JOURNAL: saber531 (Erik Dreistadt)

  • Title? I don't need no stinkin title! 2001-11-12 09:08:14 Need to send out another thanks today to Fluxmeister. Got permission to post his Jubei-Chan "Rollin" video on my website, so I'll be putting that up sometime today. Thanks!

Still no opinions yet on my Princess Nine video, so if any of you are reading this and have a few minutes, please watch it and let me know what you think. Anxious to know if others think it's a good video!

It looks like things are turning sour at the bar my friend and I go to every week. There's a new manager there since the owner can't be there as much as he used to. The new manager is a total asshole! For one, the bar did not open on time, it opened thirty minutes late. Second, my friend wore a shirt in rememberance of the September 11 attack and there was nothing derogatory about it. Was just a shirt with the statue of liberty on it and the last lines of the pledge of allegience. The asshole wouldn't let him in! We've been going to that bar regularly for over a year and the son of bitch wouldn't let him in the door because the shirt had writing on it! I tell you that place is starting to go to hell since the owner isn't running things there anymore. And to top it off, the manager said that the owner doesn't want the website we've been making for them. We're going to contact the owner today and find out the truth about that. We busted our ass on that site and have been trying to put more information on it, but the owner has been so busy we haven't been able to acquire any new information. Gosh, this burns me up. I've rambled on too much about this, so if it doesn't make any sense it's because I'm venting. Hard to explain things through a journal entry.

Anyway, time to get the work week started. Hope this week brings in a lot a business. Already have a potential design client coming in Wednesday, so hopefully that will go well. Take care all.
  • Some Thank You's and a Re-Load 2001-11-09 08:57:02 First of all I want to thank EK and Yoshi1013 for allowing me to post their videos on my website. I'll place them up on my site today, so if anyone wants to check them out go to my site at http://www.animechamber.com . I'll probably bug a couple of more people this weekend about their videos cause there's a few personal favorites that I want to post! Thanks again guys (if you're reading this)!

Okay, I received an email last night about a problem with the MPEG-2 version of my "Ryo Hayakawa: The Natural" video so I decided to take it down. What I did was I re-rendered the video into MPEG-1 format and it is now online, so there shouldn't be any problems. The video quality is still good, but it's not as good as the previous one I had up. After reading one of the guides on this site I realized that MPEG-2 is not good for online distribution. Heh, guess I should have read it earlier.

    Everyone have a good Friday!
  • Break Time! 2001-11-08 08:47:15 Well, now that I have another video under my belt I'm going to take a couple of weeks off from making videos. Hopefully I'll have a new hard drive by the time I'm ready to start my next one.

There's already been over 20 downloads of the MPEG-2 version of my last video so far and no-one has contacted me with any problems yet. So, either the video is running fine or whoever is downloading didn't read my comments and didn't bother to tell me there was a problem. I'm going to assume that it's running fine. I once again ask that if any of you reading this do view the MPEG-2 version, please, PLEASE, inform me if there are any problems with it. I don't want to disappoint anyone by distributing something that does not work.

Okay, enough worry about that. I'm about to finish the final section of my website, Favorite Vids. I contacted a couple of people last night and one approved me to post their video. The other I contacted, well, their email address posted in their profile doesn't work. So I guess I'll have to go without that video. Heh, gonna bug a few more people tonight for permission to post their vids on my site.

To close, I receive yet more positive feedback on my "Eva Duel of the Fates" video. My second straight 10 Overall score on it. I'm glad people really like that video even though there are a lot of Eva videos that were made. It's nice to see that people are enjoying that video as much as I enjoyed making it. Hopefully I'll receive an opinion soon on my "Ryo Hayakawa: The Natural" video.

Take care, all and have a good day!
  • At last it is finished! 2001-11-07 09:50:23 Finally have my Princess Nine video available for download! Hope you guys want to see it. The video is located here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/video.php?v=4058

For some reason there could be problems with the MPEG-2 version of the video. It played fine on my machine at home, but when I transported it to my machine here at work, it didn't play at all. I tried it on the other machine here at the office and, get this, it played upside down! I don't know if there was a problem with the transport or if it's the codec, but I hope that none of you encounter this problem. I mention this in the comments section on the video page, so please contact me if you have any problems viewing the MPEG-2 video. If a whole lot of people have problems, then I will take it down and re-encode it, probably to MPEG-1 format if it's not an issue of error in the transportation of the video. What I mean is, I put the files on Zip Disk for transportation to the server and there may have been a problem encountered when the MPEG-2 version was written to the disk. Make sense?

The Windows Media Version of it turned out surprisingly well. I was very pleased with how it turned out so for those of you with slower connections you should be able to see a fairly well encoded video :)

Hope you all enjoy it and comments are greatly appreciated!
  • The home stretch 2001-11-06 08:47:07 My video is about to be wrapped up. All I have to do know is render it and transport it to the server. I watched it several times last night to make sure it flowed the way I wanted and I'm quite satisfied with it. Hope those of you that view it will enjoy it too. I'll have it up first thing in the morning.

Also got a response last night to my request for studio links on my site, so I'll put a link to Image Arson Studios on my site this morning. Thanks for responding! Remember, if anyone else reading this wants a link on my site then please send me a message and I'll put up a link for you.

That's all for now. Be sure to look for my video titled "Ryo Hayakawa: The Natural" tomorrow!
