When dreaming/I'm guided to another world
2002-03-21 04:42:41
Well, this is just becoming a regular occurence, ain't it?
I woke up pretty happy, despite the fact that I got up like an hour early. Oh well. But the good mood ended when I went to get breakfast this morning. I walked in the front entrance, the lady scanned my I.D., I went to get breakfast. No that's not what ruined my good mood, what ruined my good mood was when that same lady walked around and said that I had snuck through the back entrance into the cafe. And she didn't even come up to me and just ask me for my card; she walked by yelling it so everyone could hear. I don't know what her problem was. (and it makes me realize that they need security there for more than just to make that students give the person manning the scanner their cards. They need them there so the person doing the scanner can't make foundless accusations) That really pissed me off, and I'm even more pissed that when I gave her my card AGAIN and she scanned it that she didn't apologize, since the scanner would have shown how many times I went through this morning. I really hope the rest of my day doesn't follow this pattern...
Ooo, on a big side note, I downloaded MexicanJunior's 'PFS!' last night and watched it when I cam back to my room before I went to sleep. I sat there watching it with my jaw slightly ajar, and one eyebrow raised. And when it was all over, I laughed until I cried. It was wonderful. Anyone who's not offended by sex and nudity should download it. I actualy didn't think there was that much nudity or sex in it (unless big, clothed, boobs count as nudity), especially by all the warnings MJ was putting everywhere. Hey, I should watch that before I go, it'd cheer me up...god that was a funny video. Anyway, I'm planning on reviewing some vids this weekend and so far my checklist is: jbone's 'Renegade Megadeus', The Great Wang's 'To the Stars', and MexicanJunior's 'PFS!' Expect a review from me in a few days guys.
Later guys.

In words I hear you still whispering/Your face is so unclear
2002-03-20 20:38:50
Well, back to back nights of journal entries. Woo-freaking-hoo.
Today was yet another uneventful day. Shit, I'll take uneventful over crappy, I get to go home on friday.
Well, I skipped japanese today, I figured I didn't need the aggravation today. I swore it was never gonna stop raining, either. The weather here is strange to no end. Oh well.
I was also supposed to make my class selection for next year, but that fell through when I waited for an hour and my adviser didn't show. He was in a meeting or something, (Damn meetings) so now I have go back tomorrow, when I know I'm gona be busy as hell, and try to figure out my schedule for next year in about 15 minutes. Sometimes this place closely resembles hell....ok, more than sometimes.
I'm in the amv.org chatroom now. It's still pretty lively, there's just this one asshole on who I would really like to punt into the sun though. Oh well, he keeps everyone talking (cause no one likes him). Just downloaded mj's 'PFS' vid. I won't be watching it in the presence of a dozen other people though, they'd probably think i was watching some kind of porno. Haha, judging by what I've heard, that's not far off. Oh well, I should finish my vid completely by tomorrow. That'll be a godsend, cause I'd love to have it up before I went home this weekend.
Well, it's about time for me to head out. I'll probably do an entry tomorrow after my hectic ass day.

And I have found/ That all that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
2002-03-19 22:05:53
Well, I think I'll do this every day or so. And maybe during the day, so people'll actually read it.
Today was a pretty good day, despite waking up and thinking it was 8:40 (when it was only 7:40) and that I'd missed my english class. Which would have meant I failed for the semester...and would've had to take the class again next year. I wanted to smother my roommate in his sleep, since he was the one that kept me up till 1 in the morning. Stupid bastard. Oh well, I get to go home this weekend, so I'll survive. And I don't have class till 12 o clock tomorrow, so I get to sleep in.
Blah, blah, blah, wnet to classes from 8 till 12, nothing eventful happened there. Did get invited to an interesting lecture today instead of having eartraining. I love music. I think it's strange how people can be stuck on one type, and not even give others a chance. I'll listen to pretty much anything once. It just has to be good for me to listen again.
Really, it was a pretty uneventful day till I got back from jazz band. I've been working on the video everyday now, and I'm finally done. Now I have to go back over it and fix and adjust things. I'm glad, I thought I'd never get it done. The org's chatroom was a buttload of fun tonight, I'm still mad I didn't get on last on monday. Oh well, there's a lot more people showing up now and it's a hell of a lot more lively. I hope it keeps up. In fact, everyone didn't leave till around 12. Quite fun. Talked to some folks, and someone has quite the project coming up. I'm not gonna say anything else about it, except that it looks to be hilarious when it's done. Well, it's one o clock, and it's beginning to show in my half-assed journal entry for the day. Oh well. Time for bed...or more editing. Nope, nope, def. looking like bed, my stomach is bothering me now. Ack.
Good night folks.

No mind, never matter. No matter, never mind.

