Congratulations to everyone who entered. I wish I would have been there to see them all. a few circumstances (including but not limited to the hurricane) kept me from going. I would like to thank though the contest co-ordinators for allowing me the time to re-create the intro without the bumper for judging (thank you for working with me on this)

Man I shouldn't have slacked off on writing people back when I first got their opinion on the video. Now im trying to write and not sound like an auto text. (sorry to the people who might feel that way.. it wasn't my intention) Im probably gonna finish catching up on the front end stuff here later ...

Ya know, I'm getting pretty bored and tired of all these people when I'm reading in threads about how they are going to make a video to show people that effects aren't needed to make a good video. ok first off I'm putting this here because im Making a generalization. I'm not trying to flame anyone in particular nor am I trying to start a flame war (hence why its just in my journal) Im just ranting. :ahem: first off NO SHIT dumbass, Of course effect aren't needed to make a video good. I'm pretty sure a huge percentage of the .org already knows that. I don't think your video will suddenly change the mind of all those effects junkies (me being one of them) there have always been people who don't need or choose not to use effects to create a form of expression. and then there are those who do, I personally enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out how im going to pull something off. Plus it all comes back to my one perception of the way I make AMV's. Give I dunno, A hundred people here a copy of lets say Spriggan (probably a bad choice. just a single DVD is what im getting at) and give them all a copy of premeire and give them the same CD (insert artist here) and tell 80 of them that they can't even touch the nice little boxes called "effects" (basically limiting to cuts and fades) and tell the other 20 that they can go nuts. (though keeping within the confines of premiere {plugins allowed}) and I will almost guarantee that the 20 who use effects will each have a video unique to each others than the 80 people who just used stock cuts and fades. even those 20 (out of an average cd of 14-15 tracks ) who decide to use the same song will have larger differences. Much like a hundred people getting handed a brand new honda civic and $30,000 put into a pepboys and say to 80 hey buy anything you want your car to have here in this store that bolts on and well take care of the rest. and then tell 20 that whatever they can come up with goes" same situation will cause different results. those who get their hands in there and make something stock into something thats truly their own, will always look more unique.
So in my ranting here which is soon to end. I say to you, mr no effects fundamentalist. "you're right. Effects are not needed to make an awesome video. but some people just want to do something different. for themselves."
