with this one since it is a challenge so I hope the final product turns out well.

I received another opinion on my Duel of the Fates video and it was another positive one. That definitely makes me happy and gives me confidence in my future projects. It also puts a little pressure on as in I don't want to disappoint anyone who has viewed my vids with a real stinker.

I have begun construction of my new website. It's not going to be as graphically intensive as my current design, but I do plan on having Flash buttons for the navigation so that should be something neat. It's going to be a simple design, but I really don't have time to make something elaborate at the moment. Should have it up by the end of November.

Here's a little something I was emailed a few days ago. It's pretty funny.

Two more days until Friday, hope I can make it! Have a good day everyone.