Well it's my first time writing in my journal. Heck, maybe I'll do this more often. Well, today was parents' day here at Lincoln U. It wasn't bad, in fact it was quite nice. It did remind me how much I hate Baptist church services though, people screaming and falling out in the aisles was never my thing. It was good seeing my family, but it isn't like we never see each other anyway; we're a tight-knit bunch. Basically though, their coming was just a reminder that I get to go home in 5 days. Too bad it's not for longer than one weekend. Oh well, I do what I have to. Everybody does.
I've been beating my head out for last two days over my latest project, though. It's not fun when you export your video to take a look at it and the video and audio don't synch up anymore. Even though they have for the last three weeks you've been working on the video. Oh well, I've pretty much fixed the problem. Now I just have to figure out why the video doesn't run smoothly when I play it. It's like it hits a hitch or something. It doesn't mess up the synch or anything, it's just annoying, and I really don't want to try and post up my video like that (stupid DivX). Oh well, it won't matter since I'm exporting it through HuffyYUV and then converting it to something else from there. But HuffyYUV was being bitchy today and eating a gig of memory for four seconds of playtime on the video. God only knows why. Maybe I fixed it when I fiddled with the settings, I have yet to check it out.
I also find it amazing how the original concept that you have for a video can turn into something completely different. I was working on a trailer to VHD:Bloodlust, but somewhere along the line I looked up and noticed that the video had stopped being a trailer. In fact, it had morphed into a 1 minute, 52 second AMV. Oh well, it isn't neccesarily a bad thing. But I am starting to realize that doing a short AMV like this is a whole different ballgame than working with something that's three+ minutes long. Especially if you want to make the video good. There's just limits on what you can do. To make a long story short about it there's just less time to mess around and show off. Telling a story in a minute and fifty-two seconds is hard. Oh well, enough griping. I'm sure I'll abuse myself more by going and editing later anyway....
And for our final stop tonight: Wrestlemania.
There's one thing I can say about my school, they show every wrestling event on pay-per-view for no charge to the students. Of course, for as much money as we all pay to go here we'd better get something out of the deal. Watching something like Wrestlemania reminds me why I still take out time on occasion and keep up with The Rock and the gang. It's fun, pure and simple. Watching The Rock wrestle Hulk Hogan tonight was definetly the high point of the whole thing. The Rock won, for anyone who's interested. I was happy that he won, hell I wanted him to win. But I wouldn't have been mad if Hulk had won, especially since it was a straight wrestling match, no outside interference, no bullshit. Just two guys having it out the way it was meant to be. It was magical how quickly Hogan got back into it too. Good stuff. I'd be happy as shit if I was in my 60s and I could still keep up with a guy like The Rock. Hell, Hogan was kicking the Rock's ass for the better part of the match. And they shook at the end of it all, kinda like a passing of the torch. It was touching, and I'm not a real sensitive type of guy. (my g/f and a couple of my best friends tell me different, but bah, what do they know)
Unfortunately, then they kept going with Wrestlemania. There were two matches after the Rock/Hogan match, which made absolutely no sense in my mind, seeing as how Rock/Hogan was the high point of the whole thing. There was just no way they could have topped it, and they shouldn't have tried. The women's championship match was pretty craptacular, especially since it had to follow-up right behind the Rock/Hogan match. Jazz kept the title. I, personally, didn't even know she had it. The undisputed title match wasn't bad, but still, it had to follow Rock/Hogan. It just didn't seem as important. Triple H won though, I was happy with that. Jericho went from a cool guy to somebody I'd like to see go through a dozen tables in a matter of months. That must be some kind of record, to become so hated in such a short time. And at the end of it all they had this big music video wrap up of stuff that had happened. It's nutty what their editors can do given two hours to come up with a video, especially since the last match ended like 2 minutes before they showed the video. They must get paid a pretty hunk of change for what they do, and if they don't, they should.
Well, this pretty much wraps up my night. Well, I might smother my roommate with a pillow if he doesn't stop playing his f'ing keyboard. Oh, wonderful, he just stopped, maybe he heard me thinking. Oh well, doesn't matter, now I can get some sleep. Maybe I'll get up early and do a little editing. I'm finding that my best time to edit is in the morning. It is not, on the other hand, the best time for me to try and export anything, since I usually want to throw my laptop out of the window if I have any problems with it that early. But...wow, I've written quite a bit tonight. I wonder if anyone'll actually read all this... It's actually been interesting to do this. Hell, maybe I'll keep it up if enough people read it. Waaaiiiiit, is there even a way to see how many people have looked at your journal? Oh well, I guess I'll keep this up anyway.
For now though, farewell and goodnight to all the AMV makers out there.
